The house is beautiful and very well located in the heart of Fort Kochi. (as of October 2024 the pictures are outdated, the walls are now all white, which make the magnificent teak elements stand out better). Rooms are large, comfortable and well furnished with all the modern convinience with the charm of old rich houses. The staff is very helpful and available. Amazing breakfast, the kerala option is simple and tasty homefood, and it was different for the 3 mornings we had breakfast there.

This beautiful period property had a great location just a short walk to many of the tourist attractions of Fort Cochin. The room we had was spacious and quiet, overlooking the open courtyard area, with easy access to one of the common room areas. Breakfast was tasty, European and Keralan options, and plenty to start a busy day sightseeing. The owner was was extremely friendly and helpful, including booking our Kathakali tickets for us, and arranging a taxi transfer out to airport. Easy to leave our luggage for the day when we checked out too before our flight. Even if you don't stay in the historic part of the building, definitely take the time to go and explore it, as has a fascinating history.

A wonderful experience at a Heritage Home Stay at Fort Kochi.. One of the oldest homestay's in the area and has a heritage section and a modern section. The accessibility to all areas of Fort area is wonderful and you can literally walk everywhere. The hosts are wonderful people and explain to the guests the history of the town. You can also get confirmed tickets of the Kathakali Centre and witness beautiful performances. The food is simple but very well prep and as a homestay should be. We were very lucky to have found this place last minute, we have booked the "the luxe" room which was very nice and big. the common areas brings you back to the middle of last century, a real treat ! The hostess & staff are very friendly & helpful.

The airco works very well, but is a bit noisy at night even on the lowest ventilation. everywhere there are musquitos nets on the windows, and still they're able to slip inside.. the host provides repellent but its not very effective.

We opted for the traditional Kerala breakfast, which was both copious and delicious.

We would have preferred rooms at the front, in the older more traditional section of the house, but these were unfortunately already booked. There are rather steep steps up to the first and second floors, something to be borne in mind by people with mobility problems. For us it was no problem and we enjoyed the exercise!,

Hostess is very gracious and helpful. Structure of this heritage building is well preserved and clean. We enjoyed the breakfast during our stay. We really liked the surrounding as it was peaceful and quite. One can enjoy walk to the nearby places. Location is really good as there are multiple restaurants nearby and all the attractions are nearby walking distance.

Only one suggestion would be to replace the existing pillows in our room as they seemed to be old and had a bad smell.

The home is fascinating! We were given the option of a traditional bedroom in the old part of the house or a room in the more modern addition. The traditional rooms are beautiful, with old wooden floors polished to a high gloss, detailed wooden ceilings, and four-poster beds. The modern rooms are smaller but bright and airy. Service was friendly and prompt. Asha is a very gracious host!

Everything. The room was outstanding. The staff were incredibly helpful and supportive. There were a range of breakfast available and nothing was too much trouble. They organised excursions and travel for us and made our stay even more enjoyable.Would stay there again anytime.

A very warm welcome, and able to check in ahead of time which was a real bonus! We booked Kathakali through them which was a great evening! Early checkout and taxi booking was also very helpful! The place itself is very central in Fort Kochi and kept very calm and tidy.

The air conditioning is perhaps a bit old and noisy, but the owner was looking into the noise during our stay.

Wonderful old heritage home, professional and friendly staff/owners. We were made very welcome. We raised an issue with an electrical outlet and a maintenance man was called over within 15 minutes. I would certainly stay here again and recommend Chiramel Residency to my friends.

the downstairs rooms are dark and a little noisy. I would opt for an upper room next time.
