The location was super convenient for walking around the CBD and shopping, and was close to a couple of supermarkets and bus routes. The apartment itself was finished to a high standard, was thoughtfully furnished with vintage and antique pieces and had pretty much thought of everything we might need for our stay, including jam and butter in the fridge and Vogels and porridge sachets on the counter. It was a slice of luxury to come back to after a long day of walking around the city. It felt secure, it was clean and airy, and there was plenty of space to move around and relax in. The view of the First Church of Otage out of the living room windows was the cherry on top. Bonus point to one of the hosts, Dan, because he was able to arrange an early check-in for me on the day I arrived and was also able to arrange a place for my sister and I to store our bags between check-out and our pickup to go to the airport - both things took a huge amount of stress off of my plate and meant we could relax and make the most of our time in the city, so thank you again for your flexibility Dan!
Nothing, everything seems to have been thought of.

The apartment is just stunningly beautiful and clean. I was very much looking forward to the stay after reading the reviews and seeing the photos. I can say that my expectations were fully met, if not exceeded to an extent. I wish we could have stayed longer. Andrew was super kind and helpful. He responded to my messages within a few minutes and came to our door to help. Highly recommend this accommodation! Beats so many five-star hotels I’ve stayed at before!
The rug on the King-size bed was meant to be placed in a casual and messy way. I only got to know it after Andrew came and explained it to me. Would be useful to add a note on this to guests in the future to avoid confusion. Also would be useful to have some shampoo, conditioner in addition to a soap in the bathroom.

This apartment tops anywhere we have ever stayed. Beautifully designed and interiors. Maximum comfort from the beds to the furnishings. Every detail is taken care of and on arrival we received all the basic foods we would need, milk, butter, eggs, orange juice, fruit including avocado, porridge sachets and a loaf of Vogel bread. Breakfast taken care of. The location is excellent, close to shops, cafes and a short stroll to the railway station, Chinese gardens and museum. We had a view to beautiful First church from our balcony and Dunedin streets. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely be returning.

We stayed at the John Campbell apartment and absolutely loved it! The apartment was beautifully designed, incredibly spacious, and the beds were wonderfully comfortable—making us wish we could have stayed longer. The amenities were excellent, and having a washer and dryer on hand was incredibly convenient. The apartment offers a lovely view of the historic Presbyterian Church, the first in Otago, and is within easy walking distance of great restaurants and shops. Since our stay was over the weekend, we really appreciated the kitchen being stocked with a delightful continental breakfast. We highly recommend this fantastic place!

The location is perfect, right in the heart of downtown Dunedin, with easy access by car to sightsee the Otago Peninsula. It is a very nicely appointed apartment with lots of details like the martini recipe along with the ingredients. They also provide eggs, bread, and fruit for you to make your own breakfast in the full kitchen, which has a dishwasher that helps with the cleanup. We appreciated having the washer and dryer to wash some clothes while we were there. The beds and living room furniture were very comfortable. Dan was very responsive and helpful.
The overall apartment is big and there are even 2 bathrooms but both are tiny with not much space to put anything. The bedrooms are both upstairs and are also quite small - really just big enough for the bed itself with a narrow pathway around. Most of the space is in the living area downstairs. We had read in other reviews that one of the rooms has a view of the church but ours didn't have much of a view.

The Henry Matthew's apartment was a beautiful accommodation option for our 4 days in Dunedin to visit family. We felt like we had plenty of space for ourselves. The artistic features were wonderful and we especially loved the huge Port hole window on the patio. Beds were super comfy, everything was very clean, and it had all the mod cons we needed and more. It was warm, and the feature lighting made it cosy on a cold Dunedin day. Our daughter especially loved the lights on the stairs! Having a washing machine and drier was also very useful. We also enjoyed making martinis for the first time in our life! Thanks for leaving the ingredients and recipe for us! What a special find this place was. We will definitely call this our " Dunedin base" henceforth.

It was a beautifully decorated property with a good view over the park. Having 2 bathrooms was perfect for 2 couples. After bike riding for 5 days, it was so good to have the use of a laundry. The breakfast supplies were an added bonus. The location was very good & we enjoyed an Indian meal just around the corner.
The second bedroom was very small. Even though I had advised that we were 2 couples, the second bedroom was set up as single beds. However, I don't think there would have been enough room to set it up as a double room. However it wasn't really an issue as we were only staying one night.

Breakfast fixings provided—Fresh fruit. Eggs, bread, milk, juice, coffee and tea! Even a cocktail! All very convenient and great—though we ate at the Bru Cafe next door almost every day. They are so nice and the food is great. There is ample space, high ceilings natural light and an easy walk to local attractions.
It’s a bit pricey, the elevator is antiquated (but better than dragging bags upstairs!).

For me, this apartment is one of the 5 best I have ever stayed in. It beats any hotel I've seen in Cannes, Dubai, London or Barcelona. And for three reasons: 1. the architect really had an eye for technical details. Dimmable LED lights, glare-free staircase lighting, night lights in the bathrooms that switch on automatically and fly screens in front of the windows. Hallelujah! That should become ISO standard. I've stayed in brand new hotel rooms where there wasn't even a power socket next to the bed! 2. the great storytelling about the room (we were in the Gaynor Clayton Apartment). The artist was a former tenant, the brushes and her paint box. Her daily routine and her red hat hanging in the dressing room. How cool! 3. the attention and respect for us as guests. When we entered the room, soft relaxing music was playing (we loved it so much that it was on for a couple of hours), the rooms were aired. Fresh eggs, jam and honey in the fridge and toast. Not much, but great value for us travellers!

Exceptional! Beyond expectation! We decided to cancel the next hotel 10minutes after we settle in this one. You can tell from the decoration, everything is with good quality. Everything in the kitchen is good quality and the washing machine and dryer are Asko’s. Bread, quality fruits, selection of tea, even eggs are prepared. Sooooooo clean! Location is great! Walking distance to everything. They even have an indoor free parking! Got me meet the owner and the manager, impressive and would be a role model to me. Definitely will come back. Love it ! Love it!
