I had a great time in Nagisaya Hotel. The room is in traditionnel japanese style (tatami and futon on floor) and had a wonderful view on the sea. The hotel offers interior and exterior onsen where I had my best time with the view on the moutain and a little on the sea (only men onsen has total view on the sea, women are on the other side). The staff is really friendly.

The route to walk from city station to the hotel is a little complicated to find, and not very easy-walking with the tunnel and the big road. But I discover the morning after that the hotel provides free shuttle to train station at some hours of the day. I could enjoy it to left.

The hotel is about 20 min walk from the train station but they have a free shuttle which made it perfectly convenient. It was absolutely worth being slightly further away as the hotel is located on a small cove which feels like you have private access to the sea and gives beautiful views from the rooms! There is an indoor and outdoor onsen (natural hot spring baths) both with lovely views and a comfortable temperature, with complimentary amenities. We had breakfast and one dinner at the hotel and everything was delicious, generous portions with attention given to seasonal and local produce. They were also able to cater to our dietary requirements (pescatarian and scallop allergy) well. At one point one of our party suffered a burn (NOT the hotel’s fault) and the staff were so helpful in providing us what we needed and were very kind.

It’s clearly an older hotel but well maintained and all the facilities functioned well. The indoor and outdoor onsen are not connected so you do have to get dressed to take the short walk between them but I personally didn’t find this to be a problem at all. The baths are supplied by 100% natural hot spring water so there’s a slight sulphur smell but I felt this added to the authenticity.

The view from our room was lovely and there was a feeling of old style elegance. The staff were polite and went out of their way to help when we left a pair of sunglasses in town - they immediately went to fetch them for us saving a hot walk. Very good service. The outside onsen was also good to have and we enjoyed a small walk along the rocks.

Everything is in need of an update as much of the decor is worn and there are not many power points in the rooms for devices. The shower/bathroom was very worn looking so we just washed in the public bath rather than use it.

The hotel is very quiet and quite dated. Probably when I stayed was not a busy season. All in all clean and well kept. The view from my room was gorgeous. The room was cozy and traditional. The fridge though was not working or maybe there was some switch but I didn’t use it anyway. I first thought that toilet and bath are shared but it isn’t. They’re even inside the room. The bath was obviously not usually used since rust marks are visible. The gender assignment for inside onsen indeed changed overnight so you have to ensure you enter the correct one. The outside onsen is so relaxing with the full sense of nature and outdoors but safe (since you’re all naked). The path to the outside onsen though is quite long and lonely if you’re just alone. :-D The breakfast was plenty, fresh and delicious. Aaah I love traditional Japanese food and it was superb. Going to the hotel for me was quite difficult. I had to take a taxi since I couldn’t walk by myself to that secluded part. The tunnel going to it gives Spirited Away feels. ^_^

Too quite it’s deafening. But it’s one of the things I like about it, too. :-) Also, the tap water smelled and tasted like rust. I couldn’t even use it for toothbrush and washing my face.

Even though it's a bit on the outskirts, the views and the wonderful onsen and rotenburo are definitely worth it. The room is spacious with views of the bay. Also, I thought the bathroom was shared, but it turns out there's a private bathroom in the room (although the shower is shared in the onsen)."

It's on the outskirts of the town. Since I arrived early, I left my luggage in the station lockers and later, took a taxi, the distance from the train station is only 1,5KM. On other occasions, I walked (it's a road with minimal traffic and a sidewalk for pedestrians).

Had such a wonderful relaxing stay after a rather stressful time in Kyoto after losing my phone! The traditional Japanese room I stayed in was absolutely gorgeous with stunning views of the ocean. Loved having all day and evening access to the onsen. Staff were very nice and helpful, assisting me with cancelling hotel bookings due to problems travelling after losing my phone.

Would have been good to have access to a microwave to heat food.

The location is quiet and beautiful, and the room was large and overlooked the water. There is a free shuttle service to the station available during the morning and afternoon. Sitting in the outdoor public hot spring bath in the rain overlooking the water was very relaxing. We enjoyed our three night stay.

This hotel is way past its prime and a bit stuffy with its rules. The Izakaya, night club, and snack bar no longer open, so the only option for food is in town, a 1.5km walk away (or 5 minute taxi or shuttle ride) through three tunnels, unless you pay for a full meal package in advance. There is no shower in the room, so you have to use the one in the public bath, which allows no privacy, and it's only open until 830am or after 4pm. There were fresh towels and yukatas each day but we noticed the surfaces in the living area weren't wiped down during our stay.

The meals were very high quality, plentiful and traditional. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were gender separated, indoor and outdoor onsen experiences.

The photos on the website do the facility a disservice. The facility was beautiful, traditional, the grounds were peaceful and hidden away from other facilities. I would say this is an underrated property.

the hotel is in a beautiful location and we had an amazing view from the window. the on-site onsen (hot spring spa) was great and not busy.

the hotel is in an isolated location and is hard to access. it shows its age even though it appears to be maintained. the hotel is big but there were almost no other guests when we stayed there - it felt very empty.

Wonderful staff who helped us with everything, good breakfast, amazing onsen (especially the outdoor one-bathing under Sakura trees and to the sound of the waves). Unique Japanese experience. Quiet place a bit outside of town, but regular shuttle there. Overall one of the best stays we had in Japan!
