We really liked the service, the hotel staff were really accommodating and answered many of our questions. We also enjoyed the size of the room, it was large and comfortable for a family of 3. It had all the amenities that we needed and it was a good place to stay and rest. The food was remarkable, we did not expect our dining experience to be filled with a lot of good food and the portions were generous.

The hotel looks a bit dated already, having been built around the 90s so it is starting to look its age. The location is a bit way off from the main road, so something to consider, especially when traveling in the evening. Other than that, the hotel was good enough for the price that we paid for.

We stayed in the Japanese style room . Loved the super helpful staff, clean facilities in a countryside location with adequate punctual and sufficiently frequent shuttle bus options. We really enjoyed trying the onsen and the dinner and breakfasts. were great and beautifully presented. All in all a great Japanese style stay.

Dinner and breakfast were a wonderful experience, however the price racks up relative to the accommodation price and this is not apparent when you book. Budget a bit more for it as it's worth it.

We stayed here for one night, and it was really pleasant! We were picked up by the hotel's shuttle service from the train-station, which went smoothly. The room (japanese style), was really spacious! Staff were very helpful and friendly, and dinner and breakfast were excellent. I requested gluten-free meals and they were able to accomodate, which we greatly appreciated!

There isn't too much to see around the hotel grounds, but we stayed here on our way along the Nakasendo, and it was a nice stay!

Love the location in the mountains. Beautiful autumn colours. Pick-up & drop-off at train station on time. Staff did a special trip to station for us at 7 am (stipulated transfers only 8,9, 10 am) even though we were willing to pay for taxi. We stayed 3 nights half board. We were served different menus for every meal. The public bath is smallish but adequate.

Hotel is a bit dated. Always check train departure & return times from station to destinations so as to time transfers. You can get these at tourist info centre in town. Helpful if hotel has the time schedules readily available.

The staff in the hotel were all friendly and helpful. We only stayed for one night, however we were able to spend plenty of time in the bath after our arrival. The room and bathroom were very clean and well equipped. The breakfast was fantastic and we were left very full. We were happy that there was a shuttle bus to take us to and from the station as it would have been a little far to walk. Thank you :)

I stayed as a mid-way point through Nakasendo. I have nothing but praise for this hotel. They picked me up at the station due to extremely heavy rain without me giving them prior notice which was appreciated. I would’ve frozen otherwise… 😂 The room is beautifully traditional but the highlight is definitely the outdoor spa sauna complex. Amazing!

Lack of English instructions for tourists. Smartphone apps such as Translate are needed to converse with the staff. The Wifi was not very strong in the rooms

Hotel room was spacious and clean, all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Hotel manager Yugo is always so patient even though we ask lots of questions. We were shuttled back and forth Kiso Fukushima station at the arranged time by different staff each day. Breakfast set was so sumptuous for the 3 days we were there (more like dinner set to us). There is public bath facilities within the hotel and a forest nearby to explore and we took lots of beautiful pictures as well.

we were traveling from Tsumago to Narai for our Nakasendo Walk. the hotel was so kind to pick up our backpacks from the Train station at Kisofukushima at 8.40am so we can hike without carrying our backpacks (our train arrived at 8.30). we have ample time to catch the 9am train to Narai for our walk. then at 5.15pm, the shuttle bus pick us from train station to hotel for overnight stay. wonderful service!

just a bit far from train station. but the shuttle service makes up for this.

great location, nice rooms, clean, loved the onsen, excellent breakfast. We enjoyed our stay. Perfect for Kiso Valley travellers rooms, onsen, breakfast. Nice location in the nature. large and generous Japanese breakfast with a special dish for children. Loved the nice Yukata selection.
