Location is excellent as it is only 3 mins walk to Yamagata Station/Bus stops. Breakfast was delicious. Staffs were very helpful and tried to communicate in English very well. They also let us sent our ski bag to the hotel a few days prior to our arrival. It is very good value for money compare to other places we booked in Japan!

Room is a little too small, however it has under bed space where you can open your 26" luggage in half and insert under (don't think bigger luggage will fit. Shower was good as its sizing.

Super affordable - location was amazingly convenient and there was breakfast + lots of amenities (shaver, brush, nightwear etc.) Breakfast had a decent spread and it was tasty enough for the price paid. Toilets were clean and of the typical Japan size. Housekeeping made the bed everyday as well. Staff could speak some English so props to them!

Might be a tad small if you are bringing many large luggages. I did not bring any luggage except duffel bags so it was okay. Room size is typical of Japan's room sizes though. You get what you paid for.

Excellent location, very close to the JR station and the bus terminal to Zao onsen. I came by bus from Sendai and I got off literally right across the street. Lots of convenience stores and food options around. Friendly and helpful staff despite the language barrier. Complimentary breakfast was wonderful.

Soundproofing could have been better. I stayed in a room right opposite to the elevator & laundry room, and I had a hard time falling asleep due to the noise outside. The AC kept turning on and off by itself and was quite noisy too.

Comfort Hotel Yamagata is the ideal location for staying in Yamagata city and exploring the area around - just a short walk from the station and the bus depot. We used it as a base for visiting Yamdera and Mount Zao. There are plenty of restaurants nearby too. It was a very short stay this time (just one night!) so no chance to explore the city itself (which I've done many times on previous trips anyway), but you are close to bus stops to take you into the city centre if you want to head that way. We used the coin op laundry for the first time and it was very efficient. The rooms are the typical smaller Japanese hotel rooms, but absolutely fine for what we needed. Very good value for money. The bus from Sakata dropped us just over the road, and there are frequent buses to other cities e.g. Sendai from the nearby bus station, plus of course Yamagata station is one of the stops for the Tsubasa shinkansen. Very easy access from Tokyo, Sendai etc. by rail.

Nothing. This is our second stay at this hotel and we will stay here again on our next visit to Yamagata.

We stayed for one night here for our transit from Tokyo to Zao ski. The hotel is close to station. Room is clean and equipped with basic needs. Bed is comfortable as well. The breakfast was good. With the price we pay, it's consider valuable.

Room is a bit small, don't have sufficient space for two of us staying in one room to open up our baggage without blocking the walkway. Parking is available with fees and it's 5-10 minutes walk away.

Location is very convenient Great that the staff were able to produce an allergen list for everything on the breakfast buffet. Very new and clean rooms. Comfortable, big beds.

The drying machines are very slow if you're in a rush but at least they don't cook your clothes. Would have liked a few more non-dairy, non-meat options for breakfast but we didn't go hungry. :)

Great location right next to the train station and near many restaurants and convenience stores, this made travelling to it a breeze. The staff were really friendly and there was a nice complimentary breakfast as well. The bed was comfy and the air-conditioning in the room worked great on the humid days.

The bathroom was a little small, that's the only downside.

A very nice hotel :) The staff where nice, freindly and helpful. The location is great, maybe one minute walk from the train station, so it's really good for travelers. Also, there where a bunch of bars and resturants near by :) If you like your coffee, try "Day & Coffee"! And don't forget Yamagata beef!

The hotel is located very close to Yamagata station, just about 4 minutes walking. Rooms are good size with comfortable bed. All the required amenities are available in the room and bathroom, great internet, many eating places close by. Staff is very pleasant and helpful, this place is value for money.

Just one small lift, sometimes it can take a long time to go up or get down.

The hotel was right in front of the train station. There are many kinds of restaurants nearby, and a convenience store is on the first floor, so it was very convenient. The staff always greeted us and tried their best to answer my questions.

If the room is bit bigger, would be more comfortable
