Background history on building was exciting, structure decor and details take you back to what nz use to have, beautiful. Staff was always available on hand when needed whether guidance nd attractions nearby . Room was immaculate comfortable and layout suitable for warm or cold weather. Our stay was relaxing, enjoyable and will definitely recommend for a stopover as there's so many options on hand to offer P.S. even our vehicle gets the best off road parking with the best security nz can offer. 10/10, Thank you Mihi nd husband, for making our once in a lifetime 4 day holiday in the Far North memorable and will always be treasured

Terrific location in Kaikohe on the main street. Easy to find and run by a wonderful manager - Mihi. Nothing was too much trouble and she made us feel very welcome. There were secure facilities for our car and bikes (we were doing the Twin Coast Cycle trail).
Regrettably the cafe which was once part of the building is no longer operating but we were allowed to use it to have our own breakfast. Such a shame as there aren't many good food options in this small town.

This was a beautifully renovated bank made into a classy hotel. Sadly due to staff deficit and unfireseeable circumstances there was no restaurant operating , therefore no breakfast available which always makes it more difficult, however the hotel allowed guests to use a small kitchen and dining area which was good. The rooms and bathrooms were beautiful .
No hotel parking but safe locked parking available over the road for a small charge. No meals or restaurant.

Unfortunatley the hotel restaurant and bar was not open due to staff shortages, so the house manager made a small dining room table available for guests ,and supplied all the cutlery, plates etc to eat in with any takeaway. This was curcial because the dining options in kaikohe are very basic and limited. We drove to Pahia after the first night to find a restaurant as opposed to a very basic takeaway. The aircon was very quiet and efficicnet and was invaluable because you could expreince some traffic noise depending on where your room is situated. But it is a beautifully restored and furnished hotel with very high quality furniture, bedding etc.
It seemed to us that a simple breakfast could have been offered at very litle effort for guests as all the facilities were there. We found the fire doors were very noisy and wondered if they could be fitted with a soft close mechanism, it was difficult to come and go quietly.

We stayed in the historic cottage 8n the grounds. Roomy,, peaceful. Beautiful property, has fruit trees and a good sized lawn to relax in. Keith the manager was very helpful.
Kaikohe unfortunately has lost a lot of business and is a mere shadow of itself. The weekend we visited, the town seemed to be overrun with rampent youth with too much time on their hands roaming streets in gangs. Very sad.

We found the Left Bank a surprise. So surprising to have a Heritage Building in Kaikohe, and we wer very well looked after by our host. It was very generous of Keith to put us in THE COTTAGE, where we had access to the kitchen and could also sit outside and enjoy the simple garden.
There was no breakfast available but we could use the kitchen, and had tranported food so we were OK.

Perfect accommodation for what we needed with very welcoming owners and a relaxing feeling the whole time we were there. Highly recommend this historic building if you are passing through town or just want to have a peaceful and relaxing weekend away.

Someone else booked my stay so I had no expectations however it was delightful. The little quaint cottage had great atmosphere I just wanted to stay on.
Honestly it was so charming Im only being picky but replace the plastic coat hangers on the back of the door, and a reading lamp for at night as the light was not strong enough to read in bed.

No breakfast was available, but this was advised before I left home. Rooms were clean and comfortable; I was there for one night only and dog-tired when I got there so I wanted to sleep and didn't really pay too much attention to anything else.
The only niggle, and it's a small one, wa that car parking was advertised for $5 per night and I was charged $10. A small thing, as I say, but I did wonder exactly which gap the wee difference had fallen through in the information cycle.

One of the most beautiful rooms we have ever stayed. We had one of the Delux Rooms. The owners have taken meticulous care to preserve the history of the building and the rooms without compromising on modern comforts. It’s worthwhile reading the story on their website. We stayed as we’re doing the Cycle trail.
Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn’t open due to staff shortages.
