This place is simply wonderful. The staff are warm and friendly and the place is spotlessly clean. It has a traditional feel to it and is my favourite place I stayed whilst in Japan for a month. I would 100% stay here again as the value for money is outstanding. I hope to come again in the future!

The walls are a little thin therefore you can hear other people and you have to be careful to be quiet. However, this is expected in a traditional Ryokan and it wasn't a surprise this was the case. However, it's worth flagging to people who wish to have complete privacy/freedom to be as loud as they want.

Spent a week here during my visit to Tokyo. Only about a 5-10 minute walk from Gotanda station in a very nice neighbourhood with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. Staff were very friendly. Single room had enough space to be able to open a large suitcase and had a lovely tatami smell. Perfect for a solo traveller who just needs a place to crash during the night. The public bath was also fantastic after long days of exploring the city--it's in a separate showering area, so you can lock the door and enjoy the bath in private. The whole experience made my stay in Tokyo a lot more special. :) Thank you!

Nothing that I disliked, only standard caveats for booking a ryokan--shared bathroom spaces; thin walls and doors, so you can hear what's going on in the hall. I had only one night where other guests were being a little loud going in and out of the room. If I were to stay here again, I would opt for one of the rooms with a private bathroom if I were staying for more than a few days since it was a bit of a hassle carrying my toiletries to and from the bathrooms each day.

It was a very great Japanese-style room for foreigners like me to experience and enjoy. The staffs were super friendly and helpful to assist me in getting along with traditional Japanese culture. They had great facilities (showers, a Japanese-style bath, washrooms) while still offering stays at a very affordable price. The even had the great scenery of Shinagawa outside the window (hence the name "Sansuisou", literally "villa of mountains and water"). Definitely a good choice if you wanted a quiet, clean, and pure Japanese-styled experience in a district with great natural sight.

The room was wide, but had some low ceilings, which wasn't very good for my very tall husband. It was located very close to the Gotanda station, so getting to the Yamanote train line was super easy, and made our last two days of Tokyo very easy to traverse. It was right by the river, and there were some sakura trees nearby, so I'm sure its a beautiful area during the spring! The Family Mart was also like a 30 second walk away, which was so nice. And a ramen shop in a nearby alley had THE BEST RAMEN. As a homebase spot, Sansuiso is in a very ideal location. Also, their shoe boxes had really cool locks. Maybe I'm easily impressed, but I thought it was rad. They also served some snacks in our room that I had been looking for for a few years, so I got excited about that too.

The carpet in the ryokan was a little strange, and our luggage did not roll well over it. Our room also had an ambient fishy smell to it that the rest of the ryokan didn't have. I'm not sure what exactly it was or where it was coming from. My husband didn't care, but I noticed it. When we checked in, we were warned that the trains were noisy, but I didn't really notice them. I heard them when I was awake, but at night they must have just made some background sound that helped me sleep better, I dont know. Still, would definitely recommend!

cute room, A/C (pretty common in Japan but still nice) close to the train station. close to grocery store. Nice having a bit more space than a capsule hotel. it was very quiet. didn't hear the other guests despite them being very open that the building is older and not incredibly sound proof (it's a traditional inn after all) I arrived early to drop off my bags and they simply let me check in early.

they provided a thermas bottle with hot water. perhaps a kettle would have been nice to heat more water myself. but the staff will happily bring you more.

The Ryokan is in a strategic position between Osaki and Gotanda station, and it's surrounded by nice izakaya. The staff is always available until midnight, however we barely needed their assistance. Rooms are cleaned everyday at 10, and we could count on fresh towels and warm water fot the tea for the tea set that is available in the room. The accomodations are even nice for working (I had to write an assignment there) thanks to the fast WiFi connection. Futons may seem a strange option for sleeping for a western person, but they are really comfortable and easy to make. In case you wanna have breakfast or any snack there's a family mart right at the left of the structure with nice tables outside.

Stairs are pretty narrow, but is normal for a Ryokan built in the 50s. Unfortunately our room wasn't very luminous, but it hasn't been a big deal. Unfortunately the airdryer is not available for free

Super friendly staff, easy check in and out, really nice simple room which was cosy and spacious enough for us. The bedding was super comfy and the room smelt so nice of the tatami matting. Easy to find and really nice location right near a waterway where we sat for breakfast and dinner. Right near a convenience store and really close to train stations that easily took us to spots in the city (Yamanote Line), to Kamakura and i think one stop away from the Shinkansen station to take us to Kyoto. I would 100% be back and high recommend.

There was no breakfast as we did not opt for breakfast. However, my partner and I really like the shower facilities. The shower room came equipped with a hot bath tub that did not require manual filling. It was already warm and you could step in after your shower. Their shampoos and conditioners and shower gels were great, my partner and I felt that our hair were soft and smooth after using it. Their service was top notch, their staff will change your bedsheets, towels & face towels, empty the bins, prepare a hot flask for hot water, a new yukata, and even arrange the things nicely for you. The location was also great, located near Gotanda station which is few stops away from the top hot spots such as Shinjuku / Shibuya. The staff will always greet us if they see us. Overall, it was a really nice atmosphere.

None.

The accommodations, from the room itself, to the bathing facilities and utilities, were simply amazing and not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. The staff, although they did not know much English, were extremely helpful, kind and understanding. The room was clean and spacious, and the private bath felt amazing after a long day of walking in the winter cold. So glad we booked the ryokan for our last night in Japan.

The walls are thin where you may or may not hear the neighbors next to you depending on how loud they are, but it did not bother us as much, just something to note.

Helpful staff who was always present for a small talk every morning before leaving. I used the Japanese style bath every evening to relax. Despite what can be thought, the futon was very comfortable! Room cleaned every morning. Excellent location close to Yamanote line, a JR line that goes directly to Shinjuku, Shibuya etc so very convenient. Easy day trips from there to. Laundry places at 5 minutes walk. Great ramen restaurant not far and a FamilyMart literally in front of a very cosy park and quays. Breakfast place at 2 minutes walk with western choices and great food!

Had a little insect problem one night but got changed of room so no problem with that for the rest of my stay. Being a ryokan, I think there should be a minimum age for babies and kids. A family was very noisy at night.
