We stayed in some really nice B&B's whilst in Ireland and have found ourselves giving top marks to several but Nymphsfield House was our favourite for a number of reasons but the main one was our hostess, Mary, who couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful. We were not alone in our views and met other guests who expressed very similar opinions. Breakfast time at Nymphsfield House was a very sociable occasion for us with plenty of friendly chatter with other guests, some of whom were staying there for work reasons and others on holiday like ourselves. Some clearly stayed there on a regular basis. We had a comfortable room with two easy chairs so we could both sit and read but there was also a communal area upstairs where we could get tea, coffee and biscuits if we wanted them. The house is very close to Cong village and Ashford Castle, the former home of the Guinness family and now a hotel. In fact Nymphsfield House may be the nearest house to the Castle entrance. The castle is very dramatic and boasts its own 9 hole golf course that is open to non residents. The Cong river, containing salmon and trout, runs close to the castle and the village of Cong is very picturesque. In the future my wife and I plan on returning to Nymphsfield House for a longer stay and look forward to doing so.
Nothing. For us it was an ideal B&B.

This is a lovely property, in a nice quiet location. There was ample parking to the side of the building. Mary, our host, was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was a very good size, with a view over the surrounding fields. The breakfast was lovely, with a full choice of options, including a full Irish breakfast (which I had on most mornings!). The tea station on the landing was also a very nice touch. Thank you for the biscuit selection as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and will stay again next time we are visiting.
Nothing.

We have stayed in several hotels and condos on our long travel through Ireland. This is far and away the best we have experienced. Mary is an incredible host with such a beautiful home that she shares with guests. We stayed two nights and wished we could have spent many more. You will never find a better breakfast! We are so happy to have found this lovely place and highly recommended it. If it's available, book it now!

This is a well run establishment that know how to treat guest. It is conveniently for travel and visiting in area. Met with fresh coffee, nicely appointed room within house. Self contained ensuite. Small sitting area for guests with coffee, cookies, pamphlets and books. Hosts have knowledge of area and are just the right amount of friendly. Quiet, easy to find, good parking, and great breakfast options.
Nothing really not to love about this place.

The hosts were warm, friendly and accommodating. Mary and Gerry are wonderful people. I was on a golf trip, and Mary made sure that my early morning needs were met. She did not have to do that, but I am eternally grateful for her kindness. If you are traveling to Cong, Nymphsfield House is the place to stay.
I cannot think of one thing that I did not like.

Mary welcomed us with tea / coffee on our arrival and even provided tea / coffee in the even on our return from our evenings out. The breakfasts were exceptional and freshly made with lots of variety and professionally served with a smile. Mary couldn't do enough for us and made sure we had a lovely time. The location was also perfect and a lovely comfortable room. I can understand the high ratings and totally agree with them. Mary and her B & B go above and beyond. Thanks so much Mary for making us feel so welcome and we hope to stay again soon :))
There was nothing we didn't like. Everything was perfect.

Stayed for 2 nights from 21/9. Excellent location 10 minute easy walk from centre of Cong, passing by ashford castle hotel and lovely garden area before you arrive at village. Super comfy bed/linen. Spacious car park and amazing food at breakfast. Lovely owners who made you feel very welcome. Would not hesitate to stay if in area again.

When I booked I only put down one guest instead of two. I didn't notice til a few days before. I emailed and Mary said it wasn't a problem. the room I had booked was a small double but due to a cancellation she gave us a bigger room.Mary greeted us at the door. Showed us to our room. asked if we would like tea/coffee. said if we wanted any later to help ourselves she showed us where everything was and even had biscuits we could have with our cups. We didn't have the breakfast but it smelt amazing. Would defiantly stay there again. We had a wedding in Ashford lodge and its only 5mins away. We arrived back after 4pm and our room was nice and toasty and it was minus 2outside.
Cannot fault one thing.

Mary was the perfect host. She was very welcoming and has a warm personality. As soon as we arrived, she treated us to a lovely afternoon tea, which was completely unexpected. Our room was spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable indeed. Breakfast options were extensive and very delicious. What we didn't eat was offered to take away to eat later in the day! Fantastic value for money
