This Ryokan was Epic! The staff are exceptiional, the room was spacious, authentic and really comfortable. We used the private onsen which was really relaxing after exploring Hakone. The tub on the balcony was brill too.The food is amazing, we had two really good meals, and breakfast, wow! There's just too much. I would defintely recommend this place.
I'm sure when you're considering to come here, most of the stress is connected with how to get there. It's actually pretty easy however the hotel haven't quite projected that in their instructions. You only need one bus from Odawaya Station to the stop thats 500m from the hotel. The road from the bus stop to the hotel is quite steep and it will make you sweat if you dont arrange a lift with the hotel. I'm surprised they dont offer a 'call us and we'll come and get you' service as it's literally 45 seconds by car. Despite above, its worth the effort to come here. Centurion, please sort out your 'how to get here' instructions, they could be simpler.

The service was probably the best part of the this trip. There was a shuttle that picked us up from the bus station and drove us to the site. We followed one of the printed guides to visit the Glass Museum close-by and they drove us to the museum (we had to walk back to the hotel after) which was very helpful. The staff gave us a tour of the facilities when we first checked in and they were very helpful during our stay. They even brought our bags from the shuttle to our rooms. The size of the room (after coming from Tokyo) was very welcomed. They had a nice smell from the tatami mats and were pretty clean. There was some signs of water stains in the shower in the room but otherwise no other issues. The open air bath, that you have an allotted 45 minutes for, was one of the better baths as there was also a shower and a tub where you could cool off in between soaking in the hot water.
The temperature of the bathwater was a bit cooler than I was expecting for a hot spring. The women's public bath was a bit small but there was no one else there during the times I visited. The bath itself smelled a bit of wet wood.

Silence serenity and peacefullness of this place You see almost no other guests despite the ryokan was full Helpful staff Big room Kaiseki in the evening and nice breakfast Location out of the Gora fuss however easily accesible Pickup at bus stations offered Sulfur onsen
One day the water of onsen was transparent and smelled chlorine not sulfur, don't know why and never asked the staff about it. Maybe it's normal. The other days it was as usual. Western-style breakfast we had one day is in fast an adaptation of japanese approach to western cuisine. This is a matter of taste, however I liked it. You may have coffee in the hotel area but there are no cookies etc. Room onsens are very small , don't no who may fit there. We used public (noone inside) and private.

Everything was great! My wife and I stayed for 3 nights and loved it here! The private onsens in your room are quite small but they offer an open air private onsen where you book yourself a time and have it for yourself for 45mins. Staff were super helpful and it was very peaceful staying here. Everything is quite accessible by bus but be mindful to have the right change as some lines don’t offer any change. Otherwise just top up your Suica and you wont have any issues. The amenities were great the foot massage machine in your room and the coffee machine in the main lobby.
My only feedback would be to have the option to choose whether you want the Japanese styled meals or the Western styled meals. I know you come here for the experience to go for traditional Japanese styled meals but honestly there were probably 40% of things in there I just could not stomach i.e. all the slimy textured cold dishes and the raw horse meat etc. Experiencing it the first time is great but once it gets to your 3rd night and you’re just shoving it down your throat is not pleasant. The mains for dinner were great like the Shabu Shabu and Sukiyaki but the appetisers I could definitely do without. Could also do without some of the items in the breakfast meals too.

This was by far our favorite hotel we stayed at during our 2 weeks throughout Japan! From the moment we got off the bus the staff was incredibly helpful and made us feel so welcome! I'm SO glad we stayed two nights, one would have been fine but we were able to eat such an incredible variety of food and really get to enjoy relaxing at the property. The meals were incredibly tasty and the presentation was unbelievable! Also the free coffee machine in the lobby served up some delicious coffee! My one piece of advice would be to plan out your travels down to the minute re: getting into Hakone and to the hotel. We knew we were getting into Gora around 1:30PM on the Hakone Tozan Railway and knew the hotel did pick ups at a specific bus stop but couldn't find it on google maps so we asked them to pick us up there at 3PM just to give us enough time to figure out how to get there. Once we got to Gora, we found the most helpful man who worked at the train station who helped us get on the correct bus! It's about a 15 min bus ride from Gora to the hotel bus stop. There's some cute shops in Gora to grab a snack and walk around, there's even a Brewery nearby that we heard has good food. Once you do the bus one time it's so easy to get around. Just be prepared to give the hotel pickup / drop off times at check in for the following day.
Nothing! Everything was amazing!!

