Very good sized single room, clean and up together and had a small fridge too. Friendly and helpful staff, good selection for buffet breakfast (cereals, yoghurt, fresh pastries, cold meats etc). Really good that complimentary drinks were available 24/7 in the lobby. More than made up for lack of kettle in room. Very close to train/coach station and easy walk into city centre. Excellent value for money

The room was quite hot, and I couldn't control the temperature really. I overheard another guest make a similar comment to Reception. I left a window open as advised and that was fine though possibly not the 'greenest' option. A complimentary bottle of mineral water in the room could have been welcome, though you could buy one from the mini bar. Only small moans though!

The hotel has a great central location and is very comfortable. Our room had an excellent view over the piazza, and a small refrigerator. The breakfast was very good and was very elegantly presented. The tea and coffee machine in the breakfast room is available for guests to use throughout the day.

Perhaps the hotel could provide clearer advice about where to park the car for the valet parking. One of us had to stay with the car while the other ran into the hotel to ask, but it could be tricky for a single guest. The bathrooms are fine but could be enhanced by provision of facecloths.

I’d stayed there 11 years ago, so thought I would stay there again. I like the location - it’s easy walking to must things, the place is clean, the breakfast is excellent and they have good sized single rooms at a reasonable price. Free snacks and coffee any time you want it is brilliant.

The staff didn’t offer to assist with heavy suitcases up the stairs before you get to the lift. The place is looking a little tired, worn carpets and drapes, and the netting in the bedroom looked like they needed a good wash. Reception provided a list of restaurants, many of which don’t seem to exist anymore. It would be good to have coffee option in your room instead of having to go downstairs

Everything. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Location was perfect. Walkable from station and bus station. Walkable to Grand Canal area. Bus direct to Barcola beach. I had a long journey overnight and had requested if there were any chance of an early check in. On arrival in the morning to store my bags for the day I was informed they had prepared my room early and I could check in. The staff were all so gracious, and ready to help in any way if possible. Having been travelling for two weeks the wonderful attitude of the staff was so welcome.

A bit too high room/bathroom temperature, which could not be regulated. At check-in lady at the reception said she does not know the difference between Slovenia - Slovakia although she had our documents in the hand. Would not expect such ignorance from a person working in international environment when Slovenia as Italy’s neighbouring country is only 10min away from Triest and Slovenian national home well known in their history, just around the corner from hotel.

The staff was very friendly, they helped me with an early check-in when I told them that I'm only there for a day. I appreciated the single room - not many hotels offering this at a reduced rate. Location is really good too, just a few minutes from the main square. They even offered a city map, which was nice. Breakfast is really diverse, vegetarian friendly.

The air conditioning was not working because it was November - but there was a hot day and I felt the need for it to cool down a bit. It was ok during the night tho.

The hotel is in an ideal location, a short walk from both the station and the city centre. Behind the pretty old facade, the rooms are unexpectedly modern, elegantly minimalist and very clean. Lovely bathroom. Very helpful staff; good breakfast. Excellent value for money.

There were no instructions for the TV, and I couldn't get the sound to come on - probably my own fault. For people travelling by train, it would be helpful to give directions for walking from the station.

As a solo traveller, the location was perfect. I took the train from the airport to Trieste Central Station late at night and felt safe walking to the Albergo. The front desk and the restaurant staff are great. I forgot my phone charger and the front desk staff went out of their way to find a charger and adapter for me, searching the entire hotel. The restaurant staff was also very attentive doing their best to accommodate my dietary preferences - and their coffee and cappuccino were delicious! The bed and shower were good. I will certainly choose Albergo Alla Posta again on my next visit.

Beautiful building and interior with nice friendly staff, clean and comfy bedrooms in a fantastic location. The bedroom was a good size, well equipped and a quiet space despite the location. There was all the soaps etc needed in the bathroom, a hairdryer, a mini fridge, TV, multiple power outlets, a safe and wardrobe space. I believe there was a laundry service on request too although I didn´t need it, and there was daily cleaning if wanted too. The breakfast buffet was ample with a selection of cold breakfast options from croissants to cereal to hams and cheeses. Great coffee provided by the staff and a coffee machine too which you could use at any stage of your stay when needed! The location was 10 minutes (or less) walk from the central train station, about 10/15 minutes to the waterfront, canal, the main square and the old town.

Didn´t bother me at all as I took the stairs but the lift was quite small if you´re more than 1 person and each have luggage I imagine it´s quite cosy.

The staff were all wonderful. The breakfast was so good, and catered for vegans. I like that there was tea and coffee in the lounge every afternoon. Incredibly central: just a minute's walk to buses to all the out-of-town sights, and about 5-10 minute walk from the canal, the sea, museums and restaurants. Good double glazing meant the room was very quiet despite being so central. The view from my room was great too.

The furniture in my room was a little dated. But everything was immaculately clean and very comfortable, and for the price it was more than good enough.
