We ended up staying here for 11 nights after we got a nasty case of food poisoning from a nearby sandwich stall. We extended our stay twice with no issues. Staff are friendly. Breakfast was always tasty and filling and is a choice of various egg or noodle options plus fresh fruits, fruit juices and sometimes cake. Water, tea and coffee were always available and we got small bottles of water in our room too. The fridge was great and the air con and fan both worked fine. The location was great and ideally situated to walk to any of the bars and cafes on the Main Street. They asked if we wanted our room cleaned every day and fixed a leaky shower for us, and happily gave us extra pillows too. We enjoyed our stay and would return.

The bed and pillows were a bit hard for us. There were gaps where the windows didn’t quite close properly in our room, so we did have a few mosquitoes. We had a top floor room at the back and it was quite noisy from the bars. Luckily most nights they didn’t go on much past midnight.

Friendly, helpful English speaking staff who went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Room was very clean with a good hot shower and comfortable beds. Breakfast was basic with limited choice but was enjoyed and freshly made. Its well located, close to attractions, restaurants, ATM and night market. Onward travel and tours can also be booked at the hotel.

The WIFI connection to our devices was excellent but the access to the internet was pragmatic with many dropouts. This made it difficult to things. eg book onward accommodation.

Close to all the importante place in town but it’s a small town. Breakfast is simple but ok.

The exchange rate is fixed at 21 000 kips for 1$ and the right rate was 21 600 kips. We booked the room in us so we had to pay 8$ more. Also they have tourism tours but they take 100 000 kips more than the local place that we did the tour with that was located 400m from the hotel. They had a communication problem with the company so we end up doing not the right tour! Probably not hotel fault but that was a day full of surprises.

We had a great stay at Maylay Guesthouse! The rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. The showers had great water pressure and were warm. Breakfast was really good, it included a hot meal (6 options to choose from), many fruit options, and coffee/tea/juice. They also had a free water bottle refill station which was very appreciated. The location was fantastic, really convenient for walking around Vang Vieng with lots of food options nearby, but on a quieter side street from the main roads. The hosts were very kind and helpful with showing us a variety of transportation and tour options and helping us book. Overall, would definitely recommend staying here!

The guesthouse is in a very central location which is helpful for exploring. The room was large and helpfully included a fridge, safe and space to hang clothes if required. Room cleaning was offered every day. We also used their laundry service and our clothes came back the same evening, folded and smelling great! The staff were really friendly and caring and breakfast was plentiful, with a selection of fresh fruit, coffee and juice, a small pastry as well as a selection of cooked breakfasts (centred around eggs). Felt like very good value for money.

Only negative was that the curtains were a bit thin, so the room became light at an early ish hour. Worth noting it's a wet-room type bathroom so water from the shower can get everywhere, though it drained impressively quickly.

This guesthouse is in an amazing location and the family who run it are so kind and helpful. They asked us daily if we needed anything for the room, offered laundry services and helped us book transport and activities. The breakfast had a large selection of fruit, eggs and noodles. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best it could possibly be. We absolutely loved this place and are sad to leave because we enjoyed it so much. The room was so spacious the beds were huge, and their facilities were amazing. I highly recommend staying here.

Great location in the centre. Hot shower, nice breakfast with coffee, fresh fruit every day and choice of cooked eggs or noodles etc. Hot water on tap if you have tea bags or coffee with you. They organise any tours and transport and scooter hire at the same price as everywhere else. Vang Vieng can be noisy at night for light sleepers. Rooms are big and the aircon is good. Bed is also very big and comfortable, you can ask for more pillows. Staff are very nice and very helpful. They did our laundry too.

Sound insulation is as expected at this price level

The owner and his wife are by far the kindest and most helpful people we've met so far. Nothing was too.much trouble and they're ALWAYS smiling. We had really good breakfasts at the sister hotel (Sky Hotel) and full use of the pool and roof terrace. (Great for balloon watching at sunset) Ne organised train tickets for us with no fuss. Cannot fault anything about them, or our stay. Wonderful!

Everything! Friendly and helpful staff, nice room (better than it shows in the pictures) and lovely location very close to the heart of everything and the river but also tucked away in a quiet corner. Breakfast was sufficient and there was dispenser for potable water at all times -for free- which is highly appreciated

It was all great! If I really had do mention something, maybe they could add a smaller light in the room as it only has the main one which was too bright.. small detail, doesn’t really matter

Great location, and the couple who owned/managed the place were really nice and spoke English pretty decently, and helped us organise lots of things. Very clean and comfortable

Don't let these few small negatives detract from the positives, because overall it was a great stay! Our room was facing the street behind, pretty much opposite the Full Moon bar, so there was music until about 1:30am each day. We were there in the low season so it's possible that it would be worse when it's busy. It wasn't super loud, but definitely noticeable The wifi (they have three networks) would only sometimes connect, and I think we were right on the edge of it. If you're staying on leave 2 or closer to the office then you shouldn't have any problems. Worked well downstairs in the communal outside area Shower pressure was a bit wild because it cycled between good pressure to almost nothing
