We were told that we had to stay a night here if we visited Udaipur, and despite the high cost for this time of year (peak wedding season), we are so glad we did. What a beautiful, historic place. The hotel was very responsive about arranging an airport pick-up for when we landed in Udaipur, and the transition from airport to jetty/boat to hotel was very smooth. We were only staying for one night, but the hotel upgraded us to a 3x higher level room, which was an amazing heritage suite; the upgrade really made the experience. Service throughout the stay was exemplary. Thank you especially to Jasbinder with the front desk/concierge, who helped us with so much. Strongly recommend the heritage tour/walk of the hotel and the sunset boat cruise. The Neel Kamal restaurant and Jarokha restaurant were both super good.

Our one less positive experience was with the Bhairo restaurant, which felt quite overpriced for the quality of the food. Better to go to Neel Kamal or Jarokha!

The most royal of the heritage properties in India. Excellent hospitality by Taj group. Considering what one pays for the room, the scale of amenities are limited owing to the fact that it is a heritage property, the overall experience makes up for all the lags. Would recommend to anyone visiting Udaipur!

Location is great from a distance but once inside you feel trapped. Bird noise is OK for a day but longer stay might be unbearable. Cleanliness great Reception very Good Toilet in reception very classy

It's small....rooms small, washrooms tiny, swimming pool dirty with bird poop and small, jacuzzi tiny, gym laughable, gym attached washroom a joke. Evening entertainment missed due to poor communication No other entertainment or time pass, no theatre.........etc Trapped in facility Birds noise is a nuisance Double bed had two single joined up mattresses...pathetic

On my fourth night in India, I stayed at other luxury hotels in each city, No other hotel had the atmosphere, service, hospitality, dance festival,food and excellent quality. "I was very satisfied with the high cost of accommodation that I felt before staying, but now it's equivalent to what is offered."I would like to stay here again. I am especially grateful to the following three people. Mr.Mukul paid attention to small things and provided flexible hospitality. I can hardly speak English, but without looking displeased or troubled, he kindly explained it over and over again and confirmed my understanding with my tempo. I had a good stay thanks to him who was kind.Thank you. Ms.Pratiksha When I first met her, she spoke to me in my native language, Japanese. She said she was studying Hindi, English and now Japanese and French.I'm really good at Japanese, I knew not only the language but also Japanese culture. Young as he is, he is smart and can treat others with respect.He is younger than me, but I respected him from the bottom of my heart. Mr.Narendra They took the time to take the best pictures in the boat.Good photography is a tool for telling good memories.It was helpful because it was difficult to ask for photos when traveling alone. I was satisfied with everything.

The amazing scenery and the very friendly staff. Especially Dinesh (gardener) who helped us taking very nice photos. He has such talent that's very valuable to guests who may struggle getting the best photos. So we really appreciate that.

Too much bird poops everywhere. I feel like it's almost a birds hotel, they are everywhere! And we have to dodge around the poops, as the outdoor seats maybe covered with poops... Also the bathroom is really small. Toilet paper is positioned too low, it's difficult to get it.

The Lake Palace is one of the rare hotels where we stayed for three nights and two full days and never left the hotel, just relaxed in it's surroundings except for their sunset boat trip around the late..... and felt it was all a special experience. The rooftop restaurant was the best because of the views. You are able to relax in numerous little areas of tranquility - often by yourself. There are extra touches that add to the romance of the property, for example the man playing the flute in the mornings bathing the courtyard in soothing sounds. Sitting in the bar was a joy given the original decorations.

The one thing that would have made it even better would have been easier access to breakfast outside.

Exceptional to take a little boat to reach the hotel on the Lake Pichola, a myth!! Beautiful architecture from inside, a place with charm and a lot of character, Very good food at the continental restaurant and good breakfast. Nice local show for guests at 5.45pm + nice excursions organised to other island. Nice little pool and nice Hamman

The hotel is shabby in places - for a 5* hotel this should be corrected. The gym is a joke and not to standards one could expect from an international chain such a TAJ. It would also be nice to tip at the end of the stay (like it is done in other 5* hotels) instead of tipping each time and everyday. A bit of a pain....Breaksfast is very nice but not enough space around the buffet + staff overwhelmed by number of people (we had to wait to get bowls to serve ourselves fruits, wait for milk, ... on both mornings - we stayed 2 nights). Very expensive compared to other 5* as well... The most expensive of all our 3 weeks stay in India... Is it really worth it?

We stayed for 3 nights from 10th-13th July l. We had three rooms. My wife and I were upgraded to the Queens room number 116 and it was incredible. The best room that I have ever stayed in around the world. The location of the hotel is spectacular! The staff were so kind. My wife had to go home early because her mother was ill and Sudarshan the duty manager was so helpful. He prepared breakfast for her to take on her trip as she had an early flight. He also stayed on beyond his shift ending time to ensure we got our taxis . Mukul at the swimming pool was excellent and could not have been more helpful. A once in a lifetime wonderful experience made special by the kindest of staff

Serene location. Very calm, quiet and beautiful. Rooms have an old world charm and glamour. You really feel like you’re in a palace The staff is amazingly warm and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Food at Neel Kamal is excellent.

I went with my mother who had difficulty with the stairs at times. However I understand that it’s a heritage property and they aren’t allowed to install an elevator.

I liked the character of property and staff hospitality.

The property offers boat accessibility, which is a wonderful attraction. However, if you plan to explore the city and reach the shore, the Taj property doesn't offer any transportation to the nearest public transport hubs. This results in having to walk at least 500 meters with children, particularly uncomfortable during hot weather. While you can request transportation and the Taj will organize an electric cart for you, it comes at your own expense. This means waiting for the cart to arrive and paying for a mere 500-meter journey. One might assume that a prestigious property like the Taj would prioritize making transportation convenient for their paying guests, but unfortunately, this is not the case here.
