A small, lovely, characterful ‘traditional’ place with wooden floors and beams in a sizeable room, a large comfortable bed, very friendly staff, and a good breakfast with plenty of choice served in the picturesque garden. Only a few minutes walk from busy Patan Durbar Square and other temples etc, but a very quiet, secluded location.

The wooden stairs to the upper rooms are steep, and the ceilings are low, which might be a problem for some. The location, through a signposted alleyway, is not easy to find – tell the taxi driver to head to Sauga Tole square.

Really beautiful boutique hotel in a traditional style so was very atmospheric to stay in! I stayed at the end of my Nepal trip for some quiet and r&r. Very peaceful home feeling hotel. The doorways and rooms have quite low ceilings which was fine for all 5fy of me! Staff were very friendly and helpful. Located 2 mins walk from durbar square but a little hard to find when first getting there as it’s tucked away in a small street.

Wonderfully restored property in the Newari style close to Durbar square. Great terrace with delicious breakfast served to the table by very nice staff. The room is very beautiful, very large, well decorated, in good taste. Keep in mind that Newari style has low ceilings :-) and adapt to it. The Newari windows were gorgeous, nice to sit in the rocking chair next to the window, in the morning. The staff was extremely kind and helpful.

Would have been good to have mosquito screens at the windows.

Like a beautiful oasis yet only a 5 minute walk to Patan Durbar Square. This former residence has been very beautifully restored, it retains its character yet feels contemporary. The garden patio is calm & well designed, a great space for breakfast. The bedrooms retain their authentic charm again beautiful restoration work and exceptionally clean, the en suites are modern and blend in very well. The young man working on reception is extremely helpful, friendly, and makes time to talk, especially about Nepali & Patan culture. Highly highly recommended.

While staying true to the original architecture compromise is necessary so ceiling heights in the bathroom are very low.

Loved the beauty of the building - a carefully restored traditional house. Very elegant and tastefully decorated. Great location just near Patan Durban Square Super helpful staff. Very quiet at night. Beautiful small garden for breakfast. Food excellent. Very good value. Easy 15 minutes taxi ride to centre of Kathmandu. stayed this week with my son and would definitely recommend it.

Small bit tricky to find the first time, but very good directions we’re given.

Location, garden, nice big rooms, good breakfast

The hotel receptionist was very young and friendly but did very fairly speak English. He could not respond to our questions as he didn’t understand it. Also first day the preparation of the breakfast took quite long although there were very few guests.

The staff was courteous and accomodated our request. We had 2 rooms, the problem was they were not together and the single room provided was not suitable for 5.5 feet above. But the staff accomodated us and gave us another room. Beautiful garden and great balcony.

Height and size of room

The location is very convenient for walking around and visiting places. The building is a block away from the busy streets, so it's completely free of noise and dusts from the streets. The staff are very friendly. The building and rooms are very charming in traditional styles, and the bathroom has very modern and convenient settings. The breakfast is great with many choices. The "curd" (yogurt) is the local traditional style and is very tasty.

The rooms were extremely comfortable and the setting in Patan near Durbar Square was very peaceful. (It also made it simple to walk 3 minutes to find a taxi!) My family loved the breakfasts as well. This is one of our favorite places we've ever booked on Booking.com

We had two rooms and one had slightly lower ceilings that required me (6'2"/1.88m) to duck slightly. I had a little bit of clearance to walk normally in the other room, but tall people should just be aware.

Lovely place in a typical Newari house, where we (3 people) had a very spacious room. The beds were good and the room included a small kitchen with a fridge, plates, cups and cutlery. The garden is very peaceful and the breakfast is good. People are very friendly and the hotel is very close to Patan Durbar Square.
