The breakfast that needed to be pre-ordered was great. The self catering communal space was sociable and pleasant. The available food to purchase was very useful. The hotel was exceptionally clean, well-maintained and stylish.

It was a long way from the station up a steep hill with no shuttle bus and it was sometimes difficult to get a taxi. It would benefit from additional catering facilities.

New hotel, nicely designed. The room was spacious and comfortable and the staff was great excellent! Nice to have outdoor patio seating along with the lounge.

It's too far to walk to and from town. There is no shuttle and no restaurant. Therefore, you must take a taxi to even get breakfast or dinner. There is a small shop with some food items provided.

Modern hotel with really well organized rooms with good shower room. The rooms had a great view over the town.

The hotel only has self service food arrangements so breakfast if you choose it is in a bag. They do have quite a good selection of food and drinks to buy at reception but our preference was to walk into town - 20-30 mins walk although there were some restaurants that were closer but not open the nights we were there. The local cafe was really good with some great cakes!

Everything about this property is stunning. One of the best designed hotels I’ve stayed in for a long time. The staff were also incredibly friendly!

The only thing I didn’t like was the distance from literally everything in Nikko. Didn’t think it would be too bad, but there aren’t any busses to the area. We tried to walk but it was quite dark/not well lit on the way there, so definitely get a taxi from Nikko Station instead.

This hotel was a delight for our stay in Nikko. The room was a good size, clean, and comfortable. The major issue is its location and no breakfast service/restaurant. The hotel is a 30 minute walk from the center of town. Looking at the hotels in center town, this was certainly the better choice. There is nor regular transportation in the area. A car is certainly useful. A taxi from town to the hotel was 1000 yens. Being New Yorkers we walked back and forth each time. As for breakfast there is no restaurant in the hotel or nearby. The hotel does provide free coffee and tea, and it has a small area in the lobby to purchase food. There are a microwave and a pizza oven to prepare the food. Another option is buy food in town and store it in the room’s mini-fridge.

The hotel is beautiful - looks and feels new, modern, great design, spacious rooms. Beds are big and comfortable. There was an electric kettle and a fridge in the room as well as mugs/beverages. The hotel has a small store to buy basic products, including food, there is also a microwave for guests' use. The lounge is where you can meet other guests and chat a bit, a lovely space.

For this price, and given that there are no restaurants/stores around, breakfast should be available and included. My room was on the first floor and in the evenings the entire hallway smelled of food prepared in a nearby lounge (mainly burnt pizza); the smell was also getting into rooms.

nowhere to eat nearby, you pretty much need a car to stay here it’s not that convenient if you don’t have a car. if you have a car it’s only 5 mins drive from main area and plenty of parking

Rooms were very spacious by Japanese standards. Ours was light and bright, well-designed and very comfortable, and there is a pleasant common area for eating, coffee etc.

The hotel is a relatively long walk (especially with bags) from the centre of Nikko and from restaurants and cafes. Would be fine if you had a car (and there is plenty of parking space) but the path is fairly dark at night so we depended on taxis to get back to the hotel and these can be very difficult to get at times. On the other hand, there is a pleasant area to sit if you choose to bring back take-away food for dinner.
