Great size room - private room for a bunk bed/capsule price! The lounge was good and has games consoles etc and comfy seating spaces, decent bathrooms and shower rooms. Very close to the metro and JR stations (about a 1 min walk to metro and 2 mins to JR), and close to Shinsekai and Tennoji. The different art in the hallways and bathrooms is a nice touch and gives the place some personality.

The cleanliness in the bathrooms wasn't great - there were stains on one of the toilet walls like someone had vomited in there :(

Affordable lodging for a solo traveller that's very near a train station. Bonus points that Shin-imamiya is linked directly to KIX, and there's a mega donki near it. Loved the vibe of the place despite it being old.

Just the toilet cleanliness. I don't fully blame the staff as I saw them clean it very well. More on the people staying, I think. To staff, maybe have a note in the toilet that says people can flush as much as they want if it means there's no feces left behind. The bathroom once had lots of hair from the previous user. Please put up a note (if possible) to not leave hair on the walls or shampoo/conditioner bottles. Also I know the lodging is very affordable but a small table per room might help a bit, not just the closet.

The team working at Toyo were all so lovely and friendly 🫶🏽 Really appreciate they all speak perfect English, which makes things easier for tourists like me. Basic room with futon on tatami, which was really comfortable. Location was convenient with easy access to Osaka metro and loop line, and a stone throw away from restaurants, shops etc.

Overall, the place could do with a proper scrubbing - don't get me wrong, it's clean, but stains and marks on all walls, floors in absolutely every room (common areas, bathrooms etc.) made it feel a little rancid, even though it's not. WiFi was unreliable and cut out several times

- The hotel is very close to Dobutsuen-mae metro station and Shin-Imamiya train station, making it easy to access Osaka's touristic attractions. There is also a Family Mart across the street in case of need for supplies. - The staff is very friendly and warm. - The place is decorated with flags and photos of past guests, making it welcoming to tourists. - The showers are clean and comfortable. Shampoo and body soap are provided at no extra charge. - The room, although small, had enough space for one person and really felt like a typical Japanese bedroom. - The price for the stay was quite affordable.

The hallways feel narrow and the building actually looks old. Although for a small amount of 100 yen, bath towels are provided with extra charge. But all this is understandable since this place is focused on people who want to travel on a budget.

The hotel is positioned perfectly if you want to travel around, even outside of Osaka. Facilities are clean and you got all you need from washing machine and dryer to microwave and hot water. Baths has shampoo and body wash provided too. You just need to bring your own towel. The room is bigger than thought, comes with extra blanket in case you are cold, a fan and a few cloths holders. The staff was amazing, always helpful and positive!

The room has tatami which has it's own smell. If you are sensitive it might bother you. The futon provided was very thin I could not sleep on my side because it was just too painful.

Sleeping in an individual dormitory was amazing. It even had tv. They provide foot warmers, which was great because my room didn't have heating. There were a lot of people staying there, but I didn't have to wait one single time to use the bathroom or shower room. The kitchen is big.

The shower room is very cold because the place doesn't have heating. The shower was very difficult to adjust; all I could get was too hot or too cold. But that was the only inconvenience.

I stayed 10 nights in Toyo, The location is great. The little room was very confortable , the tatami was great and even it was hard summer, I could sleep super without AC, just with the ventilator. The staff in the hostel was super nice and helpful, it's a place with a super nice vibe. Also they offer some activities inside the place, I did two meditation sessions with Yas (a budist monk now living among us), this was one of the highlights from my trip. For the price I think it is an exceptional choice. I would definitely come back to Toyo in my next trip.

I can say that a deep cleaning weekly/every 10 days of restrooms, showers and kitchen (including fridges) would be a great bonus.

Love that I have my little privacy with such affordable price as Japan can be quite expensive for accomodation. I took the normal room without A/C during winter (jan 11-jan25) at the beginning it was cold believe due to the window was open before my stay. But thanks to the feet heater in the room it helps me as someone who quite ok with cold air. For those not maybe better take one with A/C(heater). Staff were friendly and helpful they will great u everytime u go out and in. Help me with my luggage together cuz I stay at level 3. Wifi strong no issue at all. Everything is near. Nearest station is Dobutsuen mae (midosuji line) but if you from airport the nearest would be Shin Imamiya east exit.

The wall quite thin and sometimes people can be a little noisy. For light sleeper better wear earplug or headphones like me with noise cancellation. It helps a lot!

Own room to yourself, bed is basic thin futon so suitable fondly for the young but i.m not and it was still comfortable. Area was vibrant and close to everything especially Namba and Tennoji. Staff were friendly and helpful. price was amazing. Young backpackers were well represnted in staying here.

Rooms both in and outside smelt funny but this is normal for these type of hotels at this price. Area was noisy on street, but I sleep anyway when I'm tired,so didn't bother me

You have a room for yourself. It's a rather social place so you're likely to meet people in the social room. Clean bathrooms. Cheap laundry options. Usable kitchen with fridge. TV with consoles. I left my luggage before and after my stay and it wasn't a problem. Nice staff. Lots of people staying here for very long. Most of them, however, are foreigners. Free coffee and tea in the mornings until 11 am.

Room had no AC. I don't mind but it also meant that you'd need to open your door and use the fan to get the hot air out and the cold air in from the corridor before going to bed. Common areas not particularly clean. There's not that much going on in the neighborhood. Water dispenser just tastes like tap water to me, I don't think it was filtered.
