The onsen was nice and felt very natural, which I appreciated. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were incredible. The futon was very comfortable and I slept well. The facilities were very clean and the staff was nice.
I was hoping for more of a traditional ryoukan, whereas this is a bit more like a hotel. I booked midweek, but it was very quiet. I rarely saw other people, and only heard them at dinner. It would be great if more affordable rooms for solo travellers existed (I had to book a room with two beds, and that room could probably accommodate 3 people).

Great stay! Loved the design of our room and having 2 separate beds allowed us to rest and recharge. Sadly we had only 1 onsen on the balcony, so we took turns with my husband. There was a cd player with several Jazz collections. Restaurant food was delicious and the staff made sure to explain the menu and answer all the questions we had. Most of the time they’d use the portable translators. Hot springs/ spa area was rotated every morning, so we got to experience both bath areas. My favorite treat was the vinegar drink after the baths.

The service was professional, friendly and accommodating. We appreciated the shuttle pick-up at Gora Station and their shuttle service the following day to the Hakone Open Air Museum. Also, even though when making the reservation, we were told that dietary restrictions could not be accommodated – when we arrived for check-in and explained our situation, they did their best to meet my father-in-law's pescatarian diet. It was my father-in-law's first time at a ryokan and he loved the private onsen in his room. I would recommend for someone wanting a place to enjoy a serene stay away from the noise of the city. For those who want more to do other than eat & soak & read a book / watch TV, I would recommend elsewhere.
Given the price point, I expected a bit more attention to detail. For example, the basket to bring to the onsen was broken and even worse, a nail was sticking out from the handle. The food was nothing spectacular – I have had better food at more reasonably priced ryokans. Also, I wish there were more amenities & activities that we've experience at other ryokans such as massage services and group activities e.g., guided morning walks, etc.

Beautiful hotel with onsen in Hakone. The location is very good, near the bus stop and the main attractions. The hotel itself feels very new and cozy. The rooms are nicely decorated and comfortable. They have Japanese and Western style rooms so you can choose. The public onsen are very nice! They have different (very warm) pools and a sauna. They are separated by gender and each day they exchange so that you can enjoy both onsen. The food offered is delicious. Breakfast and dinner are served as Kaiseki meals and you can tell they have been prepared and served with so much attention to detail. The staff of the hotel and the restaurant are very kind and despite I didn’t speak Japanese they went out of their way to help me in everything they could and make me feel welcome. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are planning on visiting Hakone for a few days and want to experience onsen and authentic Japanese food!

Fabulous location. Beautiful views of the countryside. Very convenient location. Staff were so friendly and accommodating! The amenities and room setup was fantastic and beautiful and very new looking. And the onsen? So relaxing and invigorating, clean and supplied with everything and anything one would need for cleansing and healing. The meals both at breakfast and at dinner were spectacular!

Amazing value for 2 top tier multiple course meals per day, lovely and quiet baths, and a great room. Friendly staff showed us around and the rules and accommodations were all very sensible. We were set up to have a relaxing time. The meals alone were worth the booking cost. I look forward to returning.
That I didn't stay there all trip.

A new premium ryokan type hotel offering very well designed rooms with fantastic amenities, exceptional service (the staff was very-very caring in a good way!), clean stylish onsen, and really tasty food. We would love to stay there for a couple more nights!
It is just a little bit out of the way (20-30 minutes by bus from Gora Station, 10 minutes by taxi)

I was impressed with the property and upkeep. Getting a chance to use both onsen sites (they switch every day between men and women) was a nice treat. The staff didn't speak much English but they tried their best and were extremely nice and accommodating. They even provided a gel patch for my child who had a sore neck.
The pillows were a little too thin, but this may be a personal preference.

Beautiful design and situated close to the Sengokuhara grass fields, quiet and relaxing stay.
Unfortunately had to encounter some rude tourists who were loud in the public onsen. Nothing against the hotel staff, just a reminder for tourists visiting from other Asian countries to be respectful of Japan and the Japanese culture.
