This was our fourth stay at the Blue Shades which we chose because of its location 300 metres from Pisa Airport. The facilities in our room were good and it was comfortable and of a good size. Although breakfast is advertised as being available from 07.30 we were provided with a substantial and tasty breakfast at 07.00 in view of the timing of our early flight departure at the airport.

The absence of a manned reception desk is a bit strange although we were able to get help as and when needed. There are no shared facilities at the hotel other than a modest sized breakfast room. At Euro 244 our hotel room was very expensive considering its out of town location and amenities. We would consider staying elsewhere next time we are in Pisa as we don't consider this price to be justified by the hotel offering.

The hotel is close to the airport and is very clean with comfortable beds and a lovely shower room. The staff are very helpful and very kind especially on our return of going to see the tower and my purse was stolen while standing on a bus from Pisa train station to the tower by someone who had pretended to help us with the ticket machine, turned his head away when I entered pin but a woman who then joined him had seen my pin and they got off the bus at next stop. By the time I got through to my bank a large sum had been withdrawn from my account. Also we had been on three buses during the week and on our first, bus inspectors came on and as we did not know our tickets have to be put through a machine on a bus we were fined 120 euros they said pay or police. On both buses from Pisa station to the tower and back bus inspectors we're doing the same approaching tourists who were unaware of putting their tickets through a machine on the bus and all being fined, just a word of warning as it spoils a lovely holiday if it happens to you.

I’m delighted to share our fantastic experiences at Hotel Blue Shades in Pisa. This marked our second year in a row visiting, and we couldn’t be more grateful for the warm hospitality provided by Gianluca. On both occasions, we encountered unexpected travel issues, and Gianluca went above and beyond to accommodate us at short notice, even staying up late to welcome us with open arms. His personal touch extended to preparing delightful snacks and refreshing drinks for our family, truly making us feel at home. It’s evident that Gianluca takes pride in his role and cares deeply about his guests’ comfort and happiness. Overall, our stays at Hotel Blue Shades have been nothing short of exceptional, largely due to Gianluca’s impeccable service and welcoming nature. We can’t wait to return for yet another amazing experience. I just can hope that „Isabella“ appreciated the value, Gianluca is providing to this hotel ;-)

The hotel and bedrooms were modern. The bed was very comfortable and extra pillows were available in the wardrobe. Our room had air-con (which was needed as it was very warm outside. The staff were very attentive and were very helpful and friendly. The hotel was in walking distance to the airport, so very helpful for our early morning flight. We would recommend staying here if you are in Pisa.

Booked Blue Shades just for convenience before an early flight on last day of our holiday-but got so much more. It’s really close to the airport and Pisamover. Super friendly staff which included hotel dog and a parrot, who will sit on your shoulder. Locally there is a supermarket and brilliant cafe and in the evening a fantastic bistro which served a meal far better than you might expect. Highly recommend.

Perfect location, with walking distance to the airport. Very nice staff in reception, and Nice to have the small kitchenette in the room.

The cleaning was not so good, dark hair in the bathroom, and on the bedspread there were lots of crumbs of some kind. Could have been some plates in the kitchenette.

Very clean well kept hotel. Lovely apartment with comfortable beds and very close to the airport so you can easily walk.

We are a family of 5 and we knew we were getting a sofa bed for the 5th bed but it wasn’t made up and it was a sofa rather than a sofa bed. We found extra sheets to make the bed up and it was cosy enough but I think it is really an apartment for 4.

the staff are FANTASTIC! the clearly love working with their visitors. Jean Luc in particular, but also the wonderful woman working the front desk and so nice! and eager to please. Honestly, I decided to visit the area at the last minute on a busy weekend so there weren’t many options- but wow! This place had everything! awesome AC at a very hot time, delicious dinner available even late (lots of options). There’s also a popular bar/night club on the property, but they quiet down pretty early. breakfast was included, and usually that means limited selection and tasteless whatever.. here there was marvelous fresh baked bread, perfectly ripe fruit and so much more. would return in a heartbeat

I spent less time in Pisa because the hotel had such a terrific restaurant choice

The young Manager was extremely helpful, warm and caring.

We needed a place to stay very close to Pisa airport as we had checked out of our holiday hotel early in the morning and our flight home was very late in the evening. So while we only stayed for about five hours, it gave us the opportunity to have a base near the airport, and rest. The room and beds were extremely comfortable, the staff were lovely, there was a really nice cafe/bistro just across the road from the hotel, and it was only a five minute walk to the airport. Also, there is a friendly little dog called Chicco in the reception 🙂
