November 2024

I had a nice stay at Nui Hostel. I stayed in the dorm and it was very comfortable. There was absolutely no noise coming from the bar at the ground floor. I enjoyed particularly the facilities, like the open area on the 6th floor reserved for the hotel guests, ideal to do some work, to relax or to cook yourself something. The hotel is not on the Yamanote line, which for me was not a problem at all. I actually appreciated greatly how close it is to Senso-ji in Asakusa, and I would definitely recommend it especially if it's not your first time in Tokyo and you are looking forward to explore the eastern wards of the city (Taito, Sumida, Bunkyo, ecc).

I booked the room + breakfast. The food was good, but quite inexplicably there is no coffee/tea included. That's another 500Y I had to pay every morning. What's the point to serve breakfast without coffee or tea?

Convenient, affordable hostel in a quiet/trendy/local area of Tokyo that is well connected to other, busier areas of the city by subway. Everything was clean and well organized. Staff was friendly.

The common space upstairs was relatively small, and given that the cafe/bar on the ground floor is a public business, I didn't feel as comfy just hanging out there for a long time (e.g., I needed to buy something); not as social as I was hoping. The aesthetic of the rooms is a bit austere and the beds not super comfy (but felt like the norm for Japan).

Staff is very nice and cleans the hostel everyday, sometimes multiple times a day, has multiple floors connected via staircase/lift. The sixth floor is used as lounge where you can bring you own food/cook and eat there as well as a laptop working stations. There is a lovely roof to hang out and watch the sunset (rooftop closes around 22:00). Beds are good, they provide sheets and you make your own bed. Toilets and showers and good and provided with amenities such as different soaps etc.

Sometimes there are guests who are loud but it is very rare and can happen anywhere. Loud snoring people as well

The common areas seem taken out of a pinterest picture. The upper floor holds a very nice kitchen and common room to work, chill, study or meet people. Very convenient for those seeking some time for themselves. There is an iMAC to work on. Plenty of bathrooms, and showers on every single floor. The staff was extremely friendly and kind. The first floor, which is restaurant/bar, is a great area to meet local people and foreigners.

The price is a little bit higher than usual, and the bar below is what I would say is pricey, expect to pay 600 yen for your coffee and probably 2000 yen if you go for a course and a drink. However, nobody is making you go there, so it's up to you. It's a great add on to a hostel.

The refined and well stocked bar, the cafe with the flower shop set up inside providing decor but also a sense of community. As such the ground floor area intermixing these elements draws locals and travellers alike, and provides a cool ambience to while away time, meet new people or simply enjoy the great food and drink. It feels pretty novel in this sense and a much more holistic experience than a hotel or travellers only hostel. Staff are excellent

I reserved a single room. It was comfortable enough bunk bed setup in a small concrete room, not great value for the price but then its not really the main reason you choose to stay here. It's a quiet residential area but well served with transport links and has the Sensoji temple nearby. Provides a nice counterpoint vs staying in say the madness of Shibuya, so I would rate this as a positive, but if you're a mad crazy party animal that only wants uptime, stay elsewhere. For everyone's sake

Stylish decorations. Nice kitchen. Workspace upstairs. Common area was ok - not the best for socializing with others, more a place to work or eat by yourself. Cafe/bar downstairs was nice with decent food but a bit expensive. The bathrooms were amazing - clean, great water pressure in the showers, enough that you didn't have to wait a lot for the shower or toilet. Really close to the train. Not the most central part of Tokyo so it takes about 35-45 mins to get to the main areas but not a big deal since the station is only steps away from the hostel so that makes up for it.

Wish there were some planned social activities. The mattresses/bed in the dorms are very hard (just a thin piece of foam).

Great place to meet people either in the dorm or the common room for solo travelers. Beds were very comfortable and dorms had plenty of space for designated luggage storage. Lockers were provided in the room. The staff were also very helpful and understanding :)

Wifi was spotty and would drop out consistently. The downstairs breakfast/bar was a little expensive for hostel guests imo. A lot of subway-ing needed due to the location; although within ~5 minute walk to 2 major lines.

For the moment Nui Hostel is the best Hostel that I went in Tokyo. The rooms and the beds are nice, clean, sunny and really comfortable (even for the biggest dormitory). The floor for women is great : big bathrooms, always clean, hairdriers and straighteners available. But what is the nicest with this hostel is the atmosphere. The common areas are big and intimate in the same time, super friendly. You have a rooftop, big kitchen and living room, the bar downstairs is great. It's rare to find social hostels in Tokyo and this one was a perfect find. I am a solo woman traveller and it was so easy to meet people there. Last but not least, the staff is super friendly as well. I recommend 100% and for my next journey in Tokyo for sure I will book here again. Thanks !

The amenities were excellent, and the overall cleanliness was impressive. I particularly enjoyed the well-maintained common areas, such as the lounge and rooftop, which provided a cool and quiet space to relax. The location, situated next to a river, offered picturesque walks along its banks, and being near a train station made transportation convenient.

My stay in the dormitory with eight beds was comfortable overall, although it's understandable that some noise comes with shared accommodations. Unfortunately, there were some disturbances, particularly from fellow guests who snored. However, despite this, I found the overall experience to be satisfactory. One minor inconvenience was the size of the lockers, which I wished were larger to accommodate more belongings securely. Nevertheless, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the facilities met my basic needs for a budget-friendly stay.

This place slaps. It has that perfectly chill and grungy hostel feel while still being super safe, secure, nice, and full of amenities. The lobby cafe food is so good and so popular with even the locals they were shooting a commercial for local tv one day I was there. The rooftop has an amazing view of the canal and the sky tree. Close to a lot of cool things. Kappabashi kitchen street, sensoji temple, short ride to Ginza or Akihabara.

There were almost too many locals in the lobby it made it hard to meet other travelers
