I was initially afraid that I would be too isolated from everything else at Ayu Hills, but with a trusted scooter, staying in the hills was an absolute pleasure! The ride down to the closes beach town (10 min) goes by quickly and it was exhilarating to ride through the jungle and past small charming villages. After a long day out on Penida, coming back to the serenity of Ayu Hills was a treat. The views are stunning, the rooms very comfortable, and Made and his family are so charming and accommodating. Stay here if you’re looking for an authentic experience away of the hustle and bustle of trafic and city life!

The location of the property is just mind blowing. If you are planning on a silent and peaceful visit just go for this place.

Breakfast options could be improved

The staff were lovely. The surroundings are beautiful and the breakfast was also great. The bed was comfortable too!

A few mosquitoes got into the bathroom due to the open section for ventilation. It did have mesh wire over the opening but the gaps are big. Maybe finer mesh would help keep bugs out :)

Everything was amazing, especially the view! Breakfast was amazing and location are good. Given no easy transport in Nusa Penida, they were able to help us book a guide for tours and also take us to lunch and dinner. Facilities themselves are great, comfy rooms with everything you need.

Location on the top of the hill was something amazing. Only nature sounds. Some exceptional experience. The breakfast was tasty, room was beautiful and comfortable, the staff and owner extreme friendly and helpful. We would come back definitively, one of our favourite places.

great place for privacy. we came here with friends, some of our friends were already live here. we celebrated my birthday and i liked the place so much. i stayed for 5 more days. . very quiet, on the mountain. great view in all directions. the owner is great and always ready to help.. the location is good, so active you are almost in the center of the island. and i really like the green color of the bathtub and the garden inside the bathtub. it creates a special atmosphere..

- The bungalows are set on top of a hill, overlooking what might be Teletubbies hill. - At night, you can hear the sounds of nature and, in the morning, you are awaken by a natural alarm of roosters and prayers. - The staff are very hospitable and lovely to deal with. The breakfast omelette is delicious! - Although a few reviews say that the property is not within walking distance of restaurants, this is actually not true. Deep roots (the terrace) is a lovely 20 minute walk down the hill and has an amazing indonesian soup and fish dish (snapper) that was unbelievable. Town is a quick 45 minute walk downhill and has so many lovely options right near the water.

For such a good price, you cannot complain.

The only downside of the charm of living and sleeping in a traditional house like this with thin walls is that you can hear the AC of the neighbour if they use it during night.

This stay was amazing! Not only was the view from the cliff stunning, the bungalow itself was nice and spacious. The owner (Mate) and the rest of the staff were extremly friendly and took care of all our wishes (e.g. renting a scooter, ordering food, calling a taxi to the habour). The breakfast was also good. We coulnd`t have been any happier with our stay, can only recommend!!
