I loved everything about our stay in this hotel especially being new years eve. From my first interaction with staff they were superfriendly and went over and above to ensure we were looked after. The meals were very good and bar was a bonus. Our room was generously spacious with a balcony overlooking the city. The bed was the best I have slept on in any hotel supersoft a huge king size bed. Two floors had laundry and icemaking machines. Located in the city centre just a 2 minute walk to the octogon and some lively New Years entertainment and live bands. Great value for money I would happily book this hotel again, highly recommended.

Location is great. Best part is the staff, I lost my key card and it was not an issue to resolve. Staff are super friendly, it was very busy when we were there but staff let us know very prompt there would be a wee wait on our meal and this was super helpful. The lady on the front counter (I didn’t catch her name) but seen we were travelling up from afar and reserved a parking spot for us in case, that was very kind and appreciated too. Be very greatful for the dedicated staff you have, they are worth their weight in gold.

The only thing and it’s not a major is just the beds were too soft but definitely ok for a few nights stay.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Merylin was exceptional! Food was so tasty and delicious, especially the "home-grown" main dish in being vegetarian. I really liked the bread and butter pudding too. Is one that brings memories for many people, but with an exceptional contrast between soft and crunchy, sweet and plain. I also liked the range of breakfast foods available. All food were cooked to perfeaction. I sat looking out at the lights of Dunedin in eating my evening meal and in the morning, by the fire, watching TV. Lovely ambience. I was surprised to have such a large room with shair and table and computer desk unde the TV. Bathroom and evey part of the room was beautifully cleaned and the shpwer temperature and pressure very good. The bed had a greta variety of types of pillows that not many hotels offer. The beds was very comfortable. My room was just near the elevator, in being vey accessible, it was still quiet. Was a good vaiety of TV channels available, with options to access Netflix, Prime etc. Big screen with wuiet settings was good. Staff assistance in using the elevator was appreciated. Having basement garaging was a bonus and I much appreciated being able to leave my car after check out time in having a meeting up the road from the hotel. Staff could not have been more obliging and helpful and friendly! These ranged from reception, restaurant, to cleaning and general workers in the hotel. I so appreciated this as I was on my own and going through a difficult time as to why I was in Dunedin. You made difference, thank you!! I would definitely recommend the Scenic to people.

The location was great—right next to the Octagon! The staff was friendly and welcoming. The room was large, clean, and well-appointed. The bed was enormous and comfy. The bathroom was very clean.

My usual problems in hotels: a lack of ventilation or too much heating and me being too hot. Unfortunately, the location did not invite open windows, and I did not try to figure out how to open them (if possible) in the middle of the night. Also, like most hotel rooms, there was a fridge in the room, and the noise of the fridge kicking in was an annoying noise

Everything about our stay was on point, staff were lovely and helpful! Room was tidy and comfortable, we had a little bit of a view on the rear of the building which was nice.

The only thing was there is 7 carparks in the entire hotel. If you don't manage to nab one, you have to park on the street. Which is all metered parking that starts at 8am-6pm except Sundays. So be prepared to get up early to chuck money in that meter, or move your car

It is centrally located and counter staffs are very friendly and helpful. The room is of a good size and bed is comfortable.

There is no parking facility on site and the paid parking lots are a block away. There was also no place for us to park to offload our luggage except for the three 30 mins’ public parking lot outside the hotel. Maybe the basement, which is said to have a few parking lots, can be converted to an unloading bay?

The room was well appointed, spacious and the beds were comfortable. We liked the fact that there was space to put two suitcases as not many hotels do! We were able to park on site (extra cost) but as there aren't many spaces, you need to book ahead. The hotel is a short walk to the station. The location is very good and there are numerous cafes and restaurants to choose from.

The hot water for the shower took ages to come through! The buffet breakfast wasn't the best we've had. The first morning, the selection was pretty average, probably because a bus tour group had been in before us. It was a bit better the next morning, although the tea and coffee making facilities weren't very good. The hot water was lukewarm.

The room was very clean, well stocked and well presented and suited our needs well. The staff were friendly and accommodating and provided a very professional service. I would gladly stay here again.

The dinner could have been a little hotter, but I appreciate the effort made to keep it as hot as possible in transit to our room. The portion size was ok, but a little more would have been better - I would go 1//4 bigger - but the flavor was good.

They accommodated our request for an early check in as my daughter had had an operation and needed to recuperate. The room was a lovely size especially since we spent the majority of our time in it. I also liked that they had washing machines on the premises which saved me a lot of time and effort. The cleaning staff were so helpful and cleaned early on in the day which was amazing.

Absolutely loved our stay here. One of the most professional accommodations I have ever stayed at. Next time I'm down I'm 100% staying here again. From the room right down to the staff members were awesome. No faults at all. Very professional. We also had all you can eat breakfast the morning we were checking out. Wish we had that both mornings we were there. One of the yummiest breakfasts ever
