-Gorgeous rural location, great for northern lights and views of the mountains/glaciers - Great room with patio doors and lots of windows to take in the views (room 10) - Comfortable beds and big room - Free coffee in reception was a nice touch - Fab communal area with cooking facilities - Lovely staff - Only 15 mins drive into Vik for restaurants and shops. Easy access for stops along the south, great little hub

Not a massive deal and didn't take away from our stay at all, but improvements as below - our room was missing toiletries so nipped into Vik to get some, just fyi incase you don't plan on bringing - room was missing a curtain, but it's so dark it's fine for a couple of nights, just needs some tlc in the room - can be a bit noisy when it's breakfast time/people through the walls, just incase you're a light sleeper. - not a lot of choice for TV channels, but again not a big deal when you're out exploring! Would definitely stay again regardless!

The guesthouse was full of nice personal touches and though we checked in late we still felt very welcomed. We didn't book breakfast but still enjoyed what we brought with us (plus free coffee) in the light-filled dining area. Our room was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed the view. The location is good, very close to Vík, the beaches, and other places you'll want to visit.

Like many hotels in Iceland it feels a bit expensive for the atmosphere of the hotel and the amenities provided. Though the location is generally good, keep in mind that to get to most things you will need to drive back and forth on the same road for about 15 minutes – just plan accordingly if you need to get gas groceries, or get to meeting points for your activities.

Nice big room with plenty of hooks to hang items and not trip over suitcases. Bed was very comfortable. About 10 minutes from downtown Vik.

Our shower door was curved (maybe originally for a circle shower vs a traditional?) and on a hinge which meant while you were showering, the door was swing in/partially closed so you didn't have a ton of space in the shower. We resolved by filling the toilet bowl brush that was also in the bathroom with water and using it as a shower door stop so it worked out fine and might just have been an issue specific to our room. I'm sure if we called the hotel staff, they would have provided us with a solution.

We loved the recreation room and kitchen…..it was perfect for keeping food and having a fun evening separate from your room.

We arrived a little early since my son was a bit car sick that day. At that time, the two staff members seemed a bit impersonal and short. Since we couldn’t stay, we decided to drive back in to town and let my son sleep in the car while we waited the hour till check-in. Although our room was missing toilet paper and the soap dispenser batteries were out….it was clean and perfect for what we needed. Valentine was very accommodating upon check-in and much more welcoming and personable. He also immediately helped re-stock the forgotten TP and supplied fresh batteries for the dispenser. We did not have the privilege of having breakfast there since we really enjoyed using the separate kitchen in the recreational building. We would definitely return.

The hotel was perfect. I got the exact (and best) room I wanted. Clean, comfortable with a good shower. My views were so nice. I would get up early and just look out and appreciate the beauty. The staff were friendly and helpful and recommended places in town. Vik is a really beautiful town. Peace and tranquility with plenty to see. The Brewery was fun and excellent (we went twice.) The hidden Asian bowl place next to the gas station was delicious. The hotel was not in town and secluded, but it was well worth the amazing location. We didn't try the breakfast, but the coffee was good and free.

The only negative was that the room never got dark enough.

The house and room felt very warm and comfortable; a home away from home feeling. It was beautiful and very quiet in the house when we arrived so we didn't want to make a sound! But the instructions were very clear and the room was easy to find. It was very clean, and very cozy feeling. It was fairly well equipped. We also made use of the shared kitchen in a nearby building and it looked quite unique. It was a large common area with a variety of games to play and the shared kitchen was huge and very well equipped. When we left the next day we had a chat with the host and she was extremely friendly and helpful. Overall highly recommended!

When we got there the weather was very foggy and we actually went to the wrong house (there was a few in the vicinity. But it was the first house to the right so not sure why we missed it. The lights in the shared kitchen was motion detected and it would shut off fairly quickly. We had to keep constantly move around when we ate our meal which was quite funny (but a small hassle because we had a long day so we were quite tired). Outside was also gravel so we had to kind of lift our huge luggage from the car to the house. But these are not huge concerns and we very much enjoyed our stay!

Very nice farmhouse on the road to Vík, very close to the city with shops and supermarkets. The room was nice, clean and warm and had a window and a door facing the backyard. Even if we arrived late and didn't meet the host, everything was quite well explained. There's a common space where you can have free coffee, tea and biscuits during the night waiting for the northern lights (that we luckily saw even if they weren't so intense). There's also a very big and well equipped kitchen with dining/leisure room in a structure near the farmhouse. There's a parking area in front of the house.

It was a bit difficult to find the kitchen because we didn't meet the host (we arrived late) and there were no indications inside the farmhouse. We just went outside checking other structures and we found it.

We stayed in the deluxe double room option and it was of really good quality, very modern and clean. The communal areas exceed our expectations by far with how spacious it was and the access to the communal kitchen too. We arrived before the checkout time and we were invited to stay in the reception and have a warm drink which we definitely enjoyed with how cold it was! In terms of the location, it is only a 15 minute drive away from Vik and close to lots of beautiful landmarks such as Reynisfjara beach, Loftsalahellir Cave and Dyrhólaey.

The lodge is on a lovely farm about 10 minutes driving outside Vik. The women at check-in was very kind and helpful, and the rooms were beautiful, clean, and comfortable. There is a sitting area outside the rooms in case you want more space, and a separate kitchen building with a fridge for all guests. There was parking right outside the main building, and it was overall a very each process to check-in and check-out! This place served as a great home-base as we explored the south coast. I only wish we'd spent more time exploring the property!
