The hotel was in a nice, fairly quiet location for how close it is to the malecon—the only noise we really heard was church bells from time to time. The rooms were clean, blackout curtains were great, and the kitchenette was really useful. We enjoyed using the shared patio for coffee each morning. The pool area was also nice, however given the proximity to the beach, we didn’t use the pool, though it was nice to read next to.

The only minor comment we have is that we felt the rooms were a bit dark and the walls were marked up, with some discolouration by the air conditioning unit. A coat of paint would really elevate this space (but all in all, the room and the amenities in it made our stay great)

I never had breakfast there but lunch was great 😊.

I arrived on Saturday night October 19,2024. The lady at the front desk CHEATED me big time. I gave her a 100 dollar bill and I told her I needed change for the taxi. She said she could only give me pesos. She only gave me 50 DOLLARS in pesos. She STOLE from me 50 DOLLARS. I gave the taxi driver 40 DOLLARS. When I got back into the hotel room I realized that she CHEATED me BIG TIME. Uber drivers were honest. Taxi drivers were VERY dishonest. I will NEVER go back to Puerto Vallarta again. 😡😡😡

We ended up extending our stay to 7 nights because we didn't want to leave PV! They were able to accommodate us but we did have a move rooms a couple of times to accommodate this. We didn't mind too much as the staff is wonderful moving our suitcases around and/or storing them when required. The front desk staff, Rosario and Melina are great and made sure we were looked after. Housekeeping did a great job too and the beds/pillows are very comfy. The rooms/balconies facing onto Centro St can be loud during the day as it's a busy street and a lot of exhaust from vehicles and never ending buses, but very quiet during the night. There are also outside balconies facing a side street which would have been quieter. If you are wanting a fridge be sure to book a kitchenette as fridges aren't available in standard rooms. There is a store next door and one across the street for cold drinks, beer, snacks etc. The restaurant downstairs is wonderful with a great selection. Everything we ate there was exceptional! The Malecon is one block away and from the balconies facing Centro St you can see the fireworks each night. If you have severe mobility issues, of note is that there are no first floor rooms. What they call first floor is actually up a flight of stairs but as noted before, they are very accommodating moving your luggage. Overall, wonderful experience there and would definitely go back! Can't wait!

Not much except our room/balcony faced the busy street and there was a lot of exhaust when sitting out.

I was extremely impressed with the hotel staff cannot say enough about how friendly and helpful they are. Unfortunately I cannot say that about the restaurant, they are staffed well and helpful however never did get any discount. Too many rules to avoid it!

For the hotel, cannot think of how much I am impressed with staff. For the restaurant I give them a poor rating. For the 10% discount for hotel guests should apply to everything especially since their prices are very high to begin with. Especially the alcohol prices. Will not give you discount without food, or not at happy hour. Will not split bill for drinks and food. Too many rules to avoid any discount, I don’t like sneaky. They also need to review their prices, that’s why people go elsewhere.

I liked it that no one bother me with the non sense of the fever taken and the feet on a pool of disinfectant or masks or distances. It was wonderful that all that is over and people are coming back to their senses, specially hotels. The only hotel i would trust it is a hotel that didn't do any extra special cleaning because they were already very clean but i didn't find any who states that, so that means that hotels before Corvid were not being very clean. Food in the restaurant is good.

They did not have the custom to call a taxi for you, but they are plenty on the street. TV is very limited. Room is small.

The swimming pool, a/c and the balcony, although small was great. Great location, easy walk to the beach.

On our narrow balcony, 4 rooms had access. The issue was that there was only one small table with 2 chairs. We were lucky as low season so we were the only ones using the table. Should be 4 tables in our opinion. In the bathroom there was no towel racks which was needed as towels needed to air dry for the pool. In the room there was only one sitting chair so we had to bring in one of the balcony chairs as 2 of us wanted to sit!

This is our 6th stay at Rio and you aren’t going to get an ocean view BUT you will get some helpful, savvy employees. You will find are incredibly close to the Malecon as it is 1/2 block away. The cathedral is about 3-4 blocks. Great shopping from both small local folks as well as a variety larger corporate owned box stores. Restaurants range from McDonalds and street tacos to outdoor dining and high end fare.

The restaurant in the hotel seems to have odd hours.

The access to both El Malecon and surrounding areas.

The air conditioning system is too loud. The bathroom needs better ventilation, and screen windows and doors to let in the fresh air. However, the volume of traffic and smell of the vehicles made this very uncomfortable. It was very noisy and felt we did not get a good nights rest inf the 6 days we were there.

The location of this hotel is FANTASTIC for the price!! The bed is SO comfortable too. Staff is all very polite.

The rooms were clean(ish) but for what we paid it was fine. I also hate the pool isn't heated so it's a little chilly in the winter months. Otherwise it's a 10/10! I would stay here again.
