The owner, Ahmed is the best guy in town, super friendly and gentle; you can ask him everything and will give you helps and tips to visit Petra and the near area. The property location is very nice and near to all the shops and city center; they also have a private parking. The breakfast was very good, they would give you everything, from bread to eggs, juices of any kind, cheese, meat yogurt, hummus (and I could go on); perfect if you want to have a large breakfast and walk all day without stopping to eat; you could also have lunch made by them. The bed are very comfortable, the best in Jordan in my trip. The room are cleaned every day and you have all kind of complimentary things in the room (tea, coffee water fruit and A/C).

Very nice staff that is always reachable through Whatsapp. We arrived before checkin and were able to leave our backpacks in the hotel and do the checkin in the evening after we visited Petra. The view from the balcony is very nice, especially in the morning. But since there is no railing or chairs we were only able to use the balcony for some photos. The location of the hotel is good for visitors with cars. You'll find plenty of parking possibilities and in the evening you can walk 10 minutes down to the city for dinner. If you don't have a car and are arriving to Petra Visitor Center by bus you should be aware that you can't walk to the hotel easily. It's a very long and steep way. You need to take a taxi which can be quite expensive if you have to go up and down many times. At the visitor center the taxi drivers will charge up to 10 JD which is way too much. It's better to get a taxi on the way which will cost around 5 JD or less, depending on your negotiations skills and the taxi driver. ;-)

Overall everything was as expected. The only thing that we were not aware of was that in order to use the shared bathroom in the morning we need to cross the kitchen and breakfast table. So it could happen that you have to use the toilet in the morning and have to pass other hotel guests who are already having breakfast.

This hotel is a family run hotel, Ahmed is the perfect host and will take care of you in any possible way. It's winter and it was very cold in Petra and the owner gave me an extra heater which made my stay very comfortable. Breakfast was also very good. The location is up the hill so it's good to walk down, to go up it's a bit steep but a taxi will cost you 2-3 JD so it's not a big deal. We are a family of 5 with 3 young children that recently stayed in the Over Mountain Hotel Petra and we had an excellent experience and highly recommend it. The place was very clean and quiet and the staff was very kind and welcoming. Ahmad, Hammam, and Ayman treated us with great hospitality throughout our stay and went out of their way to accommodate us. Ahmad spent time answering questions and giving tips on where to go and what to do while in Petra. Checking in and out of the place was very easy and we had no issues with the stay or the parking. A great breakfast with much variety was provided every morning starting at 0600, which was very convenient if you are an early riser. In addition, they gave some refreshments and fruits, which was a nice extra touch. In addition, the view was spectacular, both and the morning and evening. Overall, we really loved the place and hope to stay there the next time we visit Petra. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!

A really perfect service from start to finish. Good contact with us and there was free parking outside the hotel. Our room was huge and spotlessly clean with tea and coffee making facilities, hot water and super comfortable beds. Perfect for a good night's sleep after/before exploring Petra. Breakfast was great too and supermarket very close A really great helpful staff. They even do a very good packed lunch for 5jd pp. I cannot recommend more highly Shukran

We absolutely loved Over Mountains. It was a 2-4 minute walk to main centre and lots of restaurants. The host Ahmad was fantastic to give advice and communication was very good. Eamon who cooked us breakfast and cleaned the hotel was fantastic. The rooms were large and clean. The breakfast was the BEST we had, brown and white toast, fruits, cheese eggs etc etc etc. The hotel is on a hill but was only 3-5Jd from the visitor centre so it was ideal location as it was quite and the beds were so comfortable that we had great nights sleep. Would 100% recommend.

Over Mountains Hotel is in a great location with a beautiful view, especially at sunset. Although not on the main street of Petra’s entrance it was a perfect location for us and a very short drive to local restaurants. Upon arrival we were greeted with tea and biscuits and made to feel right at home. The accommodation is very clean, extremely comfortable beds, our room had air conditioning which meant we had a perfect room temperature. Breakfast was freshly prepared and plentiful and the offer of cooked eggs was a nice touch. Wi-Fi is available and a very fast connection. Fantastic accommodation whilst visiting Petra.

Bathroom is on the small side with the toilet poorly positioned. The bathroom room got quiet wet when the shower was in use so make sure you don’t take all your belongings in the bathroom when having a shower.

It looks like a home business and Ahmad the manager has been very friendly and enthusiastic with great Jordanian hospitality. Good for 1 or 2 days stay to explore Petra.

Perhaps tourism has not been good in the past years due to covid, the manager was being a bit pushy with recommendations which we found to be expensive and impractical later. Nonetheless, we still appreciate hospitality.

Thank you Ahmad for the great service! It was prompt and responsive, contactable on WhatsApp. Communal spaces are nice and comfy with generous sofa and a dining room that feels like home. Overall the property feels new and bed, pillows, bedding etc are comfortable. Location is a little far out from Petra visitor centre and downtown shops etc, but only needs a quick taxi trip that Ahmad helped us get each morning. Price point is high considering the value proposition of this guest house, however it seems most in Wadi Musa are like this. Ahmad also recommended a good driver Mohammad Al Naimat who took us from Wadi Musa to Shobak, Kerak and dropped off in Amman. Competitive rates, we ended up asking him to send us to the airport later in the trip too.

We got a room on the first night that was not the room in the picture of our booking. Although it did have larger double bed and amenities were similar, we had to use a shared bathroom just outside the room. Ahmad moved us to the room with attached bath on the second day. However, the attached bath bathing area is very very small - can hardly stand on flat ground in a tiny tub. Shared bathroom is more spacious. Both baths had variable water temperature and pressure issues. Other reviews have said the same and hope the property can improve. Also had better breakfasts during our trip - this one was very average although you get your eggs cooked on the spot.

Hotel clean, Rooms spacious, comfortbale and good eqiupped. Hotel is located about 3 km distance From an entrance to Petra and 10 minutes walking distance to the center of Wadi Musa, where you can enjoy mounth-watering real jordanian cuisine. Breakfasts palatable and with a variety of choice so Everyone should Find sth for himself. Staff congenial and helpful. For a short 2 nights stay IT is definitely worth its price.

Our room was quite acustic, so that we could hear the prays from the outside or people eating breakfast in the early morning. The location of the hotel is also next to the main road so dont expect a charming view from the Window :)
