The views from our room were spectacular. The room itself was very nice, bright and airy. Despite the distance, it’s a relatively nice walk to the town center with great views along the way. The front desk staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They consulted on a number of topics like local transportation, tour availability and any other questions we had!

The breakfast spread is fairly limited and includes a lot of sweets that wouldn’t normally seem like breakfast items. The room could be cleaned a bit more thoroughly. We found marks on towels and sheets and the floor was dusty. We also had to specifically request more toilet paper because they don’t give you enough for normal (non bidet) usage.

I returned after a 24-tear absence to find the Hotel Desiree even more charming and with more amenities. The private beach and included breakfast make this location a perfect spot from which to explore Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast. Irena, Marco and Pasquale at the front desk provided loads of information, maps and restaurant recommendations and made us feel like family. Annamaria in the breakfast room is a treasure and worth the trip alone. I can't say enough good things about this property. Our recently completed 8-night stay was one of the highlights of a long overdue and wonderful Italian vacation. Run to your computer and book your rooms now!

The stay was flawless. I wouldn't change a thing.

Great value for money. The private beach it's the best thing ever. Before the trip I was curious to know if we'd have to pay to use the hotel beach, but we only accessed it at the end of the day and it was totally open access. Amazing. It's not a short way and no elevator, but I don't mind. Easy walk to the city center and to Bagni Regina Giovanna. I'd love to be back. The bathroom was big.

Don't expect a modern and luxurious place. It's simple, but great and clean anyway. Breakfast was small and a bit messy (we always came after 8h30) and the internet was not 100% but, honestly, I can't complain about anything. Great value for the money and would definitely be back.

The staff was great -- super friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. The hotel itself is charming.

Our shower leaked water onto the floor, and we had to sop up the water a couple times during our stay. The bathroom has no sink top to speak of, so there's nowhere to put toiletries while getting ready. I would suggest shelving or a stand of some sort be placed near the sink to remedy this problem.

I searched and compared a lot of hotels before coming to Sorrento.I was a little bit worried because of the location, BUT!!!Location was just perfect!!Just 15 minutes from the city center by walking with spectacular view. Bus s are crossing near by the hotel in every 5-10 minutes.Close to the central station and main areas.Private beach was something beyond the expectations! Staff was excellent.They helped us in any topic that we asked. Breakfast was very nice. Fresh pastries, fruits and salty food. Honestly, I was overwhelmed by this hotel and would highly recommend!!!

The hotel was much more affordable compared to other similar hotels in the centre. The location is about 15-20 min walk to where all the restaurants are, but still good enough if you don’t mind walking a bit. It has parking and access to a private beach which are rare to find in Sorrento centre. They also have a Terrance upstairs with a stunning view where you can also have “aperitivo”, but not very well advertised! The breakfast was much better than what we expected, lots of choice of fresh food. Many thanks to Anna at the breakfast for being always so kind and accommodating with my GF and DF food requests. All the staff very kind and smiley, and willing to answer any questions.

There isn’t anything I didn’t like, overall it was a pleasant stay. Perhaps just the rooms are a bit noisy, we could hear the neighbour rooms and even when they had the bathroom fan on. Generally a bit of maintenance would be good.

The staff at the Hotel Desiree were extremely helpful and with their recommendations we had an incredible tour of Capri for a price that was affordable and offered all the options we wanted. The breakfast meals were delicious and the kindness of the host for breakfast was so comforting. She made cappuccinos every morning and treated us all like we were in her home. The accommodations met our needs for the three of us and the housekeeping staff kept up with us for clean linens and towels. The view and the access to the private beach were an incredibly beautiful and made the time there relaxing. We have already recommended this hotel to all of our friends in Florida. Thank you to all the staff for such a lifetime memorable experience.

We loved everything!!

Wonderful hotel with amazing, friendly staff. The views are spectacular and we loved our balcony overlooking the sea. This is a great option for those wanted to stay in Sorrento and see the Amalfi coast but do not have a huge budget. We didn't really use the private beach but it is a great spot with views of Vesuvius. The breakfast was a nice touch, with some basic continental pastries, cheeses, meats, juices, cakes and bread etc. They were also accomodating to my partner who is gluten free. The hotel is a little dated but it is comfortable and clean and great for the price. It is a short 10-15 min walk into the centre and this means the hotel/rooms are quieter. The roof terrace is also lovely with stunning views and it was fantastic to sit up here and watch the sunset with a glass of wine!

This isn't really the fault of the hotels but a couple of steaming drunk 20year old girls were crashing around at 1am banging on doors after they somehow got locked out of their room. I imagine this was a one off though as all the other guests were quiet and respectful as its not really that kind of place.

Execptional. The reception staff were very helpful and kind, they gave us excellent tips on what to do around the city of Sorrento. He also offered us maps of the city and public transport timetables in the region, and also works till midnight. The best best thing was the view of the room, its breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious and the lady who was taking care of it was funny, a trully italian. Our experience could not be better.

The toilets could be better, its was kind of old, but it didnt not change our experience in the hotel.

Hotel Desiree EXCEEDED our expectations. Firstly, the receptionist waited for my groups late arrival at 1am which was much appreciated. The rooms were basic but all you needed, and the view from the oceanview apartment was unbelievable. Our most favourite part of this accom was the lovely Anna Maria, who made us feel so at home with her outstanding cooking. The breakfast they offered was perfect, with fresh pastries and cakes baked by Anna Maria on offer everyday. She is a gem and everyone needs to meet her!
