Beautiful location and beautifully maintained property. Amazing staff who were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about Hakone. Shuttle service to and from Gora station was very reliable. And of course the spa facilities are exceptional. The cleanliness of our room and the entire hotel were spotless.

The room, public spa and swimming pool and the restaurant were very modern and elegant, clean and tidy. We also used the laundry and microwave facilities and they were excellent. The open bar, non alcoholic drinks only, had an incredible range of hot beverages. Alcoholic beverages were available upon small charge. The breakfast was elegant and change every day. The staff was helpful. The private spa was private and well equipped.
Only few staff members knew English well enough to communicate with customers. The location is a bit far way from restaurants and a car is needed to arrive to the hotel, as the road is too narrow to walk safely alongside cars

The heated pool and sauna were great. It was relaxing. Complimentary herbal water, tea and coffee were conveniently available in the lounge. I also appreciated the gift of the original bottle. The hot spring bath set up on the balcony of the room was great, but I was concerned that the balcony fence was too low and would be visible from the outside. Please note that you need to make a reservation for dinner at least one day in advance and that the starting time of dinner is fixed in two parts. The only food available at the hotel is Western food, so if you want Japanese food, you will need to go elsewhere.
The hotel is located on a hillside, so getting to nearby convenience stores is a bit difficult without a car. Not many staff speak English, but you can use a translator.

New hotel, great spacious rooms with nice details, a swimming pool and amazing outside area with mountain views. Free high quality tea station, courteous staff - they even organised and drove us to dinner in nearby town in very cute izakaya as we didn't reserve dinner at the hotel.
The location is a bit difficult to get to by public transport, distances are not to be underestimated in that mountainous area. 1980ies brown design tones with Mao style Yukatas might not be for everyone. Their onsen was ok, but we are glad we went to a larger one with outside baths in town for the real experience.

This is a fantastic hotel to stay in, it is located up in the hills about a 10 min shuttle bus ride away from Gora in a very picturesque location. Reading the reviews prior to coming here was a little apprehensive however since staying there can understand some perspective, which may help others before booking: 1. If you are looking for a hotel amongst the shops, or access to a heap of fun activities for young kids or within walking distance to local spots etc, this hotel may not be for you. The hotel is centred more around relaxation and providing some space particularly if you are on holidays and have been in Kyoto or Tokyo and just want a 2-3 days to just get away to a quite location is the more ideal setting. 2. The staff will make this clear upon checkin (and there are signs up as well). Taxi accessibility (understandable so given the location) can take time, particularly in peak seasons. Upon arrival (even maybe a day before) let them know your travel/taxi requirements so the staff can prearrange taxis etc. The staff are excellent and will prearrange everything just don't turn up at the front desk and ask for taxi and expect one to be there within 10 mins. For example we went out for dinner at another restaurant offsite from this hotel and asked for a taxi back to our hotel upon finishing our meal. We were told initially it would take an hour. However the people at the restaurant were kind enough to contact this hotel who then rang around for us and managed to find a taxi for us within 20 mins. Hire a car if you are looking to have more freedom here. 3. The restaurant food is limited however the food is fantastic, the salad bar is organic and fresh and the dishes served and drinks served are beautiful. If however you are choosing to stay at the hotel more than 3 days (and eat only at the hotel) I could understand some who be frustrated by the lack of choice. Outside of the above, this place is awesome for a short break away!!!

the facilities of the hotel were excellent. the private onsen in the room was amazing and definitely try to book the room with the iwaduro style onsen. it is well worth it. the staff at the hotel was exceptional. i had forgotten my passport in the safe in the room and left for gora station, once I contacted the staff to let them know this they immediately had it located and ready for me to pick up from the reception and they helped me back to the station as well so that I could be on schedule for reaching odawara station! very grateful for such thoughtful individuals at the hotel!
there was nothing to dislike.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Not Noel Hakone Myojidai Hotel, and it was an overall delightful experience with some truly memorable highlights, alongside a few minor drawbacks. Location: The hotel’s location on a hill is nothing short of breathtaking. The serene garden surrounding the property provides a stunning view of the autumn landscape and the mountains beyond. It was incredibly pleasant to unwind in the garden, soaking in the natural beauty that enveloped the hotel. The setting truly enhanced our experience, making it feel like a peaceful retreat. Room Quality: Our room was exactly as depicted in the pictures online—spacious, clean, and modern, yet it also maintained a lovely traditional Japanese feel. The blend of contemporary design with classic elements made for a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. We felt right at home, and the attention to detail in the decor was commendable. Onsen Experience: The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the onsen on the balcony. It offered a private escape, allowing us to relax while enjoying the stunning views. The onsen was spacious enough for two people, making it an ideal spot for a romantic soak after a day of exploring. The privacy it provided was a significant plus, enhancing the overall experience. Dining: We found the dinner to be enjoyable, but the breakfast was simply outstanding. The variety and quality of the dishes were excellent, allowing us to start our day feeling satisfied and energized. The breakfast experience was a highlight and something we looked forward to each morning.
Noise Issues: However, there was one downside to our stay. We experienced significant noise from the guests in the room above us. We could hear every step they took, which was quite disruptive at times. While this is not the hotel’s fault, it did affect our overall comfort and tranquility during our stay, especially because they woke up at 6:00 AM, and started to do jogging (or whatever) in their room. We did not addressed this to the stuff because we did not want to create any trouble for just one stay, but was really unpleasant.

Its unique in location being located in a forest on higher ground, the amenities like the onsen and thermal pool are great, I enjoyed the breakfast and it does create that resort feeling very well. Represents well what Hakone has to offer with hotspring water onsen.
I think booking times for shuttle pick up should open up to times later in the day. It was hard for me to book a ride back to the hotel going through the hakone loop as that requires planning to get back to gora/getting through more of the hakone loop at a faster pace before the last shuttle time (the hike back from gora station can take 40 min-1 hr).

The service and hospitality of the staff was beyond excellent. The food was delicious and the facilities and amenities of the hotel was fabulous. The onsen in the room was the highlight of our stay. And all the beverages provided during the day till 10pm was amazing in variety! I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for the perfect onsen experience in hakone! The staff was polite and went out of their way to provide us all services whenever requested!
It's difficult to get them to respond on email. However they are very prompt on booking.com.

The location was lovely. The hotel was beautifully appointed. Facilities provided were of a high standard with an area providing refreshments. There were, also, washing/drying machines available. Breakfasts were generous and fresh (but limited choices). Staff were very attentive (but not obtrusive).
The room was identified as Tatami but didn't appreciate how raising ourselves from a low bed and sitting in low chairs would affect us "older" folk. Didn't detract from the visit. Be aware the hotel restaurant books out quickly the day before you want to eat.
