Excellent location, ultra-clean and super-nice staff. Our first night’s stay was in a smallish room with a single queen-size bed; when we decided to extend our stay one more night we moved to a twin bed room which was quite a bit larger and had a bathtub. Our taxi driver had great difficulty in locating the hotel even with the address provided by the hotel itself. The Splaisir occupies the 4th through 12th floors of a huge multipurpose building called “Yokohama Front.” There is nothing we saw on the outside of the building that indicates it houses a hotel, so be aware. An excellent, pricey, bakery is adjacent to the hotel check-in area as is a restaurant serving only Japanese food.

We liked everything.

The first thing I really liked was that everything was very new and clean and felt luxurious, which makes sense because the hotel just opened earlier this year. The size of the standard room is also larger compared to other "Sotetsu" hotels that I have stayed at. The toilet and shower is in separate rooms, yet they were still very spacious. The bedroom also had an extra space to fit a small couch. The amenities were all provided in the room, such as combs, toothbrushes, towels, etc. And they were just replaced whenever you have housekeeping. There were also plenty of self laundromats in each floor, which was a godsend because I didn't bring enough clothes and I sweated too much everyday. Checking-in and checking out was an easy process, and there was always staff nearby to help. There was also a fitness/gym room but I did not use it during my stay. The location was quite nice. There was a very delicious bakery right at the lobby, as well a restaurant for the breakfast and other meals. The hotel was located on the new Yokohama Front, at the 4th floor. There were plenty of restaurants in the 1st and 2nd floor. There was also a walkway to Yokohama Station, which was very convenient. They also had a luggage storage space near the lobby. The last thing I really liked the most was that there was a grocery right at the back entrance, near the elevator. This grocery helped me get affordable meals and snack when I didn't want to spend too much money. And this grocery is a lot closer than any other convenience store in the area. It was called Bunkado.

There was a weird smell in my bedsheets and pillows. They looked clean and they were changed every other day, but maybe the detergent or the way it was washed was different. Also it was first confusing when I tried to find the hotel on my first day. I exited from the North West Exit of Yokohama Station, and I took a left turn instead of turning right and going up the escalator to the walkway. Hopefully there could be a sign or directions near that area for first timers.

Great location, new and clean. We chose a room with a washing machine which was great for our longer stay, but they also had laundry facilities on every other floor as well. Big fridge in our room. Grocery store close to hotel. So many restaurants in area, loved options at NeWoman shopping center just next door. Loved city bakery in the lobby.

Slightly confusing to find but if you go to the hotel’s own website, they have maps with picture that really saved us!

The whole building was extremely modern and comfortable with both a delicious restaurant and cafe. The staff were really friendly and accommodating and both the check-in and check-out process was smooth and hassle free, including being able to look after your bags before and after your checked-in time. The hotel is in a great spot, right by the train station with lots of shops and restaurants nearby. I highly recommend visiting Yokohama and this hotel. Very happy with my booking.

With my flight landing early in the morning, but the check-in time being at 3pm (or up to 12 with a small early check-in fee), it does leave you waiting to just slump down in your room for a bit after a long journey. However, they are able to lock away your bags in the meantime, meaning you don't have to lug them around the city for long.

Prime location, right around the corner from Yokohama station. Lots of food options just downstairs, grocery store downstairs as well. Konbini around the corner. Gym is fantastic. Laundry room status available on TV. Vending machines on site too. Shower room and toilet separate was nice too. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Even the toiletries were great. Staff is AMAZING, super accommodating and helpful. Set up luggage transport with ease.

Little confusing to find the entrance as its on there 4th floor. On the pricier side but worth it. Bed on the harder side and pillows were thin but that's expected in Japanese hotels.

The Sotetsu Hotels The Splaisir Yokohama is a very nice hotel. We ended up staying in the Superior Double, which was very nice and roomy. The hotel is conveniently located about a five minute walk from Yokohama station. The room was very clean and modern. This a classy hotel for a reasonable price so it is a very good value. The Yokohama station area is a bit tricky to navigate as there are multiple levels of walkway bridges, but once you figure it out, the hotel is easy to get to from the train station.

Staying in the residential corner apartment gave us an amazing view of Yokohama city, but also a much needed opportunity to catch up on some laundry. It was incredibly convenient to have our own washer/dryer in our room. I don't know why this machine was so special, but it was the only one in all the hotels we stayed at that didn't leave our clothes damp! The whole room was modern and comfortable, and there were plenty of dining facilities available nearby.

It's a fairly new hotel which might explain it, but there was very little signage to find the hotel in Japanese or English. You couldn't tell there was a hotel in the building from the outside.

Great location just 5 mins walk from the station. The hotel is new and the rooms are slightly more spacious (not by much!) than most in the cities, though this is reflected in pricing. They provided PJs for you to use in the room which were nice and comfy. Beds are on the firmer side which my husband and I liked! They were able to accommodate our two year old in our room as well with no extra charges.

Hotel entrance is a bit confusing to find at first and you do have to go up a few escalators if you can't find the lift on the other side

Hotel room had small kitchenette, washer/dyer, and full Japanese style bathroom with separated shower and toilet. I could have stayed there comfortably for an extended stay. The hotel was next to the Yokohama train station, and connected to a shopping mall with a myriad of restaurants.

The vending machines all ran out of water. Unfortunately, the balcony area was completely inaccessible.

There was a restaurant and breakfast bar on ground level of hotel. We chose mainly muffins or toasted sandwiches with coffee for breakfast

It was difficult to communicate with staff as not many spoke English. It would have made our stay less stressful if there were instructions in English for the TV remote, washing machine and microwave.
