On arrival, Vanessa was a very welcoming host and explained everything to me as she showed me to my room. The room was comfortably warm and clean comfortable bedding and pillows supplied. Excellent shower in the small but well equipped bathroom. The breakfast room was bright, warm and comfortable and there was plenty of food choice available.

As the room that I was in was at the top of the house, the ceiling was sloped in because of the roof pitch. This made it feel a bit smaller than it actually was. The room also could do with a small table and chair, and there was room for such. Beside the bed, there was a dressing table with a stool, but that was used for the tea/coffee tray and the welcome folder, so not much room left for my use.

This was an excellent location for accessing Cork, the room was clean, and the staff worked hard when interacting with the guests. Previous reviews have mentioned soft white fluffy towels - I can agree with that description!

Not the fault of the owners - I was in a front bedroom (room 12) where the traffic was really noisy, plus I was beside the reception area and was disturbed each time the front door was slammed shut. The shower was great although the extractor fan only worked when the light was switched on, which meant the en-suite bathroom smelt damp most of the time. There were beautiful and huge sized curtains at the window which were hard to draw shut. This meant the street lighting flooded my bedroom throughout the night, although it was slightly easier to handle than the traffic noise. Should also mention only Netflix available on the TV, perhaps a good thing given the gloomy current world affairs during my stay .....

I enjoyed many aspects of my stay: The staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and supportive. Breakfast was delicious and offered generous portions. There was a dining area available for all guests, which my daughter appreciated while she read and coloured. The view of the Lee River made the experience even more enjoyable. I loved having reliable Wi-Fi and access to Netflix in the room. The heaters worked perfectly whenever needed. The rooms were cleaned on a daily basis, which added to the overall comfort of our stay. Overall, a cosy and comfortable stay.

The toilet /shower room were quite small; however, the water was always hot and had a good pressure

If you are looking for a luxurious place, this is not the place for you. However, if you want to sleep well, not worry about parking and be close to the centre of Cork, then by all means. My misfortune was the bad weather because the coffee on the terrace behind the house would have tasted delicious. Personally, if I need to stay in Cork again, it will definitely be here. I highly recommend it

Unfortunately, I was only there for one night and I couldn't find anything to complain about.

Great location for a short walk into the main town centre area which is rammed with a great choice bars and restaurants. Room and bed was very comfortable, excellent shower, all very clean and quiet. Parking is available onsite although this got very busy later so arrive early if possible. Breakfast was fantastic, good choice off the menu and the staff from check in to serving were really nice and helpful. They have a very nice area right outside the breakfast room overlooking the area. Too cold and wet to do so when I stayed but would be great on slightly warmer dry days!

Nothing I did not like.

Stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting Cork. We were visiting from Australia on a driving holiday. Owners were friendly and helpful checking us in and showing us to our room. Parking off street in front of the accommodation is available but is tight. But they do also have a secure gated area 2 doors down where we parked our car. Our room itself was nicely decorated and clean. Bed was comfy for a good night sleep. Shower was hot, with great pressure. Breakfast was nice with hot or cold selections. They also had the best coffee - best on the trip so far! The breakfast room also had an awesome river view. Guests gave access to a communal microwave and large fridge in a lounge area which was really handy to use. Local english market was nice for grabbing some dinner. Overall a lovely stay here, would recommend to others. Location was handy to nearby sightseeing, shopping and food.

TV movies were via internet and when everyone was online of an evening the movie sometimes froze as it couldn’t cope. Room was a little cool until we asked owner and they boosted it the heating.

We arrived very early, expecting to leave our luggage until check-in time, but were pleasantly surprised to get early check-in, after a little wait on the beautiful riverside veranda. The room was spacious and had it's own riverside veranda (shared with one room). The staff were all - reception, breakfast, cleaners - incredibly friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good - to order and we again ate outside by the river. We did a walking circuit of the main sights of Cork right from the hotel - no need to drive anywhere as it is near the scenic university campus and not excessively far from the center. Parking at the hotel was tight (glad we had rented a small car) but free and available. There was a microwave, fridge / freezer, table and chairs in a shared space outside our room which were able to use. We stayed in 9 different hotels / apartments during our visit to Ireland and this was our favorite - wish we had more than one night there. Highly recommended.

Getting to breakfast required going outside and into a different part of the hotel, but that wasn't a problem in July.

The staff was friendly and immediately offered me a complimentary coffee when I arrived. The room was small but plenty for me since I was alone. It's a charming little B&B.

I was a little concerned that the door to my room did not meet my expectations of being comfortable alone in my room. It just did not seem very secure, but the entry ways to the building seemed secure enough to makeup for this. I was also disappointed with the wifi connection as there was no stability if you wanted to watch TV. It was also quite loud just with other guests moving around in their rooms. I was not aware that breakfast had to be paid for in advance, so make sure it is included your final price.

The guest house is easy to find and there is parking on site and nearby. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Bathroom has a good sized bath with jacuzzi functions which was very nice :) The property is less than 10 minutes walk from the city centre. It's also on a bus route in if that is preferred. Two parks are minutes from the site and only fractionally further is the riverside walk along the River Lee.

The room was rather compact but we out all day so this wasn't an issue.

Shandon Bells is a lovely guesthouse located a quick 15 min walk from the main city. My room overlooked the River Lee which was lovely to see each morning. Comfortable bed, ample pillows. Tea and coffee station at the end of the bed which was well supplied and refreshed each day. Shower and bathroom was very clean, soft towels and toiletries provided as well. Close to a bus stop and great lunch café across the road if you miss the cooked breakfast.

A bit of noise from other guests, Shandon Bells does have quiet hours after 21:00 however people didn’t always adhere. Not the property’s fault just something to be aware of. If you are staying in the back half (river side) of the property you will also hear the dining hall below, and you will definitely smell the delicious fry-up breakfasts.
