Great location near tram stops and walking distance to the museums. They have a common room kitchenette which was not mentioned in the description but it is great to have access to a fridge and kettle, toaster etc. Bathrooms were clean (bring your own towels or can hire them at reception). There was a sink in the room so we could brush teeth without having to go to shared bathroom. The fan in the room helped keep the room comfortable besides opening the window.
No food or drinks in the rooms only in common room. No alcohol allowed on site and it is illegal to drink in public in Amsterdam.

Easy to go from the airport you take bus 397 with contactless card about 3/4 euro , 20mins ride, then an easy 5mins walk . Reception /common room/kitchen isn't 24hrs but you can make toast, has microwave, tea and get tap water during the day which is enough supply for the trip. Some shower supplies from previous guests which hugely helped as i forgot shampoo.... Recommend check in first so you get a card to access the door late if youre going out until late
At night reception is closed, couldnt get water or food late as kitchen is in same area, but it not a big issue. Just needed to be aware. Social table is there, can fit 4-6ppl eating together but is not big enough for music or speaker to socialise, more of just an eating table than social area, but is good. :)

I am really impressed with the skinny lady at the counter; she's so helpful and polite. She knows how to handle customers well. On my first day, which was a Saturday, she informed me that there were no empty rooms and she write me the name of another hotel. I returned to Hostel Cosmos on Sunday because of her kindness and politeness.
In contrast, the big guy at the counter isn't as helpful. I was out of coins and asked him late at night to give me change for a 10-euro note so I could use the coffee machine. Initially, he refused, but after some insistence, he finally gave me change for 5 euros.

I liked a lot the little and very cozy kitchen. Tea, coffee is available. Fridge, water kettle, cooking plate are in place. Open 24 hours. Especially recommend the dormitory 4 bed with private toilet - it makes the difference. Location is perfect - 5 minutes by walk from the VG museum.
The rooms are quite small, but it's something one has to accept. Bunk beds are not anchored to the wall, so you feel the movements of your neighbor.

The staff were really nice and if you like walking during your trips the location was a perfect distance to the center so you can walk a lot. The beds were nice enough but the best was that the place was heated so I wasn’t cold in the nights even though outside it was really cold
The Barth rooms were no good, there were only three for the whole hostel: a tiny one that could barely fit a person so getting dressed there was a feat, a medium one that was spacious enough but the toilet had no lid so you couldn’t sit on it while you got dressed, and a big one that was really comfortable. Also you could not choose the warmth of the shower, they were only hot and they worked like public bathrooms lavatories (you pressed a button that gave you water for a minute and the shut off)… Someting else to consider is that the kitchen/living area was pretty small for the amount of people, there was only a really small fridge, a water boiler and microwave so you can’t cook food, just heat food up.

I liked the fact that the room was for two . And the fact that we could leave our luggage before checking in and leaving the room. We were surprised that the room had a small washbasin. Nearby there is a supermarket, cafe, park, museums and you could walk to the center. We were also greeted warmly.
There was trash in the trash can in our room. Perhaps they forgot to take it out. But this did not stop us from relaxing and enjoying our trip to Amsterdam. Very grateful!

Location is quite good, things were well organised. People living in the same room are quite nice. The price is affordable.
Very tiny room is barely enough to fit in all the beds. Only one toilet and shower room which are not separated from each other. The room next to the street, and heard some noise outside the window, I slept close to the window

The receptionist was very nice and told us everything we needed to know. The cleaning guy, on the other hand, barged in when half of the room was asleep and he didn't care about all the incredibly loud noise he made. He woke up everyone. The room was nice and clean and had everything we needed.
