We stayed for three nights. This magnificent hotel is a little lost, as on one side its beach has been swept away leaving a rough volcanic stone beach and on the other it just manages to escape the only and very busy road running down this cost, so you do need some extracurricular activity (the hotel offers countless tours and we had a car, so no problem for us) 0ther than that, the grounds are immaculate, the rooms are pleasant, the restaurant gave us the best food we’ve eaten in the 10 days we were in Bali, the room service was incredible (they clean your room while your have breakfast, and things ordered from the reception arrived within a minute or two, every time). We also check out the neighbouring hotels in the area and we thought we’d done best. Highly recommend

Nothing worth mentioning

The views of ocean, walking the beach, my friend had ocean front massage and facial which she loved. Our dinner was phenomenal we both had mahi mahi but different ways. I had it Balinese curry and probably my favorite meal in Bali. Dessert was a perfect ending to dinner. Breakfast was really good too.

I didn't experience this but my friend staying in room said bed was a little hard and uncomfortable.

I stayed at Alila on the east coast to avoid crowds. The hotel has a first-class environment, with free afternoon tea and shuttle buses every day. The restaurant has a great environment and taste. The scenery is fantastic, with zero distance to the beach. You can choose paid seaside yoga and massage, which will make you very relaxed. Staff member Budi was enthusiastic and thoughtful. After learning that my husband was sick, he took the initiative to care and offered coconut water, saying it was good for the digestive system. The only drawback is that the water in the swimming pool is not clean enough; Even if we live on the second floor, the sheets will still be damp and we need to use a hair dryer to blow them off before going to bed every day.

The rooms are a bit tiny, but very comfy. This hotel only has 55 rooms, which make it really "quite" even during the high-season. The locations helps as well, far away from the crowded places in Bali. We only used our front door once we checked in and once we checked out. Through the back door the garden and pool were only a few steps away. I traveled here with my 5 year old son, yes there isn't a kids club. But with an amazing pool, a small badminton field, and really nice grass to play soccer you don't need more to entertain a kid. What I liked was the a la carte breakfast concept, so no queuing or whatever once you've breakfast. Amazing place, will come back for sure!

The lack of activities onsite was great as it allowed us to chill and enjoy the beauty of the property without feeling like we should be doing something. The breakfast concept of order-as-you-please is to be applauded, as it prevents food waste and the selection and portions were of great value. Well done!

Nothing to complain abt Alila itself, but Candidasa really lacks good eateries. Alila’s restaurant was by far the best, thanks for being there! We enjoyed every meal - the roast chicken and mash was our fav!!

There is so much to love about this beautiful property. It is the most tranquil and scenic location with views of mountains yet right on the ocean. The architecture is grand old style Bali but with stylish modern comforts.The pool is lovely and the pool service with fresh towels, chilled water and afternoon tea makes for a super relaxing stay. We swam daily in the ocean and it is crystal clear and accessible from the resort. My husband enjoyed the tai chi classes and I used the yoga pavilion for personal exercise. Breakfasts are memorable at Alila and the meals we had in the evening were good. The restaurant manager Aryana has been at Alila forever and is a great host and resource for all things Bali. Although this hotel is just emerging from Covid 19 it is spotlessly maintained and running perfectly. 10/10 from us for Alila Manggis.

The pool umbrellas are a little small if you require shade.

It felt like walking into paradise. The peacefulness of the ocean sounds, the light breeze to cool you down, the amazingly well kept grounds, getting a heavenly experience at the spa with the waves in the background, walking through the coconut grove barefoot, the flawless service and kindness of the staff.

In my opinion the food wasn’t amazing, the selection was limited and it didn’t deliver in the flavor department.

This is heaven. The best grounds, pool, staff, location. Restaurant is great. Everyone (and I mean everyone from security guard to housemaid to Manager ) made us feel so welcome. Nothing too much trouble. Don’t miss the spa… beautiful treatments. I’d had a fall and hurt my ankle before arriving here and anything I needed (from medication to local healer to ice to concerned inquiries) was organised with great attentiveness. And did I say this place is divinely beautiful - not too big, not pretentious but leaves you feeling like a million dollars. We’ll be back asap.

Loved the complimentary afternoon tea by the sea - nice for guests to gather. The cakes could be a little more special though…. That’s the only thing!

Location is superb, resort view is outstanding. There is no proper beach but you can still walk while it's low tide time. Staff is super helpful. Definitely recommend for couples and families if there want to spend time in resort only. Complementary photoshoot is pretty good too. Food is great but very little options. There is free shuttle to candidasa. Its so photogenic resort. Highly recommend for couple if you spend some quality time at resort.

Food options are very little specially if you are Indian. I suggest more activities around the resort like archery, kite flying, open movies for kids etc. . As there is not much to do outside the resort. Wifi connection is very bad, you just can't do anything. And paid resort activities are bit expensive I guess.

It is divine. Quiet, picturesque, hospitable. The staff are are really friendly and helpful. The pool is great, felt like a mineral pool. You can hear the beach waves when walking around the hotel. The room is comfortable and clean. Candi Dasa town is 7 mins away, the hotel offer a free shuttle bus at two times of the day, if you miss that, the hotel offer a driver for additional IDR 90k. Overall absolutely loved my stay here, highly recommend.

It’s 7 mins out of town, but that provides a lovely quiet position overlooking the ocean. A real escape from any hustle and bustle.
