We arrived and Antonio took us under his wing making sure we knew everything (almost) about our accommodation and what to see and where to go in Matera. The rooms were excellent and the facilities very clean and quite new. The AC worked well. Breakfast was interesting as many of the little dishes were already on our table so we could tuck in. Some other things like the bigger Croissants were available when you requested them. We didn’t get asked if we wanted anything hot. One of our party is vegetarian and ther were plenty of options for her.

I was slightly disappointed that we couldn’t walk into Matera from where we were staying. I thought i had read that we could in the Booking blurb. Probably my mistake. (Yes definitely my mistake!)

Cleanliness, service, communication, breakfast, surroundings

The estate is located 4 km from the town of Matera, quite isolated, with some abandoned buildings nearby. The driveway is not promising and is quite potholed, but the situation completely changes when you arrive at the entrance to the property. At the entrance, you are greeted by an avenue of palm trees and green grass that leads you to the main building. Everything is superbly arranged and clean. The buildings are new or newly renovated. The rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is excellent. Friendly and helpful staff. The location was ok for us because we had our own car and it is only 4 km away from Matera. I highly recommend it.

We loved this ♥️ our son (1 year and 10 months)really enjoyed running on the turf and the small play area with the slide and a small playhouse. We even saw the sheep’s. The breakfast was delicious. Different types of food and beverages. Staff were super making sure we were ok. They even provided us the map and a small booklet with matera attractions and suggested restaurants and parking. There were loads of free empty space for parking . Our room was super clean under the furniture and under the bed. Beautiful views from our room. It was a quiet place to relax and enjoy nature ♥️♥️

The enthusiasm of the person who greated us. He explained everything about the stay and how to visit Matera in such a nice way. I felt very welcomed. The size of the room was also very nice.

A small, welcoming and architecturally beautiful “resort” that also offered privacy. The suites appeared new and were spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom and shower were lovely. We enjoyed the very large covered patio. It was a few kilometres out of Matera but that was not a problem since we had a car. The countryside was quiet and pleasant. The breakfast that was included was fantastic with a variety of foods and coffee. Very good value!

The accommodation was extremely clean and offered a nice break from the busy city centre, just a 10-minute drive away. The staff were incredibly accommodating, friendly, and helpful. Breakfast was extraordinary – absolutely delicious! The kind man at reception even walked us to our room and showed us everything with such pride in what they’ve built.

Nothing to dislike. I didn’t get to see the sheep :( I think it would be cool if they had some sort of activity just as an idea.

Peaceful, quiet area just outside of the town centre, only a 10 minute drive. And only a few minutes drive from the famous viewing spot above the city. The host was extremely kind and helpful and breakfast was beautifully laid out and lovely. The apartments were clean and fresh and very comfortable with stunning views and scenery.

Excellent location to stay overnight with secure parking for hire car yet also visit Matera easily . Room very well appointed with fridge and very high quality newly renovated bathroom great shower ! Great value for money . Hosts very friendly and helpful

Not a problem as we carry a travel kettle and tea/coffee hot drink Facilities but Travellors may wish to bring a travel kettle if wishing hot drinks during day / evening when reception limted availability .

Staying at Agriturismo Nonna Rosa was a delightful experience. Fantastic, very comfortable accommodation, delicious breakfast and lovely host and staff. Sonny’s advice for car park and attractions in Matera was very helpful. An ideal retreat if you are a tourist visiting the wonderful Matera just 3 km away.
