The apartment was big and convenient, and it felt like they thought about the small details to make guests comfortable- anti-mosquito device, shading options, safe and welcome gifts of cookies and dessert wine. Roberta really cared about us, offered help and advices and allowed us to early the check-in when my husband was sick and needed to rest. Parking was right out the gate, a huge plus. There was a kitchen, so we could cook and store products.

The neighbourhood is a bit neglected and not really great, but the walk to Ortigia wasn't long (10-12 min). We all in all felt safe.

This is a studio apartment in a beautiful historic building. As others have noted, it's set in a private courtyard, an oasis in the middle of Syracuse, and within walking distance to Ortigua. The furnishings are of high quality and everything is spotless. There are large windows front and back, which you can black out completely with wooden shutters. The apartment is larger than I expected and I especially liked the walk-in dressing room (apt 2), where we stored our case (instead of tripping over it all the time!). Valeria, the owner was very helpful and sought us out at the end to ask if we could suggest anything to help her improve her offer, which is the sign of a good hotelier.

Valeria is one of the most responsive hosts I have ever met, always ready to provide tips for things, to do, see or eat in the area. Every reqest was fulfilled in a timely manner. Reading the comments from previous guests about the location, I can say that though the property is not situated in the fanciest part of town it is in a pretty normal area. We were 2 women and never felt unsafe during our stay, even though we were out until late. The only thing that we were avoiding is opening the bedroom window during the night, because it's a french window overlooking the sidewalk. Our appartment (number 2) was exactly like in the description. There were mosquito nets at the windows. There were also anti-mosquito device and spray repellent in the appartment but we didn't used them because there was no need. We didn't use the air-conditioning too, because it was not that hot during our stay. The property is at a walking distance from the train station (15 min), the old harbor (2 min) and Ortigia island (15 min). It was allowed to leave our luggage at the property prior check-in and after check-out for free which was very convinient. We also found some small compliments from the host in the appartment which was very sweet. We enjoyed our stay.

Do not let the tired walls of the Syracuse residential buildings fool you as Kyanos is nestled behind a building away from the Main Street. You are greeted to a gated key pad entrance which leads to the main courtyard. Kyanos is a fully renovated and clean establishment! Our room, #5 was very spacious, clean and equipped with AC in the living room/kitchen and bedroom. It is self check in which we were greeted with a small sampling of Syracuse Moscato and a bottle of spring water. The host communicated very well and checked in with us throughout our stay to ensure all was in order. Kyanos is a 15-20 min walk to Ortigia was great as we did not require to drive into town. Ortigia is a beautiful city with many attractions and great restaurants!! There is plenty of parking just in front of Kyanos which was a plus as we did not require to look for parking upon our returning from our excursions. Very quiet and safe neighbourhood. Positive surprise. Pics on booking show various apartments so you don’t know in which you stay until you arrive . I was in the green one. Bed was really comfortable , we had extra blankets , AC could also be used to heat up apartment in the evening . WiFi I really strong for digital nomads. Super nice gesture to allow visitors to use laundry room if needed. City tax need to be paid on the top . Very easy to find parking space and Ortiga is short walk away so best if you come by car . Nice welcome with local licor :) no issues with hot water . Kitchen was well equipped too with extra salt and oil of oil that was very convenient .

We loved this spacious apartment, which was our base for two weeks in Sicily. It has everything you need. We really appreciated use of the washing machine which allowed us to travel light on our 23 day total travels. Valerie and Roberta were most helpful and friendly. The bed was comfy and the kitchen had oven, hob, microwave, electric kettle, and coffee maker. If we return to Siracusa we will definitely book this apartment. It is convenient for both Syracuse and Ortigia, easy to walk everywhere. There are lots of local shops; fruit seller just outside the gate; every successive morning we got more produce for the same price!, because we were customers, lovely! Panificio for bread just around the corner on via Piave, Oh and we rented a car for €9 a day, and there was free parking outside the apartment.

Nothing; the area looks run down but is perfectly safe, and the apartment is in a gated courtyard. Nothing to do with the apartment but it was very hard to find a good restaurant in Siracusa/Ortigia.

What a fantastic place and location! The apartment has everything you could possibly need, with parking right next door and a small beach nearby. It's only about a 15-minute walk to Ortigia. The communication with the owner was perfect; she provided helpful advice, assistance, and ensured everything was superb. To top it off, a welcome bottle of wine! Truly classy. The Italian style, delicious food everywhere, and beautiful views make it an unforgettable experience.

Location was excellent, only 10-15 min walk into Ortigia. Easy walk. We had a car so parking was free right out front. Loved this cute apartment, had all the conveniences. We did a load of laundry and used the drying rack provided. We bought fresh fruit from the vendor located in front of the residence and enjoyed our own breakfast on the porch. You could get breakfast only 5 mins down the road for guests of Kyanos but we had our own and enjoyed relaxing for a while before exploring the gorgeous island of Ortigia. A beautiful courtyard on the lower level was a welcoming entrance. We had a super comfortable bed which was the first bed in Italy that wasn’t extremely hard!

I had a very warm and welcoming greeting at Kyanos Residence. They seem to really be caring about their guests well-being. I was there a bit early and the host very kindly messaged me as soon as the room was ready so I could move in before the official check in time. The location in Siracusa is great as you can go everywhere by foot and it's just 2 minutes from the sea. The room was very clean, bright and had an exceptionally comfortable bed, the kitchen has most things you might need for cooking and a very good stovetop.

This is a great place, there isn't anything bad really. The kitchen is pretty well equipped, if you want to have a decent cutting knife you should probably bring that with you, though.

Nice place to stay, well furnished including microwave! Did not use the shared laundry but it looked good. When you enter, you need to go through the main gate and then left door. Room was warm upon arrival but quickly remediated with A/C. I also appreciate a room that can be blacked out so i don't wake up at 6 in the morning. Quiet. Very nice booklet from the host with recommendations though i would advise removing prices and opening times as they change every month ;-)

Obviously not in the middle of Ortigia and it's a non-touristic neighborhood but a quick 10 min walk to the attractions and InterBus stop. Grocery store also 10 min.
