Stayed at this hotel and was very satisfied with the experience. The room size was perfect for two people, with plenty of space for both large and medium luggage. It's located conveniently near Family Mart, which was super handy for grabbing snacks and essentials. The Hanazonocho train station (Osaka Metro) is also just a short walk away, making it easy to get around the city. An added bonus is that they provide an iron upon request at the reception, which was really helpful. They also have a coin laundry facility on-site, which was a lifesaver for freshening up clothes before heading home. For Muslim travelers, there’s a halal restaurant within a 5-minute walk, so finding halal food nearby was incredibly convenient. Overall, I would highly recommend this place for a comfortable and convenient stay in Osaka!

The hotel was very nice with excellent staff. It's very urban, but my room was incredibly quiet considering how much street traffic there was. I had asked for a higher, bright room, and that probably helped. Also, there was a very nice grocery store about a block away, and the subway station was about 10 fee away so you can get pretty much anywhere. So yes, I would stay there again, but it's unlikely I'll be back in Osaka (even tho I found some gems). There are other cities I enjoyed more, and there's still a lot of other places in Japan I'd like to go to sometime in the future.

There isn't much to do in that part of Osaka (South Namba). Restaurants are limited; no attractions nearby. Note: The images of the city are not South Namba, but Osaka in general — to give a sense of the city.

This place was great! It was right next to a metro station, very clean, cheap, the beds are actually comfortable (which is kind of rare in Japan), and the staff were incredibly kind and made my stay in Osaka super fun!

In theory it was once a "bad" neighborhood of Osaka, but now it's quite cool and you don't need to worry. There is also a lot of nice restaurants around! And with the metro you are everywhere pretty quickly - you can store your luggage with them before and after check in

- if you get a corner room to the street, the noise can be a bit loud at times. But I think earplugs are provided if you need them.

During our two-week trip to Japan, R Hotel Namba truly stood out as our top choice for accommodations. The reasons are plenty: the hotel’s strategic location near the train station, a 7-Eleven, and a large grocery store was extremely convenient. The room was fantastic—spacious, comfortable, and reasonably priced. We also appreciated the flexible cleaning service, which we could request as needed. The thoughtful touches like drip coffee and green tea/hojicha tea added to the experience. Above all, the staff were friendly, attentive, and provided excellent information. We’ll definitely stay here again in the future!

Super clean and comfortable and incredibly friendly helpful staff at reception. I stayed for four nights. Super modern well-presented decor throughout the hotel and guest room. Very well positioned only steps from the front door to the subway entrance and Lawson is a few doors from the hotel. Great value for money supermarket across the road and a local shopping street a block away. Close to everything yet a pleasant escape away from the hustle of the city only 5 minutes away by Subway. A special mention must go to Tanoue on the desk, she was super helpful and pleasant to deal with, no request or enquiry was a problem. When I'm back in Osaka I'll be staying at R-Hotel Namba South again 😀

We really enjoyed our stay here. It has good access to subway lines and is a little out of the hustle and bustle of the centre, which we enjoyed coming back to after a busy day. The staff were lovely and so friendly! They also communicate really well in English which we appreciated. We stayed in the double room and the bed was super comfortable and we found we had a good amount of space. It’s very affordable for the size of the room. Would really recommend!

The room was cosy, very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. While the room was on the small side, it was a decent size for Japan and totally fine for two travellers. The hotel location was great and made it very easy to travel around the city. We also made use of the laundry service, which was an absolute must when we booked. Overall we had a lovely stay and would stay here again if we came to Osaka again.

This is not a negative, just something to be aware of, but room cleaning is not done automatically. Instead, guests need to request for their room to be cleaned during their stay. That being said, fresh towels and other toiletries are freely available near reception.

There is one "but" with this hotel, otherwise it will be 10/10. But the noise... Window is unable to isolate noice from street. You can expect loud night sirens from ambulances and the loud sounds of motorbikes, which are obviously doing night-time races. Room door is not good as well. If you have bad luck for neigbours, you can hear chatting in hall like they were inside your room. It's a shame about these problems, because otherwise it would be an absolutely perfect hotel. Maybe you will be lucky. We slept here for 3 nights and one was ok.
