An absolute gem of a B&B. The room was immaculate, the bathroom was to a quality better than most hotels we've stayed in. Kathleen, our host, was warm and welcoming and an absolute delight. We're used to not having much choice at breakfast as we're both vegetarian and my fiancé is gluten free, but Kathleen had vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free options and we had a wonderfully filling breakfast. We cannot recommend the Townhouse highly enough.

One thing to remember is that there is no public transport to Elphin, so a car is essential. Additionally there is no restaurant in Elphin, but if you avail of one of the local takeaways and let Kathleen know, she'll open up the breakfast room for you to eat in.

The host was super welcoming and made it very clear that I was welcome to ask for anything if I needed it. The breakfast menu was larger than I'd have expected and each item I tried was of good quality - there's also the possibility of vegan/vegetarian and gluten free options. The facilities in the room itself were good and everything was explained very well to me upon arrival.

I can't say there was anything I specifically disliked about my stay. The room wasn't exactly soundproof but it wasn't an issue, given that there are "quiet hours" enforced.

The hostess was very friendly and helpful. Room and bed were very comfortable. Great central location, allowing driving access to Stockstown, Carrick -on -Shannon and Roscommon. Parking available just outside the door.

There was road construction in the area during our stay, resulting in a steady stream of trucks passing by the B&B - creating lots of noise from 0600 to 1800 during weekdays. No reflection on the facility but if you are a light sleeper, expect and early wake-up call. This wouldn't stop me from staying there again.

Absolutely lovely accommodation, clean, comfortable, warm cosy... home from home.. breakfast was lovely, served at the time specified. Our host was so lovely, chatty, and couldn't do enough... don't normally stay in B&Bs, but this one was as good and comfortable as a hotel room... Tea and coffee in the room.. water milk in a little fridge on the landing to help yourself... Tv with all the apps...

There was nothing to dislike... was perfect for our needs ..

The Townhouse felt very warm and inviting as soon as I entered and I was welcomed by the lovely owner, Kathleen. My room was comfy, spacious and perfect for my stay. The location too was great as St Patrick's church; my grandparents final resting place, food shops, a windmill and bars to watch the Irish six nations in were all within walking distance. Also easy to get the local bus outside. There was also a sumptuous choice for breakfast daily, which was absolutely delicious. All the staff I met were kind and helpful and allowed my elderly aunt to visit me as she was passing through the area. I'm so grateful as I'd not seen her for around 15 years!

The fact that I'd not booked longer for my stay as there's still places I've not had chance to visit as I'd travelled by public transport. I'm hoping to return one day.

The host assured that I could mange to climb the stairs , as I 've got a mobility impairment. The second handrail was really usuful. The B&B is located on the main road of Elphin, a small village, with a lovely wind mill. The room was confortable and the bed too. She suggested us where to go for dinner, in Carrick-on-Shannon, the nearest town. Breakfast was superb. Highly recommended.

The only negative point was that there were no shower gel and/or shampoo, but luckly we brought some before leaving. Other than that, everything was very good.

Nice and quiet village perfectly situated to explore the surroundings. Very nice personel, and the breakfast was enormous! The room was big and cosy, and the bathroom was perfect. Very short way to Rathcroghan, the Celtic site with enthrilling excavations and information about Ireland in prehistory. Many places to visit within a short drive, which suited us very good. Definitely worth a visit!

As a Female travelling solo.on a genealogy quest Kathleen ...the owner was so helpful friendly & supportive. I always felt very comfortable & relaxed at the Townhouse & the town in general.is very quiet & peaceful. Spent 5 nights & would love to return.

Elphin s a great location for exploring the county but there are no restaurants or cafes at present so eating g facilities are limited. The local takeaways food is good

Location in centre of the town, nice decor and comfy, friendly and well organised, with tables allocated per room, breakfast as per ordered, like a military run breakfast, you got exactly what you ordered the night before. Little things helped, the bottles of water available, the extra sanitiser, the helpful notes in the room and bathroom. All in all a pleasant stay

Maybe a little more info about the location and where to see, there are things to see and do in Elphin, believe me. A warm spa and swimming pool in the backyard would have helped but too much to ask :)
