Our room was very spacious with two double beds. The room was clean and felt quite luxurious, as did the entire hotel. The onsen on the top floor was very nice; we used both the gendered separated onsen and the family onsen. The location was also very good; about a ten minute walk from the station, 10-15mins from the main attractions, there was a 7/11 5-10mins away as well as an excellent restaurant called Chitose. The staff were very friendly as well.
The only thing we didn’t like were the feather pillows as they flattened out to basically nothing and it felt like your head was directly on the bed.

A lovely hotel with their own onsen on the rooftop. Rooms are rather large for Japan, the bed is big and comfortable, and they offer a choice of normal pillows and grain pillows, like many hotels in Japan do. The location is a bit away from the buzz, 10 minutes away from the station, which may be both good and bad. The downside is that you have to walk 10 to 20 minutes to the closest restaurants and convenience stores. So mind to set on finding a dinner place early, because popular places fill up way too quickly in Takayama. The breakfast had many Japanese options (even onsen eggs!) and few western ones, so be prepared to breakfast like a local. A couple of words about the onsen: you can use pajamas they offer downstairs to walk to the onsen area, but you have to take the bath naked. There are separate public onsen areas for males and females, and 4 private onsens a family can use. There's no reservation for private onsens, first come - first served. The private onsen itself is really small, a cube almost 1x1x1m, just barely enough for 2 adults. But it feels soooo good! Remember to watch your condition, usually 15 minutes in the bath is more than enough because it's very hot! A private onsen is a great way to experience Japanese hot springs without having to separate with your family. There's also a lounge area near onsens, where you can take a free popsicle and relax on a tatami or in a chair with a gorgeous view of Takayama.
The check-in was strictly on designated time, no earlier. You can store luggage and explore but it feels a bit unwelcoming. The touristic area is a bit too far away (bad for securing places in popular restaurants). The private onsen is obviously heated and the water temperature was way too hot in the evening when the air temperature dropped. Maybe there should be more control here. The water in the bathroom isn't filtered, so it has an unpleasant smell. Be prepared, seems to be a downside of staying in an onsen town

We had a very comfortable stay at this hotel! The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable, clean, and had everything I needed plus extra for a relaxing stay. What truly made our experience exceptional were all the little extras that added incredible value – from complimentary items to thoughtful touches that enhanced our stay. Overall, it’s clear the hotel goes the extra mile to provide a great experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great value stay with outstanding service.
They have a smoking room inside the hotel and, in my opinion, there is no way to contain the smell from cigarette smoke from wafting into the hall and elevator.

Excellent service, friendly staff, very kind and helpful. Loved the additional facilities such as onsen, as well as the lounge with outdoor fire and marshmellows.. great memory. Room was clean and comfortable. Slightly cramped for 3 persons but still manageable for the 3 nights we stayed there.
Breakfast selection was limited. Large hotel which caters to tour groups, so dont expect a very personalized or bespoke stay. Was also a distance from the train station, but I guess that is reflected in the price savings. Quite a distance from the old town as well, 15-20min walk at the minimum.

The facilities really make this hotel and staff are very friendly and accommodating. I recommend trying out the private onsen and enjoying some drinks in their VIP lounge after which was 2000¥. Buffet style breakfast was also very delicious and ¥1000 yen to add on if it was not included in your booking 😊
The room we initially booked had a faulty aircon which made a whistling sound which made it almost impossible to get to sleep without head phones but in telling the staff this they were able to change and upgrade our room and gave us free entry to the VIP lounge. Couldn’t have asked for a better outcome and staff being so friendly and understanding were able to make this happen. I think the hotel management are doing a great job.

We loved the facilities of the hotel! The private onsens were great and the breakfast was varied and tasty! Our room was a good size and felt comfortable! The location is a few streets away from the station, we were able to roll our very heavy suitcases with ease. The staff were lovely, and were super informative and welcoming.
Although it was generally quite clean, the room could have been cleaner in certain areas. I found the room required a fair bit of dusting and there and there were quite a few dirt marks on the walls, particularly around the sink area. The phone cord was caked in muck (not sure what this was). However, generally fine in terms of cleanliness.

Room was comfortable and spacious. The onsen was very nice and the oportunity of private onsen was especially great. The lobby/bar on the onsen floor with complimentary green tea and popsicle was nice and very enjoyable after onsen bath.
We have no complaints about room or onsen etc., it was all great and we would stay there again. The only thing we would not take again was breakfast. Food was quite normal but the restaurant is really small for this hotel. Eventhough we arrived as suggested in the brochure as less crowded time we waited for cca 15 minutes (and there was a long queque behind us). Maybe it would be slightly better if the opening time for breakfast was longer.

Room was spacious. bed was big enough to sleep for 2 adult and 3 children. Location: near supermarket. other than than not in the heart of city. so overall convenient to take taxi around. it's about 12 minutes walk to bus or mrt station. Hotel come with free drink and onsen and free water in room. very good. have a balcony in our room. Really love the hotel. Would definitely come again.
a bit of walking distance from nearest convenient store. Hotel not able to send your luggage to another hotel. which was not very convenient for us as we had 3 children with us.

A very comfortable hotel that's well-located, equi-distant from the station and old town. We booked this primarily due to the private rooftop onsens, which offered a great experience after long days out and about. There are four of these 'family' private onsens and we had no issue with availability and also enjoyed the ice-pops after a soak. The other facilities are as you'd expect: rooms a bit small, but not bad for Japan and very comfortable, a good, wide-ranging breakfast available from 0630-0930 and plenty of vending machines to stock up on drinks and snacks etc, if you get back late, given so many local restaurants close early.
Breakfast could be organised a little better, especially when they have coachloads in for the night. We were there as a base for six days and had a range of both early and late starts. Each time we breakfasted a bit later, there were queues and even in our party of 3, not always possible to sit together. Perhaps timed slots, or a bigger space would help.

We were only here for 1 night and had a good stay. We didn't have breakfast included in our stay and there wasn't a Lawson or 7-Eleven in the nearby vicinity but otherwise the location is pretty good, it is around a 8 minute walk from Takayama Station. We arrived by bus from Matsumoto. We had been to Takayama previously so we didn't spend too long there. The morning market and famous streets in Takayama are close by and within walking distance so the location was great. Our room, although small, was clean. The shower and toilet are in separate rooms. I would recommend a stay here for the price and location.
