Inn Noshiyu where we stayed is separate from the main ryokan, which is Oyado Noshiyu. It's a small 4 room mini hotel. Room 203 (twin beds) is the largest and best, with an excellent shower (small, but very good). Room 202 does not have its own shower, but that's OK because you can shower in the small private onsen just below. Inn Noshiyu is much newer than Oyado Noshiyu, presumably a recent addition to the property, and we chose it in part because of availability, and in part because as much as we love Japan, sleeping on futons and tatami does not agree with us. Inn Noshiyu has beds, and the beds were very good. All the accessories we needed were present, and high quality. The main ryokan itself (Oyado Noshiyu) is one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen, and although we weren't able/allowed to go into the main building to look around, we were still able to use the private onsen which are separate, but part of the main ryokan, and they are excellent and stress-free to use. The location is excellent, 3 minutes walk from the Kurokawa Onsen "main drag". The staff were very nice, accommodated our requests, and some spoke very good english. If you imagine a traditional high-end onsen like in the movies, Oyado Noshiyu is that. Inn Noshiyu is more modern, and not as traditional in look and feel, but still an excellent stay. Recommended to all, but if you can sleep on futons, consider doing Oyado Noshiyu.

At least in room 202 and 203 they have skylights in the ceiling, but no way to cover them. So every morning we were annoyed to be awakened very early by bright sun shining in our eyes. Considering how everything else was so carefully organized, this seems like an oversight. It really should be addressed. One thing we didn't realize about staying in Kurokawa Onsen (which was lovely, by the way) is that it's almost impossible to get breakfast or dinner outside your ryokan. Only one place stays open late, and they turned us away as they were full. So make sure you have meal arrangements with your ryokan, or be prepared to buy things at the very nearby combini and make your own meal.

Beautiful little house, but is part of a bigger hotel across the street so you can use the 5 private onsen and open-air bath there. Close to the center of the village where the shops and other hot springs are located. Staff was very courteous and friendly.

Wifi was spotty and slow. I stayed 2 nights and breakfast was always the same every day, some variations would be nice. This inn also doesn't have an option for dinner, but there are only 2 places in the village that open after 6 pm and they take turns closing so unless you have a car to go to another town, your option for dinner is non-existent. It would be nice if they provide a dinner option, even a simple one or a bento/packed option.

This ryokan or inn exceeded my expectations. I arrived around 12nn and asked if I can leave my luggage so that I can explore the area. They agreed to it. By the time I came back, they gave me all information that I needed about the hotel (ex. Location of the hot springs, time of breakfast, etc.). When I arrive in my room, my luggage is already there. My room was pretty big for Japanese standard. The bed was pretty comfortable. The inn looks modern yet traditional if that makes sense. I was able to visit the main hotel, Oyado Noshiyu, which is a more luxurious place. I'm glad that I can use their amenities even though I am staying at Inn Noshiyu. Because of that, I think the price for the place is really worth it especially since I'm staying alone. If I had someone with me, I'll probably choose Oyado Noshiyu since they had both Breakfast and Dinner. Even though this place only offered breakfast, it was delicious and healthy (aside from the pastries but I won't complain about that lol). The quantity is really big and I didn't get to finish it. As for the amenities, There were at least 3 private onsens to choose from (Oyado Noshiyu). I wasn't able to use the private onsen at my hotel because I really wanted to try the other hotel's private onsens. I was only able to use 2 private onsens. It seems like people often opted for the private onsens so when I used the public onsen, no one was there. I was happy to use it alone. It was really pretty! Using the public onsen at night is such a different vibe compared to the morning. I like it better at night.

The breakfast had too many egg like dishes. It was good but not that good. Aside from that, I loved breakfast! I hope they offer an option to serve dinner though. One more thing. I wasn't sure where I can wash my hair because the onsens (whether private or public) doesn't really have a wash area. There was no shampoo or body wash too. It's even stated in their guide. I wish they had at least one shower area to do this because I can't live without washing my hair. I had to use an onsen of a different hotel to wash my hair and body.

