Basically everything outdoor is great - the view is great in the day... sunshine, rice fields, duck, lovely villa...indeed peaceful from the hustle and bustle. I arrived at 10 pm and when I went into the room, I wanted to cancaled the order but when I woke up in the morning, I was healed. - Great breakfast. Enjoyable when you have breakfast on the second floor with cool breathe and view

Basically facilities indoor is a bit disappointing - Hundreds of ants in the room at night, everywhere....even 1 or 2 on the flat sheet... I don't know why other reviews didn't mention this but for me this is the biggest issue - The villa is literally in the rice fields, which is good and bad. Do read the messages beforehand otherwise you can never reach the place with googlemap - Also be mindful that if pay by credit card, there is aditional charge so prepare enough cash

A gorgeous place and location over looking the rice fields. The staff were exceptional. Breakfast was better than most of the local cafes and I could have it on the rooftop or at my room. Big comfy bed and huge bathroom… and the best shower! First one I’ve had in all my Bali stays that didn’t have a plumbing problem. There was a huge outside kitchen and eating area with a clean fridge and kitchen utensils. The room was serviced daily and my hosts Made & Wayan and their lovely staff made sure that I was well looked after.

My only comment is that Yoga Union who rent/own the building next door need to finish the outside of the building (or at least tidy it) as it a really ugly eyesore on the other side of rice field.

It was nice to be a good distance away from the busy part of Ubud. The short scooter/walk up the path to the rice terraces makes a huge difference with the level of the noise from downtown Ubud. The property is clean and inviting. I really enjoyed the pool and rooftop eating area.

The property is great, the surrounding properties are not so great. One thing I would like to mention is that in my villa, there seems to be a sewer gas leak coming from the bathroom. When you sleep there you awake in the morning smelling sewer gases. My guess is the toilet doesn’t have a proper seal or maybe the piping in the shower is allowing gases in.

Location was beautiful, so peaceful in the rice paddies away from the rat race that is town Ubud. Rooms big, clean and lovely. Included breakfast was spectacular, heaps of food and delicious. Staff were gorgeous - always friendly and obliging. A stroll from downtown Ubud, but the walking path can get busy with motorcycles. Not accessible by car which we loved.

While not a deal breaker, I think the room we needed a couple of inside chairs and drinking glasses. Maybe the big water unit to fill up personal drinking bottles. I believe anything possible should be done to cut down on giving out plastic bottles (we got 3 a day provided and Ubud, like the rest of Bali, definitely needs to do something about waste and plastic disposal).

Amazing location overlooking the rice fields. It's not exactly in the centre of Ubud which makes it the perfect location for people looking for a quiet stay in a beautiful & nature-filled area. The pool and common areas are nice and very well-mantained, the staff is SO friendly and the breakfast is really good. Looking at the sunset from our villa was truly unique. Definitely recommend this place!

I have nothing bad to say. Just keep in mind if you want to be in the centre of Ubud you have a 20 minute walk from this wonderful property + to get there you need to be picked up by a motorbike as it's not reachable by car.

You gain serious value for money with the complimentary breakfast - was stuffed and didn't need to get anything for a while which makes it easy to save a bit of money. Cahaya is a bit hard to find from the road but the constant and early communication from the staff made everything so easy - they messaged us prior to arrival on where to meet them, and they so kindly transported us and our heavy bags to our rooms via scooter. Whenever we asked for something (extra towels, food, or advice on transfers to other areas of Bali), all the staff did all they could to help and made life really easy for us. Cannot thank the staff more highly. Our room had our own deck / cooking area which made it easy for us to relax. Loved the peaceful surroundings - nice break from the busy streets of Ubud. Location wise - the hotel is up a long, cute road with small cafes and shops, easily accessible via walking or scooter.

If I had to pick, the curtains and mosquito nets all had a bit of mould on them, and so did the shower. But honestly, not a huge drama for us considering everything else factored in.

This villa is just incredible. Me and my girlfriend stayed there for 4 days and both agreed it was our best place we stayed overall in Bali. It’s so peaceful, which made our mornings and evenings so relaxing and quiet after a busier time out in the city during the day. The villa is located in the middle of rice fields, not far at all from the main streets of Ubud. Car can’t access the area of the accommodation, which we thought it meant the villa was remote. But that’s not the case. It’s a 12/15 min walk to the main street, and if you don’t fancy walking, drivers and Grab scooters are always around the area (will take about 5 to 7 minutes drive to the main street). Couple of restaurants, coffee and breakfast places are within walking distance. The stuff is very lovely too. Once we arrived our room was still getting cleaned so they offered us a welcome drink for the waiting time. Laundry service was good, even with little anticipation from our side, they were still able to do our laundry and give it to us within the same day. On our last morning it was so special to receive our to go breakfast from the staff . Around 6.30 am !!! That was a real sign of care from the staff. They also had arranged pickup at the airport for us for very cheap prize. Will definitely come back ! And we wish we stayed there longer. Filippo and Mika

It’s a beautiful property right in between rice fields but very close to Ubud market and nice restaurants. But the most important is manager of property Mr. Wayan and his wife. They are so nice and take care of all the needs and wishes of guests. I had an early morning flight and Mrs. Wayan prepared breakfast for us at 5:00 am and we asked her not to make as it’s very early but she is so nice that she prepared breakfast for us. That’s how caring she is. I am definitely gonna recommend this beautiful property.

Nothing is there which i didn’t like

The location of the villa is great. From the main road it is a bit of a walk, but upon arrival the staff helped us with the luggage on a motorbike. While staying here, we loved the quite and peaceful atmosphere right in the middle of the ricefields. There are also a lot of amazing coffee, lunch and dinner places on walking distance. Aside of the location and the surrounding atmosphere, the very friendly and sincere staff of the villa made it a stay we will never forget. Thanks a lot. We will come back for sure!

Villa Cahaya was the best accommodation we stayed in during our six-week visit to Bali. It is in an excellent location and is worthy of a high recommendation. Perched amidst the lush green rice fields, Villa Cahaya is a mere stone's throw from the bustling centre of Ubud. It's a peaceful retreat, a short walk from many eateries and the local Ubud Yoga schools. My wife visited a nearby retreat, which was well-priced and offered a range of yoga and meditation sessions. Villa Cahaya offers a variety of accommodation options. We opted for a first-floor villa with breathtaking views. The villa, a recent addition, was impeccably clean and well-equipped, providing everything we needed for our stay. Although we didn't indulge, the spacious bathroom had a bath with a fantastic view. The linen and other amenities were all fresh and spotlessly clean, ensuring a comfortable and hygienic stay. Our room was serviced daily. We found that Villa Cahaya is a collection of bespoke small villas. They surround a beautiful and, again, spotlessly clean swimming pool. With full access to the Balinese sun, this was a highlight, as most villas we have stayed in come with some blind spots. The focal point for Villa Cahaya is the two-story 'Restu'. It is from here that the most beautiful food is served. The food was easily a highlight of our stay. We had a fantastic array of options to satisfy anyone, and the food was made with the freshest ingredients. After visiting the nearby fitness centre, even my voracious appetite was catered for. My favourite breakfast items included coffee, fresh watermelon juice, a local omelette and a fruit platter. That kept me well-fed for the rest of the day until dinner at a nearby restaurant. The service at Villa Cahaya is first-class. The staff are friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. I was given excellent advice and support accessing local tourist highlights.
