The location was was within walking distance to the city centre. Loved that the lake & park was only a 3 minute walk away. Although our room was pretty plain, it had everything we needed & the price was reasonable too. It has a thermal indoor pool & separate spa, which we didn't utilize, however, we did utilize the outdoor heated pool which was lovely. Our towels & bathroom necessities were replenished everyday which was good. The young man who runs the facility was awesome too. We will definitely be booking with The Ambassador again on our next visit too.

There were two adults & one child staying at the hotel, but there were only two towels available. Luckily I had brought my own towels for swimming. Mind you, I guess if I had asked for another towel I may have been given one lol

The manager and other staff were super helpful and friendly. The bed was really comfortable and the sheets were crisp and clean . For a budget motel it was great. I didn't use the pools but they looked nice.

The only thing I struggled with was the unpredictable thermal heat of the unit and the strong sulphur smell at certain times. Be super cosy in the middle of winter. Luckily they have air con in the room.

Great location, close to shops, Eat Street for late night ice creams, close to lake for morning walk, room was a good size for our whanau, nice to be able to look out the window to see across the lake etc, discount offered for Wai Ariki.

Nothing really. You get what you pay for. Actually, we would have liked to use the thermal pool but it was really stuffy and smelly in the room with little ventilation.

In a great location, close to shops & the city centre & 2-minute walk to the city garden. Our room was nice & cosy and the little kitchenette came in handy. My husband cooked us a nice dandy dinner😍

The thermal pool definitely needs an upgrade especially the pool tiling and the flooring. All the pools at the premises need a deep clean or just completely blocked off. Otherwise, allgood!

Good location, short walk to ‘eat street’ with its many bars and restaurants and Tourist Information / transportation hub. The staff / owner was very friendly and helpful, receiving post for us and providing a spare phone charging cable (to keep) when mine failed. Very good powerful shower if somewhat tiny cubicle.

The room was very hot, west facing and over the ‘drying room’ (although a/c was effective.) The decor and facilities were quite dated, but clean and functional.

The location is good. It's right opposite the government park. 3 mins walking to tourist information center (i site) and eat street. It's not so difficult to get car park ifo of hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful.

The room is so old and dated, and the water fauset is old and stiff. Stainless shower tray is not level well. The blanket is dark gray and we don't know if it's ever washed. Towels are beige. The tiny closet to hang clothes is in bathroom.

Excellent thermal pool to warm you up after white water rafting. The outdoor pool temperature was just perfect as well for the toddlers, and I also enjoyed the outdoor spa pool. Our room was a good size and it was very clean, warm and cozy. Loved the fluffy towels, and our bed was super plush. The owner was very friendly, accommodating, and informative. .

I can't fault them with anything.

The place is located with nice view to the lake. it is very quite and comfortable. It had more possibilities than I needed. the SPA and pool (sulfur) were nice. The manager of the place was helpful and very kind. It is a very good value for money.

there is no elevator so you need to carry the bags up. It was not that bad :-)

there is no hot water supply, staff adv will discount us NZ30 but the bill we received still not discount yet Resend at 17:15hrs Clarify this issue with the staff again & understand that I'm made mistake which discount has been provide earlier. I'm satisfy for all

Very clean, comfy beds, clean kitchen and toilet. Spacious room. Functional and spot on for price bracket.

The limited pots — only a very small pot available. But there was a larger cooker which I could boil pasta in. The noise wasn’t great but that wasn’t the motel’s fault — it was just other guests walking by loudly with their suitcase at 5am in the morning.
