Very close to the shopping village, literally a 10 minute walk, the staff in the hotel were literally exceptional, so friendly and welcoming, honestly couldn’t fault anything. Rooms were small but spotless and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic and good value for money and with live entertainment in the pub next door we didn’t need to walk far after dinner, which was also delicious!! We’ll definitely be back!!

I’d have loved there to have been a bath (we had a particularly long drive) in the room, the shower was great but the bathroom floor got quite wet, otherwise everything was perfect

I have stayed in many well know hotels and my friend too but when we arrive and was shown to our room in silken Thomas I was blown away. The room was great size. It has been done up and it is beautiful. The bathroom was great size too. The staff were so good but especially beata( I hope that's correct spelling) blonde lady at desk she is a credit to silken Thomas. So professional and lovely friendly manner. She brought us to our room and made us feel so welcome. Excellent stay definitely would recommended silken Thomas to everyone. It's so handy for kildare village short walk.

Nothing at all everything was great.

Absolutely everything. At first I was hesitant as the rooms weren’t in the same building as the bar and restaurant but the rooms were beautiful I really didn’t mind. Our trip was for a 40th birthday and the staff really went out of there way when we had dropped in the cake before dinner. They asked the birthday girls name and description which I thought was a very personal touch and nowhere’s ever done it before. Food in the restaurant was beautiful, we couldn’t find a fault with any of the dishes. And lastly the staff. Every single member of staff from the moment we checked in was a delight. They were very accommodating and even reserved a table in the bar for us while we were still having dinner in the restaurant. A place I will definitely return to

That I had only booked in for the one night and a not two 🤣

The staff were excellent! Very kind and helpful, always warmly greeting us and had great attitudes the whole time 😊 the room and bathroom were huge! We didn't use the tea or coffee in the room but there was a good selection! The food in the restaurant was very nice, we got the mini breakfast and it was quite filling!

The bed was a little hard and the duvet was very warm (I get warm easily and so does my partner so that could be our fault), thankfully there was a fan in the room to help us cool down. The soundproofing wasn't great so we could hear everyone outside our room and due to the fan being kind of loud we needed ear plugs to help us sleep.

We've a 'big' wedding next year and wanted to visit Kildare Village shopping. Silken Thomas had a 10% Discount Card with our booking. Firstly, great comms with the team. We were going to be too early to check-in but they confirmed we could call in and get the Discount Card and the Car Park pass. Spent the afternoon shopping 🛍️! Room #20 - Spotless, very spacious room, the most comfortable beds, tea/coffee. Weird artwork 😂 - loved it. The bathroom was huge. Very jealous of the walk-in shower. Lots of beautifully soft towels and soaps/shower gel. We had dinner later downstairs in the Library. Beautiful dining room. Great range on the menu, serving was quick, and the food was excellent. Staff are the most pleasant, friendly and accommodating people.

We had only booked for one night. That's on us 😖

Staying here was an amazing experience for my whole family: kids were treated great by the staff, which was extremely helpful and understanding. The food at the attached restaurant was great for dinner, they have a wide selection of dishes that was able to satisfy both us adults and our kids. They offer kids menus! Breakfast was extremely varied and satisfying as well. The rooms were quite big and, more importantly, clean. The location is extremely convenient, they also offer an on-site parking space. Kildare is such a nice town! We'll definitely get back there: so much history! Make sure to pop by the tourism information point not far from the hotel!

The wifi was sometimes not playing nice, with most of our devices refusing to connect. It was not a big deal for us, so we haven't reported it.

The location was perfectly situated on the Kildare square we could step out of room and less than 100 yards away was breakfast and many breakfast choices. My husband had the full Irish breakfast and I had scone with fresh cream and fresh Berries. We were in walking of several activities shopping and eating places. We did not have a car available but we were able to get around easily The staff was above extraordinary starting with Dave and his wife! Bar staff, housekeeping all were so helpful and so accommodating!!

Nothing could been better

Although the property was spread over a extended area, I, as a single female, felt completely safe moving between buildings. The establishment lacks a reception area, however this doesn't hinder the operation of a warm, friendly, welcoming establishment. The rooms are very clean and extremely comfortable, family rooms are available. Room no.4 being best suited to those with very young children as the comfortable annex room is within the confines of the hotel room sleeping 4. Breakfast is not included in the room rate, however it can be paid at the venue, the menu is designed to accommodate all diners and very reasonably priced. The venue boasts two unique refurbished Georgian houses, within walking distance of the main building, exceptionally decorated to be sympathetic with their time period. These would be ideal for a girls shopping break as Kildare Village Shopping Outlet is located on the outskirts of this town and Newbridge Outlet and other complexes are just a very short drive away. Christmas would be an ideal time to visit, contact Caroline at this establishment for competitive rates. You will not be disappointed.

There's nothing to dislike.

Our accommodation was in the neighbouring Virginia house, which is a beautifully maintained Victorian building. The spacious room was very tastefully decorated in the same “olde worlde” style, having a huge comfortable bed with bedside cabinets and lamps. The 3-piece en-suite, had apart from the loo and wash hand basin, a spacious walk-in shower. The shower is of the type favoured by my wife, having a “telephone” attachment which permits her to wash her hair, without getting the optional overhead tropical downpour favoured by chaps! After a good night’s sleep, we went to the restaurant next door and enjoyed breakfast from the huge menu. Guests’ cars are parked in the adjacent car-park and free exit tickets are provided by Silken Thomas staff. Our stay went silkily smooth, thanks to Beata, the attentive manager (Dziekuje!). When we next look for accommodation in the area, this establishment will be our first port of call!

Excellent welcome on arrival, secure parking included onsite, great restaurant with varied menu, quick service, friendly ambience with music on weekends. Great to see Management on site for the personal touch. Superb newly renovated super room. Adored the huge shower in bathroom, bottled water, ease of reservation. Location fabulous and close to Japanese Gardens, National Stud, Shopping Village outlets as well as St Brigids church, well and other ecclesiastical venues. Easy to assess off motorway. Near Newbridge also brilliant tour at Silver works. Style Icons upstairs a treat for movie buffs and free.

Saying goodbye !
