The design of the hotel is beautiful and the facilities are amazing. The view is fabulous.

There was a smell in the room that wouldn't go away even though I kept the window and bathroom fan on. Also at the cafe we asked for a meal a la carte and the food was not as described (they added cauliflower to a minced meat dish that shouldn't have cauliflower) and my husband is allergic and when we asked they said that the menu mentions cauliflower but it doesn't.

We booked the hotel because we wanted a more culturally authentic hotel with some heritage behind it. It exceeded our expectations... The charm and warmth of the place was magical, we would absolutely come back if we are in Petra. The view from dinner was also picture perfect. The food selection had plenty of authentic middle eastern dishes (not necessarily only jordanian) but also some continental food. The selection for breakfast was also more than enough - the buffet was wonderful. The dead-sea products in the bathroom were excellent - the conditioner and the body washes and the soaps, as well as the loofah were really thoughtfully chosen. I was pampered.

The Old Village Resort was a fantastic place to stay. The staff - especially Baker - were incredibly helpful. When you check in, you're greeted with cups of mint tea. The room was small but very comfortable (bathroom shows some wear, but unless a hotel is brand new I'm not sure how it couldn't!). The room also had an incredible terrace where we watched the sun set over Petra down below. The breakfast was also fantastic, with both western and Jordanian offerings and panoramic views over the town and valley below. We didn't get to try the pool, but the outdoor hot tub was also very nice. The campus is large, so you may have a short walk to the restaurant. Also, the hotel does have a shuttle (it's up on a hill and isn't really walkable to the Petra visitor's center), but note that it is only available at certain times (twice in the morning to Petra, and once at noon and 4pm for the route back.) If you plan accordingly, this would be fine. We were only there for one night, and our timing never quite worked out for the shuttle (we hadn't realized it only ran during these times.) We took taxis, which were about 5JD for one way to the visitor's center.

Customer service was exceptional. A special mention to the Chef for going above and beyond to support my dietary requirements (he asked my partner what I liked and then surprised me with wonderful food both at breakfast and dinner). The rooms are full of character. The facilities are really good. It was the best place we stayed in Jordan. Petra is 10 minutes drive away but easy to get to and park and to get back from.

Beautiful hotel with incredibly friendly service, lovely pool area and excellent food. A perfect hotel to return to at the end of a day exploring Petra. Worth every penny.

Th estaff was super nice, the facility had many choices for enjoying the stay.

I would apperciate more shuttles to city center as teh hotel is located away from the main area of stores and food.

beautiful luxurious setting in calm hill overlooking Petra, extremely friendly managers and staff going out of their way to make you feel welcome and special. fantastic heated indoor pool and outside jacuzzi, with sauna, and outdoor pool in lovely garden setting, perfect after a long day of touring Petra. Free shuttles to and from Petra Visitors Centre (about 7 minutes drive) in our view much nicer to stay in this unique luxury hotel in a calm environment and not in crowded, noisy centre of town. non alcoholic minibar and sumptuous buffet breakfast included in price. also very good buffet dinner available at hotel restaurant. hotel is owned by the community so very unique place to stay. excellent Wi-Fi.

Beautiful complex, as if you are staying in a historic village. Low-rise building with nice rooms. We were upgraded to a very large and very nice junior suite at no extra charge. And are pampered. With a golf cart we were driven with our luggage to our room with stops along the way and explanations of where to find what (restaurants, indoor pool, outdoor pool). Slippers are ready, soft generous towels, free use of the minibar, espresso machine and kettle, fresh fruit and sweets in the room. The staff was very friendly. Everything is aimed at a very high level of service and customer appreciation. Everything is well arranged and of high quality. Aircos in the room, nice, large pools, spacious restaurant. Lots of menu choices at breakfast, both local and international options. Even when there are a few guests, choice at the dinner buffet is still sufficient. Bed was generous. A lovely mattress. Also the bathroom was spacious. Shuttle service to Petra or by car/tax about 10-15 minutes. We did not feel unsafe for a minute during our entire trip in Jordan from November 23, 2023 to December 3, 2023.
