The hotel is very nice. It is close to the station (about a 5 min walk), although if you come in on the train, there are buses waiting at the West exit. (Didn't need a prior reservation as I forgot to make one) There are 2 onsens which were very nice and were pretty quiet, despite the hotel being full. There are a lot of tour groups (both Japanese and foreign) that stay in the hotel. The breakfast is amazing with lots of options for everyone - Japanese and Western foods. There is a new wing and an old wing. We stayed in the new wing in a room that was very spacious for Japan with 2 Western beds and 2 single futons. Both were very comfy and comfortable for a family. Note, the Western beds are the size of a double.

The hotel is a bit out of the way from the attractions and the main area of town. 5 min walk the opposite direction from train station. The onsen is closed during the middle of the day for public use, so if you are there to spend all day in the onsen, this may be an issue. Also, they do not loan umbrellas, so if there is a chance of rain, either take your own or be prepared to buy one. Do not choose this hotel if you are looking for a view - we had a view of the fans and parking lot, not sure if maybe the other side of the building had a better view.

The room is super big and comfy. The amenities, the bedding, the decors and the design made you feel like you were in the luxury hotel. The location is in walking distance to the old town/center. We pretty much walked to the town for sightseeing, shopping, and eating every day. We were there for 3 days. The buffet breakfast is super nice. A huge selection of both western and Japanese food. We tried both and they were delicious. They also have open kitchen, you can order your choice of breakfast egg dish. BTW, they have the best cappuccino! Must try! The take-away-coffe is a plus. We didn't get a chance to try their onsens since we were too busy out. We were very happy to stay in Green Hotel. The pictures of the room(Premiere Twin Room - Non Smoking - (New) Orinkaku Wing)on the website didn't do its justice. The room is even nicer in person. We will stay here again!

This the best Hotel we have stayed in. Great selection of restaurants within the hotel serving a variety of cuisines. A fantastic coffee shop with a view into a large traditional garden with large snow flakes falling. Good value buffet breakfast. Easy walk to the old town, station and bus terminal. We were on the 7th floor in a Western style room that afforded stunning views of the snow capped mountains. Our son and his wife and our 2 grandchildren stayed in a traditional Japanese room and they loved it. The onsen was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I stayed at the new wing and loved the room. It is very spacious, clean, comfortable and feels new. The hotel is pretty big and there are two onsens to check out. The beef stew at the Izakawa restaurant was good.

Wished they had earlier and more frequent shuttle bus, I took a taxi to the station in the end because of the snow. Taxi is about 800 yen so still alright. Recommend that you make reservations for restaurant early if you intend to eat there. I couldn’t get a reservation for second night (even though it seems empty) and had to settle for the chinese restaurant (which was not good).

I had an incredible stay at this hotel. The highlight was the two beautiful onsens within the same building, offering a serene and relaxing experience. The staff were welcoming and attentive, ensuring a perfect stay. My room was spacious, clean, and new! Despite the fact it's 50 years old, you can only tell from their experienced staff. There is a big shop next to the lobby where you can shop for some local souvenir too.

However, the taste of the meal plans was quite ordinary and lacked surprise. Overall, my experience was memorable, and I highly recommend it for a relaxing getaway. Can't wait to return!

We stayed at the Orinkaku wind, Premier Twin room is very spacious, comfortable, it was snowing and soak in the onsen was really great. The executive lounge offer some drinks, like Whisky, beer, soft drinks, coffee, but nothing to eat except some tibits. The breakfast was great too, many choices, western, Japanese... Hotel is about 10 mins walk to the Takayama Station, but they also provide shuttle services every hour. I didn't use it as I used the private transfer.

The location is OK, with shops nearby, but most close after 5pm including restaurants.

Facililities were well maintained. Very good location and walking distance from markets but away from the crowds. Parking was aplenty. The staff tried thier best to help. True deluxe hotel. Best service Ive experienced in a Japanese Hotel.

The only negative point there was the receptionist in their Shirakawago restaurant. He was rude and unaccomodating if you are not Japanese. Very unfortunate for a hotel with good standards to have that kind of staff.

Seems like Takayama Green Hotel is an old and familiar hotel in the region , with many clients. The hotel is huge , the complex contains several different buildings and facilities , we stayed in traditional Japanese room (west wing) , the room was clean and in OK size for 4 ppl , more than that might be a little bit crowded. The staff prepare the futon beds and the beddings at 7 pm , and take them out at the morning which is very convenient. The breakfast is reach and tasty. The onsen is very nice , big and clean (there are 2 onsens available for the customers) several indoor pools and one wide outside pool , wonderful way to finish a long day. Free sauna is also available. The location is not in the middle of the center , but you can easily reach the center by foot (20 min), and close to train station.

There is a huge parking lot in front of the hotel, taking 1000 yen per day is not ok ! The parking should be free for the customers

This hotel has different buildings, different style. We stayed in the Orinkaku Wing. The room was spacious and had lots of amneties. Nice sofa with view towards the city and the mountains. The design inside the room and inside the hotel is very beautiful! Nice and big beds, western style. The hotel has two onsen areas. The older one is big and nice with rotemburo. Very friendly and helpful staff. As known before: the hotel is west of the railway station, that means a little walk for the city center. There are some shuttle buses from the hotel. - Would love to come again!