Inn NOSHIYU is very tastefully constructed from natural timbers and is surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. It is an easy walking distance from all the specialty shops in this lovely little traditional town. The staff were very helpful and collected us from the bus stop. The highlight of this property is the variety of hot spring baths you can enjoy and many of them are private so you can have them all to yourself without needing a reservation. The outdoor bath at night was amazing under the autumn foliage with the steam floating above the hot water. It was like a dream. The breakfast was delicious with very generous portions. I think this is the best Hotel to stay at in Kurokawa onsen

Be prepared - All the restaurants and shops in town shut at 6pm so eat early and spend your evening enjoying the hot spring baths

the breakfast was amazing great service at the breakfast the inn is really beautiful and has all the facilities you need the room is very nice and everything you need is provided

when I arrived I went inside and nobody noticed me they also didn't respond to a message I sent earlier in the day. so I didn't want to message again and I waited. I waited 30 minutes and somehow the check-in was in another building. but they didn't explain that anywhere in the information. Overall that was annoying since I felt abandoned and wasted 30 minutes The internet is not good because it is an unsecured network. This made some issues with my MacBook Pro. They should use a network with password like normal. Because I paid 3x more for this inn than other stays in Japan, I was annoyed with these two issues. But the staff were nice and the quality was high.

Beautiful quaint and charming property! Loved it! Easy access to the town centre and the staff were incredibly accommodating and demonstrated exemplary example of Japanese hospitality! Yuki picked us up from the bus stop and greeted us with warmth and made us feel welcomed! Highly recommended if you’re looking for a clean place to stay and explore Kurokawa. You have access to the many onsen at Oyado Noshiyu also! Thank you Yuki and one other Vietnamese lady staff member I crossed paths with - your smiling 😊 faces made our day!

Very nice accommodation with excellent, well trained staffs that will go out of their way to help you. Comfortable rooms, beds. The breakfast was excellent, with western style freshly baked pastries, perfect omelette, served with other things. We get to use the private and public onsen at the main hotel just opposite for free, which we love so much. This is a place where it is convenient if you have a car.

None. Do take note that the rooms come with en-suite toilet and sink but for bathing, all the rooms share the same bathroom which is where the Inn’s private onsen is located. It is the Japanese style onsen type showering facility.

Had an absolutely wonderful stay at this ryokan - the setting is just beautiful, and the rooms are well-equipped and comfortable. The common areas are also furnished beautifully, and it just felt like a home away from home. Loved having onsen baths - both public and private ones - on the premises, and the location is just great (though Kurokawa Onsen is admittedly pretty compact and easy to get around in the first place). Staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to help. Could not recommend this place more.

Everything was perfect, I only wish I could have stayed for longer!

The location is perfect, in Kurokawa Onsen village. The surroundings are gorgeous. The hotel garden seems to come out from a fairytale and th e onsen is set up with different outdoors or open sky baths. Gorgeous. The room was comfy, calm and quite luxurious. Traditional, mainly wooden made. The room was very clean except one spot. The bathroom is shared (private onsen) but there is a toilet in the room, which is convenient. Though the room was comfy in the evening and the night, I found it a bit dark during the day and not really pleasant. But the fare was so good that I can't really complain. The breakfast was absolutely royal and the service was faultless. I'll remember it. Also, they propose a shuttle service to the bus station though you may walk to it if you wish. This hotel is definitely an amazing place to discover

The room I had was a bit too dark during the day. It was really dusty behind the nightstand, right side of the bed. I cleaned the corner myself. No big deal. But if you (the staff) read this comment, think about it.

Inn Noshiyu is a gorgeous little inn. My room was lovely and even smelled good. The bed was extremely comfortable. The onsens at the property were incredible. Reserving the individual onsens was easy. The gardens were so charming and covered in moss. Each onsen had its own unique feeling. I wish I could have stayed there longer.

It would have been nice to have a shower in the room.
