The room was simple and basic. The breakfast and dinner were nice. the onsen was nice.

From Happo one bus terminal we had to walk to the hotel as it was so busy during snow season and there were no taxis or transfers. The taxi company was not taking any more requests. It was extremely hard to walk up the hill with my bag and board bag. I will not stay here again purely because of that reason. The walk was horrendous and the road was rough. My bag wheels were damaged. If you were a young family of four it could NOT be done on foot. The local bus system is very tricky also. mostly full each time too.

This unassuming hotel just works. It’s walking distance to one of the key skiing schools where we send our kids to every morning. It has a nice public bath with an outdoor area where my kids had so much fun bathing in the snow. It has a restaurant that serves buffet with free flow alcohol for very affordable prices. It has a drying room so we basically park all our wet and cold gears in there and next morning they are dry and warm. Staff were always polite, friendly and helpful. This is the Honda of hotels - it’s no luxury, but it has everything you need and gets job done.

The in room facilities was very basic. Aircon was a bit loud. But we had comfortable sleeps especially after a nice warm bath and a full belly.

Rooms are large by Japanese standards but really just a room and bathroom, not that much additional space if you had full capacity. Onsen on site is a bonus but very much traditional and etiquette must be followed - make sure you are aware of this. Location was fantastic compared to so many other places - this is very much in the snow and you could walk maybe less than 100m to lifts.

Breakfast was very hard to find the place can feel a bit like a rabbit warren. The food at breakfast was limited by western standards. Wifi was definitely challenging at time if not all the time. Comfortable but be aware of things like stairs rather than lifts, limited temperature controls (but very warm, which is great in the snow).

Great place to stay if you want a Japanese experience. Old hotel but has everything you need for a ski holiday. Traditional Onsen was wonderful after a day on the slopes. Large area dedicated to ski lockers and drying room. Short walk into the centre of Happo but a bit hard up the hill coming back.

Rooms were small but is what you expect in Japan.

Love the all you can drink buffet.

Terrific value for money. This hotel has a great retro kind of vibe with large open plan relaxing area and open fire burning. Walk straight over to lifts from the hotel. Great ski storage area and drying rooms. Great onsen included in price. We included breakfasts and that was terrific too. Friendly staff..

Can't complain about anything

Location is fantastic, just a minute walk away from the one of the ski lifts and a short walk to many restaurants and bars. Breakfast and dinner buffets are cheap and pretty tasty for the most part. Staff are kind, friendly and attentive.

Food could be better, namely the buffet was cold half the time, (as in, for example, fried chicken wasn't being kept warm and went cold while sitting in the buffet). Room was well presented and clean for the most part, we found popcorn and rubbish from a previous guest under the bed.

Dinner on site made things easier with kids. The accomodation was close to the lifts and very convenient. Staff were very helpful.

The dinner could do with a more variety. Having alternate menu's from day to day would be great. I did get sick of eating the same thing every day. Breakfast isn't a problem, I often have the same breakfast.

Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Just a short walk to the ski lifts. Buffet dinner in the hotel is also a good option. Staff were excellent and a great help any time we needed. Ski storage was simple and handy.

Was a little bit of a walk to the main part of Hakuba but not too bad.

What an amazing place the rooms where big the indoor outdoor onsen where magical right across the street from the lifts all the facilities where perfect the staff where the most hospitable we have experienced on our trip will be back here every year their is no better place to stay in hakuba! Thanks to all the staff.
