Highly recommend staying at Bag Packer’s Lodge if visiting Kathmandu. The staff are unbelievably kind, communicative and generous with information regarding Kathmandu/transport/hiking, etc. The whole building is kept in immaculate condition. We booked a room with a shared bathroom and it was always clean! The breakfast is modest and yummy. The upstairs restaurant is also fantastic. Perfect location. We’ve stayed in a couple of places in Kathmandu between hikes and will now always come back here! Thank you for having us.

Great place to stay. Very clean, also the shared bathroom was cleaned up many times a day. Easy location. Shops and restaurants for tourists are everywhere. Staff is very helpful and friendly. I stayed here for twice during my whole trip, because they have a free storage for luggage if you want to save your stuff while hiking or travelling somewhere in between. Also free refill for your water bottle. This was just great place to stay, highly recommend :)

Neat and clean room . Helpful staff . Even small hotel service is five star with this money surprised. Restaurant at roof top is bonus for drink ,smoke and food . Hotel is located busy tourist area so I feel bit noise from street but I like it because I saw Thamel hustle and bustle life . Receptionist provide ear plugs but I don't need. I will come after a week again . See you guise .

The street noise. A city that never sleeps. Although in all fairness they did offer a back room or earplugs which for 2 nights I never took them up on.

This place is in a very good location. You can enjoy a good breakfast, lunch or dinner on the roof terrace. The staff was always friendly and helpful. Before going into town we always stopped at the front desk where Krishna gave us all the information we needed for the day. On the last day, he also arranged a taxi to the airport for us.

BagPackers Lodge is in a fantastic location in Thamel, close to the center but not as noisy as other places. The staff was attentive and very responsive, and though the hotel is close to a piano bar, the music at night was good and I never heard it past 10pm. The rooftop restaurant was tasty, fast and convenient.

The hot water took a few minutes to run after turning on the shower.

Very loud traffic (centric with very thin windows), there is a curfew - door gets closed at night so it is awkward coming back late as a stall member has to wake up to let you in

Really helpful owner who provides everything for you. Even after coming back from Vipassana where I didn't stay there, he organized in hotel PCR test for me and I'm really grateful. There is a nice rooftop restaurant in which you can get simple but delicious foods there. The location is great, in the center of the Thamel area. Hot water is great. The rooms are clean and great value for money.

The hotel is located beside the main street of Thamel, so there is noise in the rooms. The towels were old and so although they were clean it was not nice to use them.

Very happy to have a real warm shower after two weeks of trekking! We stayed in a room with a shared bathroom, which was perfect. Both the room and bathroom where a clean. Also the location is great since you are right away in the center of Thamel.
