The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the wonderful host, Elivia. She made me feel incredibly welcome and at home, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. In fact, I started referring to Tamasha as my home during my stay. All in all, my stay at Tamasha Udaipur was a delightful experience. From the warmth of the host, the delectable food, and the stunning views, it's a place I'll fondly remember, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Udaipur...

Pragya (the owner) has done an outstanding job at creating an exceptional hostel experience. The location provides some of the best access to the City Palace and a jaw dropping view. Being in the middle of a staff transition, I got to meet her parents and eat her mother's food - which was excellent. The room was small (as expected) but sufficiently furnished, providing everything one needs (particularly reliable access to hot water). However, the top common areas are what make this place stand out - providing plenty of space to work, relax, and eat. Its size and design intriguingly lends itself to groups of people naturally drawing together for conversation while providing adequate room for people to draw aside if they need to focus on work or other activities. Pragya does a great job of engaging visitors and facilitating a sense of community and camaraderie, as well as helping them navigate the town, and ensuring they are safe and having a good time. The cherry on top is the stream of guests (both Indian and foreign) which have come to choose this place - the vast majority of whom make for great conversations, fun evenings, and exceptional travel experiences.

Stairs are steep (you will get a workout). This may be a challenge for people with mobility issues. Additionally, at 6 ft I maxed out the distance between the headboard and footboard on the bed (at least in my room). Taller persons will need to sleep at an angle - but the bed is more than wide enough to accommodate.

what a Exceptional location I literally walked most of the tourist places. Best hosts ever, pragya is so sweet and welcoming I literally felt like home there. Axit Bhaiya and zen both were very good at what they do and best part is they have female staff as well so it's best for girls. Dorms are very clean and pretty & how can I forget I learnt UNO there. Get to know about ooso and their 6hours scooty tour is the best thing you'll do in udaipur. perfect sunrise and sunset view from hostel's terrace and we played a lot of fun games there. Trust me it's worth the money and as they say you'll get Good Vibes Only.

Plain Maggie for 90 rupees is may be a bit expensive although it was so yum.

The hostel is located right beside the gate of the City palace with lots of eateries around. Everything was going fine till I had a sudden bad lower back pain the day before I had to leave for Mt Abu. I was in extreme pain and was unable to move or do anything. Pragya and her staff at the hostel helped me in getting the medicine , serving me food, even packed my suitcase. to make me feel comfortable she moved me from the dorm to a room . She helped me in rebooking my flight the next morning back to my city. Early morning her staff dropped me off at the car. i will be forever grateful to Tamasha Hostel for their assistance and kindnes in this unexpected medical emergency. thank you Pragya 💓 You are such an angel !

This property was in an ideal location only a minutes walk from the City Palace and loads of restaurants and shops. The roof top was beautiful providing us with the best sunset we have seen in India so far across Pichola Lake. The owner (Pragya) was extremely bubbly, friendly and welcoming and sat down with us chatting about all different topics as well as providing some recommendations. All the staff at the location were lovely and helped with anything needed such as laundry at a good price. This was a very social atmosphere with the staff and other travelers coming together in the evening watching the sunset, drinking masala chai and playing games/chatting. I would highly recommend to anyone.

A little noisy outside the property of a morning when sleeping but not the property's fault and tends to be the same everywhere.

This is the best location in the City. I was warm welcomed by the family who runs the place. All of them were helpful in any case. The view from the roof top Terasse is amazing, there is no better place to stay for sunset. After 2 minutes walk you will find all what travellers need. Food, Taxi if needed and all the sights are reachable on foot. I can really recommend this paradies place called Tamasha. They arranged a taxi picking me up on the airport an the owner herself took me to the Tuk-tuk stand on the very early morning when I left. They also helped me to book a busticket to my next station. You come as a stranger and you leave as a friend.

There are only a handful of places which touch your heart, Tamasha is one of them! I really like Udaipur because it's a very beautiful city but from the last couple of times, the highlight of Udaipur has been only Tamasha. The hospitality is impeccable, even though it's a hostel but still you'll get the luxury of getting a personalized experience as a solo traveller. Both the hosts Pragya & Elivia are very warm and welcoming, and ready to share all the love & experiences they've got from this city of love (Udaipur). I really like the common area at the rooftop to chill, listen to music, play some board games, or to interact with some lovely travellers. It's a nice area to enjoy being yourself and side by side enjoy the great views of Lake Pichola. Also, how can I forget the delicious food by the staff - Zain, Misbah, Akshit & Premlata, they all will make sure your tummy is full and happy:) There are endless things to talk about Tamasha, however, I will close this review with my best one - I really like the outdoor activities the Tamasha team plans to make everyone gel together irrespective of different countries and culture. If you're here for only 1-2 days, it's still a must try!! You'll be able to experience the country side of Udaipur (off-beat) which only locals know. After a couple of visits this year to this awesome place, I don't have to tell my family that I'm going to Udaipur - the name Tamasha is enough:) I wish & hope they expand & grow their Good Vibes in different t parts of India!!

I had the most wonderful time at this hostel the hosts were absolutely incredible and made me feel like family. They helped me every step of the way even when I needed an early check in they were there to welcome me. The hostel is fantastic and great value for money and the view from the cafe/chill area was really incredible. The hosts were so kind to take me on a sunset tour to a secret place overlooking the city and I went on a really nice scooter tour of surrounding areas to see all of Udaipur’s beautiful landscape. I had some really lovely food at the hostel and anything I needed was provided with no problems at all. Honestly I left a little of my heart on this place .. thank you so much for making my stay beautiful.

Yashab and Pragya are amazing hosts. Tamasha property is a cozy space where you can just lay down and relax. The location of the property is such that it's walking distance from various ghats like La ghat, Ganghor ghat, Ambrai ghat and also 2 min walk from the City Palace. You can reach Tamasha and plan your travel in Udaipur. They will help you out to map out places you could visit and how to reach certain places. Great people and great vibe. The rooms were clean and cozy. Check-in and check-out were seamless as well. Last but not the least, they have amazing views of the city from their cafe and especially the terrace.

Property is in the older part of the city, so amenities like lift isn't available at the property but it isn't a deal breaker at all.

The owners of Tamasha Udaipur have personally created a unique, great atmosphere. They took opportunities to hang out and get to know guests, creating a great sense of community. They really looked out for guests’ wellbeing, helping me sort out when and how to get to the train station after I checked out (even staff walking with me to the nearest rickshaw before dawn, which prevented the need to even do any dreaded negotiation with the rickshaw driver). The owners were also really interested in my feedback of very minor ways to make the place even better. The view from the two terraces (as well as the private room I stayed in) was amazing and in my opinion not much different from luxury (and ultra expensive) hotels nearby. I found the pictures on booking.com of the view from the private room I booked to be accurate to what I actually saw, which was nice to know what view I was getting. The private room I stayed in was very clean. I didn’t pay luxury hotel prices and don’t expect luxury hotel amenities, so I found it exceptional value for money. I found the bed to be comfortable.
