My wife and I had a wonderful time at the arrow motel. David checked us in and was so accommodating. He gave us an upgrade on the room so that we wouldn't suffer in the heat due to the heat wave going through at the time. He also allowed us to check out later due to our flight arrangements. He was so friendly. The room was lovely and so clean! The staff at the Arrow do such a good job! The facilities in the room were great and well stocked. It was a wonderful time and I would highly recommend this accommodation if you are in the area.

Our host was so accommodating and tried to get us the most suitable room - upgrading us for free from what we booked. We had kitchen facilities and bathroom and everything very clean. We picked up take away from nearby tavern for dinner, and had a walk along the beach in the morning before our flight (5 min taxi to airport). Highly recommend this little motel. A little dated but spotless and everything we needed. Fantastic for the price!

the property was clean and tidy and central to everything we wanted the beach, food and bus to town. the staff were so friendly and helpful. Sky was an absolute star welcoming us when we arrived and making sure that our rooms were sorted daily. one day when we were in the pool the owner came to check in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and then he came back with some pool towels. it was very quiet and everyone was lovely including the other guests. our stay was for four nights and we enjoyed every minute! so much so that our group has booked again for next year and we have added another night ♥️

The owner is very kind, when I booked I booked for 2 singles, they didn’t get that sent to them, and instead of correcting it by splitting the beds, he gave us the neighbouring room so we had 2 seperate rooms, didn’t have to, I even offered to help split the beds but it was a quiet time of the year, very good service

Good location, not on a main road so easy enough to get out of the drive way, but far from town but nice and close to the beach and other activities

Perfect location, within walking distance of the beach and all activities for kids. Being by the Tahunanui beach campsite was an added bonus as we were able to use the playground, play mini golf and ride the bikes (we had to hire them). The Deck Cafe was amazing from the staff to the food. Was also within walking distance from the beach cafe and coffee shops and restaurants.

Friendly and helpful for checking in, especially for an unexpected late arrival. Good off-street parking - chose this place as had bikes on the back of the car and seemed a safe choice. Decor is dated but very clean and tidy, shower renovated and very pleasant. The fan sensor in the bathroom was a great idea, only ran for a short time and only when someone was actually there. Wifi seemed speedy though didn't use seriously. No complaints - would recommend.

Very helpful man that meet us.. it had everything we needed... Could walk to the park easily and find a cafe nearby.. Clean and good quality towels ..... which is a must... The pool was ok for me as I am not tall ,,, but not ok for anyone tall I felt..

David the gentleman who helped us to our room was very knowledgable about the area and was a great source of information, even letting us come an hour early when I contacted him.

Room had very strong curry odour. Was not unpleasant but made us very hungry

The room was very clean with everything we needed to cook meals and just chill. The manager was very helpful with local knowledge and directions to find our way around.

This motel is located very close to my Nelson whanau. Over the years I've stayed at many of the local motels. I first stayed at this one in 2019, the last time I was in Nelson. It proved to be my favourite of all the local motels so I was delighted to discover it was available on my return visit in 2022. It delivered the same friendly welcome and equably very comfortable bed, and this time I had a back unit which was nice and quiet and spacious. One small detail that I appreciate is that the art work on the walls in the units are original local ones rather than the mass produced random prints that motels often chose, and I like the flavour this imparts.

On the last night of my stay (Feb 6), I returned after dark to discover the TV playing in the unit. It actually made me feel pretty uncomfortable because I never switch on TVs when I'm away and it made it feel like someone had been there. Obviously, the unit had been serviced, but I've never experienced cleaning staff switching on the TV before. Luckily I had my adult son with me and he searched the rest of the unit for me before he left. I would have raised this with the owner before I left, but no-one answered the bell at reception on the morning I left and eventually I just had to go and catch my plane.