The hotel and services as well as the food were all great. The in-room tub was also great size. The public bath was great. There is ample bottles of water and other drinks provided in the fridge to fulfil and they are refilled if you ask for them and the staff seem very eager to please. The manager was very helpful in helping with shuttling us to the nearby train station.
It is definitely off a beaten path and familiarize yourself with the train and bus system between attempting to stay far away from the Gora station such as this site. I recommended that they have an instruction manual or map on the local train and bus system to help future travelers. I also think they should have a shuttle service picking you up and dropping you off at the Gora station. The current option is only to pick you up from the local bus station. Going from Gora station to the bus station is confusing for new travelers to the area.

The hospitality and service were incredible. We had a personal greeting when we first entered the property and every time thereafter, we were greeted with our slippers (you can't wear your street shoes anywhere on the property). The meals were incredible (breakfast & dinner included in our booking) and the food service was thoughtful and food presentation was beautifully done. We advised beforehand what meals we preferred (Western-style or Japanese-style breakfast and meals cooked/raw) and each time, they had our food perfectly presented. This was a great change from the rest of our trip which was very urban (Tokyo, Kamakura and Kyoto). We used shuttle service to pick/drop us off from nearby bus stop which we had pre-reserved; this was a plus because the hotel is located up a hill. Also, they were kind to take us to nearby attractions since it was pouring rain (not sure if this is always done; but, we appreciated this!). Staff always greeted with a smile. Private and room onsens were fantastic. We stayed in a Premium room and it was large and nicely decorated. Enjoyed the landscaped view from our window. Felt very relaxed in such a beautiful country setting.
Loved everything! Be prepared to let yourself relax and escape from the hustle & bustle of city traveling. For sight-seeing, be organized in figuring out public transportation and reserve the hotel shuttle to get to/from the nearby bus stop (the hotel is not close to sites, which is a plus of the location).

The service, facilities and staff were excellent. The room was spacious with many little extras. We could use the private Onsen once a day and also had a small one for ourselves on the balcony. The food was fantastic and portions big. Can only recommend to stay there!
Mabye the only thing: the hotel is up the hill approx. 10-12min from the bus station - when we arrived we walked up all up there with our luggage. But maybe we could have organized a pick-up service.

The food was amazing, the staff very attentive and wonderful. The rooms are spectacular, honestly the best hotel room I've ever stayed in. Some other guests have complained about being picked up at the bus stop down the road but I had zero trouble! Actually I booked my train ticket last minute and only let them know a bit of time ahead on booking.com messaging when I could actually board the bus at the Hakone station. But someone was waiting for me when I got off the bus! With a backpack I think it was totally fine to walk up too, just up to your personal preference. The bath with natural hotspring water you need to book, but I actually found it more relaxing to bath in my room and the communal springs without a time. The hotel itself has a very calming charming relaxing space. Beautiful wooden elements and overlooking sakura trees.
I recommend booking the hot spring straight away when you arrive and also have a think about when is best with the times you want to have dinner / breakfast. It's not really a problem I think it's just nice to think about before you go as your favourite time might be booked up if you leave it too late. You can also only have one booking in the future, not book several days in advance. They also come pick you up for your first bath but not the second ! I felt silly waiting in my room for the second bath! Myself and a couple other guests had trouble with the hot water system in the bathroom and foolishly pressed random buttons to get it to work. Just ask the front desk for help!

The accomodation is beautiful, we loved it. The room is comfortable, large and has a beautiful view. It also had a foot massage equipment which was amazing. We relaxed so much in the private oonsen, which was large and beautiful. The food is good and tasty and the people who worked there were very lovely and welcoming. We had an amazing experience and would definetely come back!
We loved everything :) The location is a bit far and we didn't have a car so we went by bus and they picked us up in the nearest bus stop so it was not a problem for us. The driver was so nice! :)
