Staff, when present, were exceptional, but the staff not always there. Building was built in around 1100 AD! Staying in a part of history. View from the roof is amazing. Location was excellent. 10-25 minute walk to Piazza di Vittorio Emanuel, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, The Colosseum, Piazza Navona; only major attraction it is far from is the Vatican… that was a 40 minute walk. The room itself was large, bed was comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

While the bathroom was nice it was rather small - particularly the shower. The lift to go upstairs is claustrophobic. I understand the need for both these situations… it is a historic home built tall and narrow, and all these modern conveniences are retrofit.

Very central, quirky, amazing views from the rooftop, great service from Randy who was onsite and available almost the whole time we were there.

Could probably do with some maintenance to get back to 4* status - bath in our room couldn’t be used (so more of a feature than functional) but that wasn’t an issue, rooftop garden is an asset but could be made so much better with a bit of update (rail going around the top needs replacing). Again not a problem for us and we loved sitting up there with a drink admiring the amazing views. Minibar door not closing properly.

A unique hotel with superb staff. I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. The room was wonderful, with wonderful features, including a four-poster bed, a large bathroom with quality products and a walk in wardrobe. The free and generous mini bar was a lovely surprise! The bed was very comfortable.

Absolutely fantastic location, great building, rooms have lots of character and fab rooftop views. It's not perfect in terms of amenities, some might argue it's due a bit of an overhaul, but it's excellent value for money and a lovely little gem of a hotel for a Rome city break.

The location was superb. It was walking distance to all the major sites/attractions that you wish to visit. There is a lot to see in Rome so you will do a lot of walking however this stay allowed you to step outside and within minutes see something historical and special. The staff are all friendly, the rooms are spacious and view from the rooftop is spectacular

Unfortunately, you never know if you will come across other travellers that have no regard for others and we did have a very noisy family stay during our stay but that did not detract from the quirky, beautiful and old building we stayed in.

It was the second stay at Torre Colonna this year as it isn’t just a lovely hotel, it’s a whole experience living in a historical building. Great sound and thermal isolation (really thick walls), amazing view from the rooftop terrace, interesting books along the staircase, a coffee machine in the room to start your day the proper way and many other small details made our stay at Torre Colonna great.

Next to our room there was a small service room used by the staff and I was bothered by the sound at the door (the soundproofing only affects the street noise, not the corridor one) when trying to nap in the noon and once when going to bed early (after 10PM), had to ask the staff to stop it because it was taking quite a while

Torre Colonna is mid way between the Coleseum and the Trevi fountain, close to the roman forum. very well priced for the location and facilities. our room had everything we needed. The staff were also great!

There are lots of stairs or you can take a small lift.

The room was lovely and the separate seating area was a bonus. The shower was great and the location was fantastic, only a 10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain. It was nice to stay in a unique hotel with lots of original features.

You could hear the traffic noise from the bedroom area which didn't have secondary glazing, there was secondary glazing in the dressing area but as the building is very old this may not have been possible. Information on how to use the buses i.e. buying tickets etc would have been good.

Location was perfect, and the hotel itself is cute, quaint, with a rooftop where you have a nice view to the Colosseum. Everywhere is easy walking distance, good restaurants around. Staffs were very attentive and accommodating as well.

Sometimes you can hear noises early in the morning when people uses the stairs and not the elevator. But that is normal I guess as it is an old building, adds to the charm in a way.

Nice location and good view from rooftop terrace. Water provided daily and good friendly staff.
