We liked the age and character of the Georgian property. The staff was most welcoming and helpful. Our family group of eight could stay in one location, which simplified our planning. We could walk a block to the bus stop at Mountjoy Square and ride to O’Connell Bridge or Trinity College, from which we had easy walks to museums and restaurants. We chose to have breakfast at Harvey’s and enjoyed the variety and beautiful presentation. Nicholas and Robert, our hosts, were very helpful and engaging and answered all of our questions, providing suggestions for good pubs/restaurants nearby.

The neighborhood sidewalks needed cleaning, but two blocks east the area was much cleaner. It’s a big city challenge. Generally, we felt safe and comfortable walking around to shops and pubs.

Excellent value for money considering its' proximity to Croke Park. Robert was a wonderful, friendly & helpful host & nothing was too much trouble. We had a quadruple room, 2 single beds & a double which were comfy, with a bathroom which had toiletries. Great amount of storage space for 4 ladies. We didn't have breakfast, choosing to eat out due to its proximity to the city centre but we felt it was well priced & a good choice of continental breakfast items for 10 euros. Will always stay here if visiting Dublin again.

This was a real find in Dublin. As we approached the Guest House I was a little apprehensive as the street around it wasn’t great. However once inside the Guest House was fabulous. The staff/ owner were extremely helpful from the start. The room was spacious, well equipped and spotlessly clean. There was tea and coffee, toiletries and spare bedding. The breakfast was superb. The location is also excellent as we were very close to Croke park, and walking distance of the city centre. Thr property is also on a bus route that took us back to the airport. I’d highly recommend this lovely Guest House.

Great location - easy walk to city centre - and really close if you are going to a gig at Croke Park (I was!) ! It's also really easy to get to from the Airport. Its a really lovely Georgian house - and the staff there are so friendly and helpful. Bedroom was really lovely and comfy - including kettle and tea/coffee/milk which was topped up everyday Highly recommended - would definitely stop there again!!

The only slight downside is that my bedroom was facing the main road - which is pretty busy - but traffic quiet enough between 11.30pm and 6am - however you are staying in a city!!

We were greeted by a very helpful young lady on arrival. We were able to park in a secure safe carpark to the rear of the house. Location was exceptional for us as we had to attend Temple Street Hospital early following morning with our little girl which was literally in their back yard. It was so central to everything. Our room was cosy and spotlessly clean and also very spacious for us as a family of 4. The breakfast was lovely a nice choice for both continental and full breakfast and was served in a lovely room by 2 really friendly staff. On departure we met Nicholas whom we really couldn't praise enough. We really enjoyed chatting with him. He is a great advocate for the hospitality industry couldn't do enough to help you was so lovely to our family. He suggested to us to let our car parked and gave us a key to come back later after having checked out to attend the hospital appointment which I thought was so kind. We didn't have to worry about finding somewhere to park. Not too many would do this. We are so grateful to him and would have absolutely no hesitation recommending this guest house and look forward to staying here again in the future. We wish Nicholas and his team lots of success in the future. Thanks again so so much. It was probably our 1st experience in a guest house setting as we usually book a hotel but I must say it was a very positive experience. We should try and support these family run businesses more than the big franchise.

A bit of noise on occasions by vehicles passing on the street but it would be the same on any Street in a City. It didn't prevent us from having a good night's sleep. We just wouldn't be used to the City noises 😅 There was no real negatives for me.

I really like the uniqueness of this guest house. And the owner was so lovely and friendly, he gave us lots of tips of places to go. We have a really lovely break away. The city centre was also not to far, about 15min walk.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. We were a little concerned about the area after our taxi driver mentioned a few things from the airport when we arrived. But not at any point did we feel unsafe, although we did use Ubers when we can back really late.

Harvey’s Guesthouse has an excellent traditional feel to it which allowed me to feel more immersed with Dublin during my stay. Walking down to the centre is very straight forward and a lot of people and families are on the streets at most times of the day. There’s a playground and a park nearby as well. The breakfast was nice and filling, I especially enjoyed the sausages and the fruit salad. Staff is very friendly and were always available to help if I needed anything, or just for a good chat or some recommendations. My room was very clean and comfortable and I slept very well in the bed. A little desk allowed me to get some work done while in my room. The cozy lounge rooms on the ground floor offer a nice additional seating opportunity for a bit of downtime. Thank you so much to Nicholas and the rest of the staff for making me feel welcome!

These two points were not a problem for me, but good to know before you book: My room was on the top floor after some fairly narrow stairs, so if you’re uncomfortable with that, please make sure to request a room on one of the lower floors. My room was also street side and there was sometimes some noise in the night, but always very short term and I had no problem sleeping.

It is an old georgian house with domestic atphosphere, fully decorated with old furniture and details. Room was enought comfortable with coffe maker. Dining room is like to be at home. Perfect breakfast, self servis and there was also kind lady to serve coffe. You can choose betveen continental and irish food with a lot of choice. Stairs and upper floor was not disturbing us. Staff was so kind, took a time and gave us many usefull informatins. Parking is in front of. It is about 20 min to Temple if you follow O Collonel street. Althought neighbouring buildings are abandonet, on the corner to the city things change. We were feel save and defenetly come back.

Shower did not work. Some details need renovation.

Arriving at Harvey's Guest House was so welcoming and especially lovely after a long drive. The night porter, restaurant staff, cleaners and management were all fantastic. The room too was gorgeous and clean. The house is also central and only a few minutes walk from the city. I had an appointment to attend early in the morning and management was incredibly obliging of my needs regarding this and I am incredibly grateful to them and everyone on the whole team for looking after me during my stay!

This is a nice guesthouse in an old house. The decor is older but everything is well kept and clean, and the room was very good compared to most of the hotels we've seen in Dublin. The room was spacious for 4 people and had a nice proper bath + shower. 190 euros per night was not cheap, but it was great compared to other options.

The staff were very nice and helpful, but I think they should be a little more proactive in telling guests that there risky areas and walking routes nearby. There is a quite safe walking route from the guesthouse to O'Connell street, but the other route is not very safe, especially after dark. In any case, I would recommend taking a taxi after dark.
