The hotel staff could not have been nicer!! Tony, the manager, is so friendly and personable. We were leaving at 4:45am the day we checked we out. Tony made us a “goodie bag” with fruit, muffins, water, jams, etc. He was wonderful. The location is awesome, central to everything. I would stay here again in a second. Wonderful experience!!

The location of the hotel was fantastic, less than 50m walk down to the beach. It was a 20 minute walk to central sorrento and the train station. A bit uphill so just prepare for that. The breakfast was lovely, great variety and the decor of the room, alongside the lovely cave cut out, was beautiful. Always had something we fancied each day and we were always greeted by a friendly staff member. Our room was on the ground floor, which was pleasant. Don’t expect a view if you didn’t book a room with one (of course) but it did the job perfectly. Relatively quiet, clean and cool (nice to come back to after a day in the sun!). Only noise we heard was a few toilet flushes of other rooms and bins being put out in the nearby alley. Wasn’t disruptive though. The staff were friendly and helpful. They assisted us with local transport recommendations and let us leave our luggage in the lobby after check out as our flight wasn’t until later in the day. The rooftop terrace is a bonus, a lovely suntrap, especially in the morning.

The sliding door of our bathroom kept creeping open, letting the sun in when it rose! (Not necessarily a bad thing, just an observation)

Beautiful hotel located a 2-minute walk from Sorrento's Marina Grande. So many things to rave about at Hotel Del Mare: the staff were great (front desk, breakfast, cleaning), the breakfast was outstanding (delicious, lots of variety, plentiful) and breakfast room was beautiful. Our 1st floor room was very comfortable, facing the front street with a little balcony. The rooftop terrace is beautiful, convenient, comfortable, and provides scenic views of the waterfront and the Bay. The decor in Hotel del Mare is beautiful and typical, and the workmanship (especially the tile work) is most impressive. Very nice! The location is fantastic for great bars/restaurants, the Marina Grande scenery is breathtaking, and you can get to the heart of Sorrento eating, sightseeing and shopping by walking.

This is not a criticism of Hotel del Mare, more something to be aware of. We walked from the train station to the hotel with our backpacks and each trailing a carry-on suitcase--not a good idea. It's a 20-minute hike along busy streets/sidewalks, on cobblestone streets, down steep stairs. Take the bus--it drops you off right at the Marina--or take a taxi.

The staff always had a smile were extremely helpful as we had problem opening door at our age as we had to be very quick, never a problem for staff always immediately helped us, The location was perfect as we felt safe just walking a few minutes to excellent restaurants where value and quality of the food was great. The room always small (we could have upgraded) met our needs as we were out and about most of the time. . The rooftop was perfect to just relax when we got back after a day out for example.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! The location was amazing, very close to marina and a 15-20 walk to Sorrento center. We also took local bus to center, which you board at the marina. The room was beautiful, I recommend fourth floor for easy access to the balcony. The staff was unbelievable. The front desk helped us with restaurant recommendations and transport recommendations. Everything I needed, I asked them and they were able to help me. They were so friendly and always so helpful. The lobby is beautiful and has a bar. The breakfast was delicious and has everything you may need. Every night we went to the center to eat, and we also did a day trip by private boat to Capri and another day we took a ferry to Positano for the day. Next time I am in Sorrento, I would definitely stay here again.

Gorgeous typically Italian Hotel. Perfect location, 5 minutes walk to Marina Grande, and it’s beautiful fish restaurants overlooking the sea. Staff at Hotel couldn’t do enough for us, especially Mariana who was so helpful with any questions we asked her prior to our arrival, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely breakfast to start our day, fresh pastries, fruits, cereals and breads, plus hot dishes , plenty of choice. Hopefully return to Marina Grande and most definitely to Hotel Del Mare. Thanks for making it such a special time for me and my family 😊

Only being able to stay 3 nights, would love to stay longer next time.

I stayed here with my sister and we absolutely loved this hotel, amazing location right by the water at Marina Grande. Every morning we left the hotel we kept saying to each other what a nice hotel it was! The lobby area is so clean and light and the staff were exceptional. They helped us with recommendations on where to get a good pizza, and helped us book the shuttle bus to Naples airport in advance. They were so welcoming every time we came back to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent, we loved the pastries, yoghurts, fruit, fresh bread for toast, scrambled eggs, pancakes, so much choice! The rooms are small but just what you need, super comfy beds and lovely bathroom. We stayed in the room with no view which suited us well as we were out so much exploring and also there’s a lovely roof terrace where we took some cards up and had an aperol. Location wise I would absolutely recommend staying here, it could not have been better. The centre of Sorrento was quite busy (especially in the evening) and every time we got back to Marina Grande we were so glad to be back. It took us around 10 minutes or so to walk to the start of the historic streets, we are quick walkers though. It’s also such a lovely walk we really enjoyed it each day. Maybe even highlight of my day!? I also think the best restaurants were in Marina Grande as the seafood and pasta was unbelievable and so nice to see all the little fishing boats parked up in the bay. Couldn’t speak more highly of this hotel and wouldn’t stay anywhere else when I come back!

Good location around the corner from Marina Grande which offered small but good selection of restaurants and good for a swim. 15 minute walk uphill to get to Corsa Italia which suited us fine so very easy to spend the evening up in the main part of town. Nearby parking if you have a hire car. All staff very friendly & helpful. Good breakfast.

Quiet location which might not suit some but suited us fine. Hotel is at sea level so doesn't afford you the spectacular views other (expensive) hotels up the hill would but depends on your budget!

Hotel Del Mare is in the best location for walking to the gorgeous little beach spot for sunset dinners. The staff was extremely welcoming and very happy to help in any way they could. The town centre and train station is a short walk, with lots to see. We used Sorrento as a base and visited Pompei, Capri and Mt Vesuvius. The beds and all amenties in the room were great. Although, we spent alot of our time away from the hotel it was great to come back. The breakfast had a great selection and the staff were very accomodating with any hot beverage requests.

very friendly and helpful staff excellent extensive continental breakfast included in price, held in a basement cave. nice rooftop patio with lounge chairs and a great view of the Gulf of Naples and Mt Vesuvius

the walks were very thin. you could hear people talking in their rooms across the hall the location was a bit unhandy. it was a hike up the hill to get to town and a very tough climb from the ferry. there was no dresser in the rim so no where to store clothes.
