Hotel was a good base for a long weekend of celebrating my daughters 21st birthday and St Patrick’s day. Location was perfect, though being right in the red light district and having the pub downstairs we did expect some nighttime noise and we were right, still managed to sleep though. Staff were all really friendly and accommodating, and rooms were more than big enough with a closet, sink and clean towels put in every day. Sharing the bathrooms was ok, despite our worries we never had a problem and they were cleaned thoroughly each day. The breakfast was basic but fine for a little refuel in the morning. We were a mixed group of olders and youngsters and it was suited to us all, beware of the stairs though, they are steep and we had a couple of fallers that took some souvenir bruises home !!

I've stayed in the toren several times over the years and I've always enjoyed my stay. My most recent visit was last week. I was solo in this hotel for the first time, usually stay as a couple/group. The room was extremely basic, however given its location it's a place to put your head, and it's clean. The bar downstairs is one of my favourite boozers in Amsterdam, I'll go for drinks there even when staying elsewhere. The folks serving the drinks are a lovely friendly bunch, one of the torens best assets it must be said. One barman, Andre I believe his name is was especially helpful, not just to me but to everyone in general. Give that man a raise! The world needs more Andres. Another nice stay here. I've seen some shit reviews on Google, all bullshit. Badly run places don't get repeat custom, the torenzicht has many returning guests so obviously they are doing something right. I highly recommend it.

Marc the bartender/host was awesome. We were on the top floor which was awesome!!
No elevator, so carrying the luggage up and down three flights of stairs was painful!!

The location is ideal, with plenty of cafes and restaurants nearby, and almost everything in the center is within walking distance. The room was cozy and comfortable, the shared bathroom was very clean, and we had no issues with the other guests. The included breakfast was also nice, and the staff were very friendly. We would love to book again if we return to Amsterdam someday.
Due to the popularity of the location, it was often quite loud even with the windows fully closed. I’m a heavy sleeper, so it was alright for me, but my friends pointed it out.

The staff were accommodating and there was free breakfast. The hotel's location is also convenient as it was just minutes from the central station, although we haven't checked earlier that it was located in the Red Light District. However, contrary to previous reviews of having noises outside from other visitors at night, it was actually quiet on our part even though we were facing the street or canal.
There was no lift, but we didn't see it as an issue or much inconvenience for us.

This hotel is excellent. Located in the red light district, you will be surrounded by the activities that make Amsterdam (in)famous. It can be loud, boisterous, but the hotel itself is a sea of calm in the Amsterdam madness. The staff at reception were incredibly welcoming, the breakfast was good, and the bar onsite was a nice-to-have.
Some of the others in the hotel were complaining about the location not being touristy enough (for example, it has a windy staircase), but that is the charm of the place. Don't stay here if you expect a five-star experience, stay here if you want to experience a more authentic side of Amsterdam.

I loved the breakfast. The breakfast was ready at about 8:30 am. This was quite handy because I had booked the attractions early before the day got too hot.
All the staff were helpful, with the exception of a young guy who was very demanding. I arrived on the 23 June when he was on duty. He gives this establishment a bad name with his stupid attitude. I blatantly ignored him while I stayed there. The rest of the staff, including manager was very helpful and gave me excellent directions,

Loved the access of the bar and rooms, right in the district. The staff were absolutely lovely and I can't wait to stay here again. The room could do with a touch of paint and fixing the cladding with the TV wire was but all in all I was happy. The bed was so comfy. The breakfast included was delish, lovely meats, toast, eggs were so nice and that cheese damn! Thanks guys :) loved it all!! Can't express it enough that the staff were so friendly too. Keep it up guys.
The shared bathroom wasn't the end of the world, the window didn't open and maybe a kettle would be good to get tea and coffee. Although the bar does drinks sometimes it's nice to make a brew then lay down and watch some Dutch TV.

Stayed here before, in the heart of the red light so can easily access most areas of the city. Rooms are simple but if you understand Amsterdam, this is part of that aesthetic. Beds were comfortable, towels were provided and bathroom was cleaned daily. Bar attached to hotel open all the time and very relaxed during the evening
Slightly unclean but it depends on how much you care. Nothing that would effect us in any way, and as I said the rooms are a lot to be desired but that’s part of the beauty of Amsterdam. You’re here for a good time not a long time.

Loved the location - everything a tourist would want in amsterdam, even the traditional steep stairs. Friendly staff, very welcoming. Great music in the bar downstairs. Housekeeping everyday.
