What a beautiful sight. Wroth of every penny. We spent three nights there with my college’s friend. We really enjoyed our stay. Very cosy, nice view from the balcony and very quiet place. Back garden was also very organised and food was delicious except chicken biriyany. We know that monsoon season was not right time to visit Shimla but we really enjoyed the off season. We got struck inside the house due to heavy rains but in the evening we enjoyed our walk at the city centre and mall road. But in the night it is quiet difficult to reach the due to stiff slope and lack of street light. Manager and others staff were very helpful and friendly.

Due to rainy weather there were no room service but when we asked they replaced our towels.

Location is ideal for someone who prefers natural surroundings and solitude. Property is 0.5 km away from road but connectivity is no problem as they provide free car ride upto the road. Neat and clean, very well maintained, very good ambience. Food is very good, tasty and reasonably priced. Staff is very helpful. Caretaker Mr. Shlok is a thorough gentleman — very understanding, accomodating and helpful. We forgot some books on checkout. He very kindly sent these to us by courier. Thank you Shlok.

I am scared of big dogs and they have a pet, who it appears didn't like me 😁

As promised, Shimla British Resort offered a pleasant stay at a heritage property. The amenities were top notch and the staff were very helpful. It's located pretty close to the Mall Road though down a steep slope. The host was kind enough to offer drops to the Vidhan Sabha chowk which made things quite convenient. The cottages are located right next to a forest so you get to enjoy the peace and the staff even though you're in a bustling city like Shimla. Spotted many birds hopping about, including a blue whistling thrush. Overall, a great place to stay.

The location is a bit out of the way and the stairs are quite a climb. Could be a bit exhausting, so be prepared to hustle a bit.

The location is very good as it’s bang in the middle of the city with a great view of the Glen Forest. We went there for a function. It has a very open space so good to walk around and enjoy the fresh air. Food is freshly prepared so it takes 30-45 minutes for it to come. But it’s like home food without extra masala / gravy so that’s very good. The staff was helpful in preparing our early morning breakfast as we had a road journey starting at 8am. We got auto room upgrade also. It is very peaceful & close to nature & we liked it very much & will repeat it in near future.

Would have liked a few more options in the menu. Otherwise, the food is upto mark.

The rooms are a bit dated. More upkeep required. The owner was a very nice and friendly younster.The food was surprisingly tasty. Though the hotel is just around 2 km from the Mall Road, we felt cutoff. The hotel does offer you a free drop and pickup.

The upkeep of the rooms. Paint was peeling off, wood rotting etc. Curtains were jarring. There was no room as such where the guests could congregate. The hotel has potential if more money is invested and uses the service of a good interior decorator.

It was my first trip to Shimla I had booked other hotel which was not good but finally we checked in at Shimla British Resort. It was a really nice place with a nice view from the rooms. The rooms and washrooms were neat and clean and food was excellent. The staff has been really helpful and kind our all I had a great and nice stay.

The approach is a little steep however if you travel with a car, its not an issue. Proper tarmaced road.

The Indian food is delicious. Whether it is the simple Chai and Paratha, or the Exotic Mughlai dishes, there is an exquisite taste mixed with the fresh odor of the Himalayan Pine tress around. To be fair. Continental options are limited or unavailable ( if you prefer that). Overall, for the inhabitants of urban cement jungles, deprived of fresh air and uncontaminated food , this is a heavenly retreat ( for 2-3 days).

Avoid the rooms 501-503 as there is a lot of ambient noise from the restaurant upstairs. The late night dancing and music by the monkey gangs from the urban cities around can be a dampener. I had to tolerate some of this. The reception and staff came to my rescue. In spite of the aggressive refusals from the monkey gang, they managed to get the music turned down. It was 12.30 am.

Excellent service by the staff. They are extremely polite. I'm overwhelmed by their behavior mainly. Also the food was delicious. The local cuisines are to die for. If I ever visit Shimla again I'm definitely looking forward to staying in this property. It was lush green all around with rainy weather making it even more pleasant. Rooms were clean and veranda was spacious. The pick up and drop facility to the Mall Road was really handy.

The property is near to the centre city yet I selected with Deodhar trees and gives the field of staying with nature

 approach road to the property is having a difficult slope and steep climbing is required. Vehicle is must in the property to access restaurant and other property rooms, steep stairs, or to be used, which can be a difficult for 40+ and elderly.

This is one best stay in shimla. Away from the crowded places. The hospitality is the best here. They help you in any way they can. specially Bobby helped us alot during our stay. They gave references for cabs as well. Overall a 10 from my end.

As the theme is old time based the bed are old nothing else aprt from that. If you have old people who can't walk or use stairs then this is not for you.
