The hospitality and excellent customer service was at a level that we have never experienced before. The owners Ian and Una, along with all their staff went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable, and made us feel welcomed. We enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant, followed by drinks and a lively evening of entertainment at the hotel bar. The rooms were very comfortable and every detail was thought of, including a fan in the closet for guests who prefer cool air when they sleep. The breakfast, which is included with the stay, was delicious. The selections covered all the bases and the staff were happy to make any changes or additions desired. We look forward to staying at the Blarney Castle Hotel on future trips to Ireland!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blarney Castle Hotel. The staff was amazingly friendly and helpful. They even helped park our car, as this was our first day driving in Ireland and we were intimidated by the narrow driveway into the car park. Rooms were beautifully decorated and very comfortable. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel - both were wonderful. The location of the hotel is perfect for a visit to Blarney Castle, which is literally a two minute walk from the hotel.

If you plan on visiting Blarney Castle, the Blarney Castle Hotel is a must visit! The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the entrance gate of the castle. Ian is the owner and he is a fantastic host, his staff was professional, quick and friendly. The hotel is really a homey, comfy and well appointed large B&B. The food was excellent, the complimentary breakfast (with an overnight stay) was literally the best breakfast we had in Ireland. Don't miss out on the Eggs Benedict with fresh spinach and the best bacon ever. Fresh squeezed OJ and coffee was better than most cafes, along with warm homemade muffins and local butter and jelly. We left completely satisfied and thanks to Ian's insights and the proximity to the castle, we were there at 9am when they opened. We walked straight to the castle, no lines, no wait and were # 3-7 to kiss the Blarney stone and tour the castle. We spent the next 3 hours visiting all the spots Ian told us about, we felt like we had the entire grounds to ourselves. By the time we left, the lines were enormous with a 2 + hour wait for the castle. Ian set us straight and we took our time and really enjoyed the day, long before the buses arrived. We arrived 2 hours early and Ian and his staff had 2 rooms cleaned top to bottom, side by side (queen bed for us and 2 twins for the kids) in less than 30 minutes. The beds were comfortable, the rooms nicely appointed and immaculate. Ian runs the best bar in town, based on the enthusiastic crowd who gathered to watch England defeat Switzerland in a dramatic shootout victory! The restaurant on the opposite side of the bar, serves some of the best food we had. Can't say enough about this special place, our amazing and genuine host Ian and his amazing staff! Forget the overpriced bus tours, crowds and waiting 2 hours in line to kiss the stone, just stay with Ian and save time and money and make special memories, that only a stay at the Blarney Castle Hotel can offer!

Absolutely nothing, just wish we would have booked a 2nd night!

The rooms are large with big windows and lots of light. Very clean and newly decorated. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! Do not skip this. The location is perfect for going to Blarney Castle and even exploring Cork.

Unfortunately there was no one to check us in and staff had to go off and find someone. This left us standing around waiting. Again upon checking out, no one was at the desk and available. But this was the only area the wasn't up to the same excellent standards everywhere else in the hotel.

We loved our Castle room, the staff and service couldn't have been better. We were more than satisfied with all of our meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner ending with sticky toffee pudding and Irish coffee) The gardens were also spectacular!! We stayed in 7 different accommodation locations during our 2 weeks in Ireland and Northern Ireland and Ballygally Castle Hotel was by far our favorite.

We wished we could have stayed longer

The management and staff were incredibility friendly as was the level of service especially at the breakfast service. There was a extensive choice at both dinner and breakfast. The hotel was also in a great location within walking distance of Blarney Castle. The Blarney Castle Hotel's service level, atmosphere and quality of meals far exceeded that of other places we stayed at in Ireland including a 5 star hotel.

Nothing

The location was right next to the castle which made it a fantastic place to say if you're going to spend a day at the castle. The rooms were a pretty good size and the food was absolutely amazing. The staff were friendly and treated us well.

My dad found a nice large spider in his room and it's probably because they leave the windows open most of the time. It would be nice to have screens on the windows but that might not be something that is common in Ireland. The rooms had a lot of dust behind the furniture. Wifi was hard to find a stable connection. Parking is very very tight and limited. Supposed to be for guests only but no one monitors it and with only 5 spots, we weren't able to always park there.

The hotel was within a 2 minute walk to Blarney Castle. The restaurant was superb for evening dining, lots of choices and food was presented well, very tasty and a great selection of breakfast choices. Staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful. The room was big, a lovely walk-in shower and the usual amenities. Nothing was a bother to the staff. We got the room for an excellent price for the 3rd week in August. Would highly recommend this hotel!

The only downside is there are only 5 parking spaces at the back of the hotel and a 6th very tiny space for a very small car. There is only 2 hour parking on the main road opposite the hotel and the town is very busy.

The accommodation albeit very nice was rather small for two! the surroundings though were fantastic.

The bedroom we were allocated was quite small. The car parking was not available to us albeit booked due to the car park being to small. The venue had a function on and the attendees used all the parking that was available to guests staying overnight. This resulted in us having to park around the corner at the Woollen Mills. However it is only two minutes around the corner. Breakfast was a let down, there seemed to be a lack of staff and our order was forgotten.

The staff the morning after our arrival was amazing!!! We went down for breakfast and they were so attentive and answering all our questions. Room was nice and spacious very clean. Window opened out to the front so you could look out at the park across the street. Blarney castle is literally a five minute walk which was perfect! I honestly cannot say enough how wonderful the owners are and even with the few bumps we had they were extremely apologetic. This property really is beautiful and u would stay here again.

The evening we arrived they were having a birthday party at the bar inside so trying to check in was really chaotic just trying to figure out where to go then getting 7 people’s luggage up three flights of stairs when it was elbow to elbow people. It worked out in the end just wish we would have been aware about limited parking that night and the noise until about 2am.
